In reply to: Will Minecraft: Bedrock Edition work with VorpX?
OgrescarParticipantI read somewhere that it requires dx12fl11. If that’s the case there are only 4 profiles that may work – Cyberpunk2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Death Stranding. That’s assuming there isn’t something else blocking the hook, like an anti-cheat system.

DaveParticipantyes that’s true, vorpx does a great job. The Z3D is fantastic, and close to G3D. I’m going to finish all sidequests before starting Act 3, because the game is a work of art, but that’s exactly why the technical condition is annoying. But all in all its the best vorpx experience since Red Dead Redemption 2.
Even people who don’t like vorpx in general, praise the vorpx experience in Cyberpunk 2077. It is very close to regular VR Games, that is the reason why they like it.

ChrisCarson81ParticipantThis is primarily a question aimed at Ralph.
Ralph, I just got my HP Reverb G2 and it’s working great with VorpX.
Cyberpunk 2077 looks FANTASTIC!
However one of my favorite titles: Red Dead Redemption 2 is hooking, but it’s not displaying in 3D on either of the Z 3D settings. Would you have any thoughts on trouble shooting this particular title? I know it’s hard without your hands on the hardware.
I’ve played 60+ hours on the Valve Index with no problems, so I’m pretty sure it’s isolated to Windows new MWR drivers.
I’m at your service if there’s anything I can do to help support your product. If you would like to remote into my gaming rig, be my guest.
Thanks!Dec 15, 2020 at 9:28pm #198680In reply to: Red dead 2 can’t hook since Vorpx update
WarrieParticipantThanks for the quick reply!
Unfortunately copying the d3d9.dll to the right folder (steamapps/common/red dead redemption 2), where the rdr2.exe is, also didn’t fix it for me.
I also tried deleting my profile in the documents/rockstar games/red dead redemption2/profiles folder, but that also didn’t fix it.
And like sergeant I also get the ‘permission’ prompt now by the way
OgrescarParticipantI think Gears5 is dx12, so despite being an Unreal Engine 4 game, no existing profile for that engine will work. You can try one of the four dx12 profiles that do exist (Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Cyberpunk2077).

RalfKeymasterSeems like the profile is missing in action entirely in the last release. Thanks for the heads-up. I uploaded a profile database update. Should download when you launch vorpX next time. If not, you can grab the ‘Red Dead Redemption 2 [vorpX]’ profile from the cloud.

beatetParticipantRalf with the new update Red dead redemption 2 is not hooking. I have tried alternative method too and nothing.
Can I come back to a previous version of vorpx?

DaveParticipantSince the Ghost Recon Breakpoint Fiasko, the Pipeline of new Games in my “loot scheme” was empty. Bloodlines 2, Dying Light 2, Mass Effect Remastered and Watch Dogs Legion were postponed and the only Game i loved in 2020 was Mafia Remastered. I finished Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017 on a PS4, and play it again was boring. CP77 will save my love to Video Games in general, 2020 and Covid sucks my Passion.
Today is a day to celebrate for all Vorpx Gamer. Over 100 hours of Highest Quality Triple A Content. Only GTA 6, Red Dead Redemption 3 and Squadron 42 are able to beat it. CP77 is a first person game and that is what we need in VR. Its DRM Free and can be modded by the community from day 1.
The most Teething Bugs and Glitches will be fixed by CDPR in hurry, it was the same in the Witcher 3 and this was one of the best Video Game of All time. Overly Critical Point of Views are whining at a highest level.

OgrescarParticipantIt’s DX12. It works well with the Death Standing and Red Dead Redemption II profiles – I think the latter works better but I didn’t test it extensively.
In any event, it looks pretty awesome. Haven’t got much into it yet, but so far so good.
OgrescarParticipantIts a DX12 game if I’m not mistaken, so if Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding don’t work, you can try Red Dead Redemption II. I don’t think there are any other DX12 profiles. I’m kind of surprised that the Borderlands 3 profile will hook it.

OgrescarParticipantIt uses DX12. I’ve been able to get it to run in Z3D using the Red Dead Redemption II profile but it gets choppy and drops to 5 fps at times or stalls completely. It gets really bad while content is loading. I have the latest greatest game patch but it still spikes my cpu and gpu at times, even without vorpx.

RalfKeymasterIf you need hook helpers for several games, I’d strongly recommend to check for potentially interfering programs instead. On a system without any conflicting application they should be almost entirely unnecessary (except for Red Dead Redemption 2 since a recent nVidia driver update).
While great care is taken to keep track of hook helpers, even if copied manually, to allow a clean uninstall, I’d like to keep their usage to an absolute minimum for a host of reasons. Brute force DLL overrides are not exactly a desirable way to hook into a program IMO, hence officially hook helpers can only be installed via the trouble shoot dialog if necessary.
A hooking conflict with some other program might also be the reason for your 3D problem. The vorpX control app never does a normal hook attempt when it detects a hook helper, regardless whether it was installed or copied over manually. Was fairly obvious that someone would try the latter, so the control app always double checks whether a hook helper is present.
Aug 8, 2020 at 7:42pm #196444In reply to: VorpX Ver. 20.3.0 Released?
RalfKeymasterThe new (potentially faster) headset sync is included, you can switch back to the original method any time in case of issues with it.
The third hooking method only comes into play when vorpX can determine that hooking into a game failed (e.g. due to some conflict). In such a case you will now see a trouble shooter that among other options let’s you install the new hook helper.
In case of Read Dead Redemption 2, where it is known to be required since an nVidia driver update some weeks ago, the helper will be installed automatically on first launch.

VRlancerParticipant@Ralf
Hi Ralf, I was wondering if (given the new work you’ve done) the instructions are still valid that were posted regarding RDR2 and the FOV mod ( https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/red-dead-redemption-2-fullvr-with-fov-mod/ )
Thanks again for all your efforts and work!

RalfKeymasterI’m afraid in this special case I’m the only
other suckermiracle worker who will be able to shed light on the matter since DX12 support currently is pretty much limited to Red Dead Redemption 2. I’ll know more shortly. -
