RalfKeymaster@ zneeger: reversed images should not be possible. There are however three things that can make it hard to converge:
1. The game is not set to the correct resolution (should be 1920×1080 for DK2)
2. The IPD is wrong: Dial in your IPD manually. Experiment with the setting, especially too high values cause problems. This can either be done in the config app or ingame.
If you use an Oculus profile in the vorpX config app, please set this option to “Do not use an Oculus profile”. Reading values from Oculus profiles is buggy in this vorpX version.
3. The 3D-Strength is set too high. If you changed this setting in the vorpX config menu, please lower it to the default value (1.0).

August 5: A release date for the update will be announced shortly, it’s just not 100% ready for prime time yet.
August 6: The DK2 ready update has not been released yet. Your vorpX will auto update once it is available.
August 6: Some things are still a little rough around the edges though, so it will take some more time. Thanks for your patience.
August 7: We received our DK2s merely ten days ago. All I can say today is that we will be as fast as possible. Stay tuned, more substantial info will follow soon.
August 8: We have our DK2s for two weeks now, a blink of the eye in software development. The DK2 update is just not ready. The moment I know a timeframe, you will know it too. Thanks for your amazing patience.
August 12: More specific news will follow shortly. Stay tuned. Please keep in mind that we probably don’t have our DK2 any longer than you have yours. Thanks again for your patience.
August 13: The fully DK2 ready vorpX update will be available soon. Thanks for your patience.

You can get Skyrim working with DK2 and Vireio Perception, but it’s really bad. It’s worth waiting for vorpX.

RalfKeymasterI will upload the video here soon, just too much else to do currently. A release date for the update will be announced shortly, it’s just not 100% ready for prime time yet.

AnonymousInactiveHi! Installed Your program and run into the same problems in Life 4 Dead mode Z-Buffer 3D no effect. For the sake of experiment launched Half life 2 mode 3D Geometry everything works in the Z-Buffer no! But in the Life 4 Dead mode 3D Geometry is not there.
RalfKeymasterYou should keep in mind that ‘more’ 3D is not automatically better in VR. For a realistic experience it is important to have settings that resemble what you see in the real world. If you raise the Eye Separation in Geometry 3D above 1.5 or so, you already get a 3D effect that is far stronger than what you see in reality. And the maximum value of 3.0 is far off from anything that could be called realistic, that’s why it’s capped there.
While it is certainly fun to experiment with stronger than natural 3D, for a realistic VR experience you usually don’t have to touch these values at all.

RalfKeymasterWhich game(s) did you try? I need to know this to help trouble shooting.
This crash should only affect 64bit executables. Support for 64bit games is still a bit experimental.
This shouldn’t be a problem though, almost all games also have 32bit .EXEs, so one general thing you should try is using the 32bit version of the game. If you don’t know how to do this for a specific game, please let me know.
Another thing to try is temporarily disabling your virus scanner, and see whther that helps.
Also please take a look at the general trouble shooting guide above.
Hope that helps.

RalfKeymasterYou might be pleased to hear that a ‘factory reset’ function was implemented in the meantime and will be available with the next update. So, no need to to stop experimenting in the near future. :)
Dec 7, 2013 at 4:34pm #11792In reply to: Feature sugestion: Mouse look alternative.
RalfKeymasterHi guys,
I experimented with this today a bit, since it would be nice for a few more games. Keeping the button pressed automatically is easy in general, but can have side effects. I’m not sure whether there is a good way to handle it without side effects.
I’ll test a few additional things. If I find a way to make this work good enough, it will be added. No promises though.

RalfKeymasterHi Schnippshly,
A (slighlty outdated) list of games that are supported in stereospic 3D can be found here: http://www.vorpx.com/games
To your second question: Unfortunately for almost all games some individual adjustments have to be made to make them in work in stereoscopic 3D, that’s why unsupported games ‘only’ work without stereoscopy.
Non-stereoscopic games are still a very immersive experience with vorpX BTW, since everything else (including full head tracking) works in most cases. To check how immersive the world still is without Stereo-3D, you can make a simple experiment: close one eye and see whether you are still immersed in the world. :)

aiekilluParticipantOculus Prime, The correct exe is the bf4_x86 (not the bf4.exe)
It’s 32bit and it works perfectly with Vorpx, at least, for me.Oct 20, 2013 at 10:50am #11244In reply to: Setting up for the first time
RalfKeymasterHi Foxhound,
The safest settings display wise are “Use system settings” in vorpX and clone mode in the Windows display properties, combined with the Rifts default screen resolution of 1280×800 in game. Other settings might or might not work correctly, depending on graphics card, driver settings etc. So it’s best to use the ‘safe settings’ first, and experiment from there.
If the images still do not line up with these settings, you should try to lower the IPD a few millimeters, which might also be the cause of the issue.
Hope that helps.
Oct 11, 2013 at 11:26pm #11124In reply to: NBA2K14 Works and master games list
Oculus PrimeParticipantIt is best played behind the player with the 2k or up and down court angles. The sideviews work too but not as immersive.
I wouldnt go out and buy 2k14 just for the Rift purposes but if you already own it like me it is worth experimenting with.
And by the way i ended up buying the console version too because the players dont seem to carry momentum on the pc version. Console is better in this rare instance.

jmoscaParticipant@Oculus Prime I was just curious on what your opinion was of Nba2k14 with the Oculus.
Oct 8, 2013 at 2:18pm #11051In reply to: Moved: Reply To: How to Get the Most Out of vorpX?
RalfKeymasterDid you set Skyrims FOV to the recommended 100 via the console? You might also want to experiment with this value a little bit.
‘Smart’ AR-Correction is the only AR-mode that introduces top/bottom distortion. Maybe you have enabled the 2D-FOV-Enhancement, which also introduces distortion and should only be used as a last resort when no other FOV-Enhancement option is available.
Oct 7, 2013 at 10:07pm #11015In reply to: Resolution
RalfKeymasterThe safest resolution is the native Rift resolution (1280×800).
Besides that, you can try every other resolution you want, and see how that works out. The ideal resolution for vorpX would be a resolution with 1:1 aspect ratio. If you want to experiment with custom resolutions and GPU scaling, you can try to get that working somehow.
If you destroy your Rift or graphics card while doing so, you’re on your own though.
