Long story shot, some big editor contacted VR modders to make their franchises unplayable in VR.

So now, the franchises GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands and Bioshock are unplayable in any popular VR mod, not just VorpX.
Could be more franchises, i dont know the full list.

if this is real is a very bad news,

I see that RDR2 has been taken off support!

    Can anyone share:
    -What happened?
    -When/if it might be back?
-Is there any alternatives to launching in Vorpx?
(I tried ‘Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order’ profile and Vorpx straight up messaged that the game isn’t supported! Can’t even run it in Desktop Viewer!!!).

    Please help me understand!

    Thank you so much!

Can someone explain what’s going on with Red Dead Redemption 2? I saw a bunch of YouTube videos talking about how great it is in vorpx but I do not see any profiles for it and the only post I can find is about an update breaking things & scripthooks. I’m new to Vorpx. I do not have much familiarity with it. I just bought the game and have about 2 weeks to return it if it’s something that’s not likely to get running in VR.

Using desktop capture for playing games will never be as good as actually hooking into them.

Vulkan is not yet handled by vorpX, but you should get vorpX to hook most DX12 games (in 2D) by creating a copy of any other DX12 profile in the config app and then assigning your game’s main .exe to the profile. In contrast to DX9-11 vorpX doesn’t try to hook any DX12 game you launch (yet), but with a profile most will work – at least in 2D.

DX12 profiles you can use as a base are e.g. Horizon Zero Dawn, Read Dead Redemption 2 or Grounded.

IMPORTANT CAVEAT: make sure to assign the actual game .exe, not any launcher the game may use. E.g. some games may have a launcher named GameXYZ.exe, but the actual .exe may be in a subfolder, e.g. bin\gamexyz-win64-shipping.exe or something similar. In such a case you’d have to assign the latter to the profile. The easiest way to find the actual game .exe is checking the Details tab in Task-Manager while a game is running.

    Depends what genres you like.

    A Hat in time
    Ven VR Adventure
    Moss.
Luckys Tale and New super luckys tale
    God of War
    SW Fallen Order
    Praey for the gods
    Red Dead Redemption 2
    Tomb Raider games
Control I haven’t tried yet but could be fun.

Those are the better 3rd person ones I think. I still have way more to try.

    Thanks for your answer.

The first time I tried to run RDR2 with vorpX I got an error that said the ScriptHook version was too old. But I found a new version on Nexusmods (https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/ud1c0j/comment/i6sinhi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) and put it in my game folder. To my surprise it actually worked, the game launched with vorpX and the menus worked like it should. It’s just that I get these camera issues in-game. I’m wondering if it’s the ScriptHook I installed that is causing the camera issues, or if it’s something in vorpX or in-game? Like I said it’s my first time using vorpX, so I’m unable to identify where the problem comes from.

Thought i’d make a list as iv’e been trying out some more games with VorpX:

    1: Red Dead Redemption 2
    2: Cyberpunk 2077
    3: Prey (2017) & Mooncrash
4: Space Hulk Deathwing Enhanced Edition
    5: Shadow Warrior 2

Games that i have not played yet but i have tested them with VorpX & they work good once i set the game & VorpX settings to my liking so will probably be added to my list once i have played more:

    Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    The Outer Worlds
    Resident Evil 7
    Chernobylite

You are very welcome my friend, hopefully it can help people get an even better experience with RDR2 in VR than it is already.

I posted a link to this mod in another topic but i’ll post it here too as it is pretty handy: Skip legal screen mod – https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/28?tab=description skips the shotgun Rockstar screen & the two legal screens before the main menu, helpful for cutting down the time it takes to get into the game especially if like me the game usually crashes 2-3 times before working properly.

Edit: In the first post i mentioned two mods Bounties expansion & Bounty hunting expanded & enhanced, you only need the Bounty hunting expanded & enhanced mod as that is basically an improved version of the Bounties expansion mod, no need for both.

yes, this profile is using red dead redemption 2 official profile, i’m 100% sure of this.
let vorpx install hook helper (dxgi.dll) then relaunch the game and it should work ONLY IF YOU HAVE DISABLE EAC FIRST.

No, sorry. It’s a full-blown game specific mod using Cyberpunk 2077 mod functions, not just a profile. vorpX is “just” the headset backend/framework. Similar to how GTA V and Read Dead Redemption II work since last summer.

I hook this, but in g3d are too expansive for my system! (R5 5600x rtx 3060ti) but in z adaprive work fine! You must use icarus dx11 or try dead red redemption profile for dx12 .

Red Dead Redemption 2, not only is it my top VorpX experience it is also my top VR experience even though it is not a VR game, i have quite a few VR games that i think are brilliant but none of them come close to how amazing RDR2 is when played in VR.
