Hello, so I’ve been experiencing a very frustrating problem. When I start fallout new vegas with the original .exe then my controls work fine, means: I can use my mouse and keyboard or my controller –> which emulates a mouse/keyboard combination, I think. However, if I mod the game then I need to start it via “nvse_loader.exe”. Strangely enough vorpx hooks without a problem and everything but the controls seem to work. The game loads into the menu and the only buttons which are responding are “Del” (opens vorpx menu), “Enter” and the arrow keys (which I use to navigate through the menu). That’s it. IF I load into the game I can’t do anything: Mouse is not responding, keyboard is not responding, nothing. It’s uplayable. Why is that?

What I’ve tried to fix it:

    1) Created a new profile (from the original FNV profile) and attached the “nsve loader.exe” to vorpx.
    2) When the game is loaded I tried to change the controller-settings within the vorpx menu (overwrite: fully, partially etc.) since then (when the vorpx menu opens) the mouse works but as soon as I close the menu the mouse arrow dissapears and nothing happens anymore.

Without any luck, vorpx won’t let me use my other buttons nor the controller.

Is there any way to fix this?

Another update, not even sure what I am doing or if I am doing anything but some more games like L4D2 are just suddenly working, Titanfall 2 still has the issue though.

Vorpx was working fine before. No problems whatsoever. All of a sudden today of all days not a single Vorpx game actually attaches. The closest I got was Titanfall 2 and Doom 2016, TF2 (for one time) ran on the desktop instead of the headset, and doom had the headset say “next up” in Steamvr while it was already running, then softlocked my entire PC and shut it down.

Every. Single. Game. does not attach. I made sure no antivirus software was blocking Vorpx and my settings were correct, and even tried deleting dxgi.dll files. All that happens is the little dialog box that says that it’s attaching stays there forever, I waited a really long time and still there it was.

I am not sure what in the world would cause something like this, I didn’t mess with Vorpx or mod anything since I last used it. It’s even stranger that I don’t really see any other people reporting something like this, it may even be me just making a simple mistake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ralf! Yeah, would be awesome if it’s working, but I suspect it’s a different version (you can see the uproar on Steam that their version isn’t as polished). I’m sending you positive thoughts! I think a while back this was one of your highly recommended vorpx games so am really excited to give it a go. Semi-related, no problem getting Jedi Fallen Order or Octotraveler hooking on Gamepass, so issue could be specific to Nier or the whole UWP thingie.

    Greetings,

Fore reference, I have an RTX 3080 and I7-10700k.

While using my Quest 2 with vorpx I have turned off Spacewarp in oculus debug tool and have disabled Async reprojection in vorpx and yet I still seem to be getting a timewarp effect in full vr mode. This is happening in Metro Exodus and The Outer Worlds, and to a slightly lesser extent in Titanfall 2.

The black sides and top are sliding into position when I turn my head quickly. I have a rock solid 90 FPS (confirmed by Vorpx FPS and Oculus Debug performance window). For reference, the game settings I am using for my vorpx session garner 250+FPS when not using Vorpx so I am extremely confident I am getting over 90 FPS at all times.

This is happening both using Airlink and Oculus Link via cable.

Is there a setting in Vorpx I am missing to truly disable timewarp? Vorpx says I am getting full 90 FPS so I am very confused at this point.

    Thanks,
    Erised

Whether a game has 6DOF or 3DOF tracking depends on two factors: for one by design only G3D games or games with dedicated DirectVR positional tracking can have 6DOF. Z3D can’t (aside from the aforementioned DirectVR exception). Also 6DOF is only unlocked in G3D games where it’s known not to cause too many/heavy glitches. You can however unlock 6DOF in every G3D game in the vorpX menu under ‘Headtracking Options’ and check yourself whether you are OK with the glitches it potentially may introduce.

That works the same with Quest as it does with other headsets, at least if the Quest is used in native Oculus mode via Link/AirLink. Not sure about Virtual Desktop. I suspect that would also work, but never tried myself.

One thing I noticed with Quest is that occasionally (e.g. under bad lighting conditions) it falls back to 3DOF in general. That has nothing to do with vorpX though. If you are sure a game definitely should have positional tracking, but doesn’t, it’s worth checking whether you currently have 6DOF tracking at all with your Quest, e.g. in Oculus Home.

    OK,
    My Cloud Profile name (jik64mnz53)
I chose one of my Cloud Profiles that I often try when creating a new profile.
However, it changes depending on the time, so I think there are some omissions.

    Rare:
    Age of wonders Planetfall (Z3D)
    Dynasty Warriors 9 (Z3D)
    MASSIVE CHALICE (G3D)
    The Crew (Z3D)
    Tales of Zestria (Z3D)
    This War of Mine (G3D)
Ys VIII Lacrimosa of DANA (Z3D)
TT Isle of Man-Ride on the Edge 2 (G3D)
    Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition
    Kingdoms of Amalur (G3D)

    Very Rare:
SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech (G3D)
    Lightning Returns (G3D)
    Valkyria Chronicles (G3D)

    All good, Ralf.

F1 2020 is pretty cheap nowadays. Might give that a shot when it’s on sale.

    BTW… Titanfall2 is INCREDIBLE now.

The gun fov fix is a game changer. Brilliant!

Wow! I just had a quick go with Titanfall 2, and I must say I am super impressed by the new weapon adjustment system.

I don’t think the auto-hide timeout was working properly here, as the gun was never visible for any animations in auto-hide mode (only ads scope), but the options in the other mode – to position and scale the weapon exactly how I want – works incredibly well.

This is exactly what Titanfall 2 needed, and I am already jazzed about the possibilities with this being added to the profile authoring tool for user profiles.

Oh, and about the advanced authoring tool… I have noticed that I no longer have access to the advanced pages suddenly with this update, only the Shaders page. Do we need to request new keys?

OpenXR seems to be working great so far, and the custom profile messages are indeed appearing on the monitor, which is helful. Thanks for that Ralf.

    Wooo!

    Very exciting.

    Titanfall2, here I come.

    Awesome new features.

    Thanks Ralf!

Below is the list list of games that this feature will be enabled for in vorpX 21.2.0 (release tomorrow).

Tweakable options include the feature mode (off/auto hide/size and position only/always hidden), the auto hide timeout, the position of the weapon in 3d space, and weapon FOV and 3D-Strength for tweaking its size. Shouldn’t really be necessary to tweak anything though. Each profile has carefully chosen individual defaults that work just fine.

    Games for the first release:

    – Half-Life 2 (+episodes)
    – Portal 2
    – Black Mesa Source
    – Titanfall 2
    – Fallout 4
    – Crysis
    – Skyrim Special Edition
    – Aliens: Colonial Marines

More games will follow shortly, I’m fairly confident that adding the feature will be possible for about 4 out of 5 potential candidates, i.e. first person G3D games.

Note that in this first release there is no UI for changing gamepad/key assignments, will also follow shortly. For the time being make sure to use a game’s default bindings, otherwise vorpX might not be able to reliably detect when the weapon is supposed to be shown/hidden under all circumstances.

I forgot to mention I had admin active for vorpx due to recommendation for ACV don’t know if that makes a difference. Normally I don’t have that on. Anyway back to the point… I thought it might be the Origin/EA thing but I tested SW Jedi Fallen Order (an Origin game) and I could hook with quest 2 and obviously Rift S. I have not had any problems with any other games in vorpx or just full VR with the link quest2 and I have a lot of games. This is the only game so far(Titanfall 2) that I have not been able to hook with Q2 link. In other words Q2 link has worked in every game that I had in Rift S. I want to play in Q2 link more for the resolution buff but it’s a new headset for me and the Rift S is broken in and comfortable. I even have the G2 but it sits there idle because I hate WMR. I tried Virtual desktop a few times but I didn’t get it to work. What is Airlink?

I tested it with quest 2 link and could not get it to hook. I also tested ACV and it works with that. I know that’s a bummer because I wanted to play Titanfall on quest as well. There are a bunch of profiles on the cloud so I guess we can start testing them. If you or anyone else finds one that works please let us know.

Hi. I am completely new to VorpX. I am using Rift S with my Lenovo Legion Y540 laptop. It has I7 9th gen, RTX 2060 and 32 GB RAM onboard. Display is 1920×1080 px.

I think I tried everything and can’t launch VorpX with most of my games. Only very few of them work with no issues (like Metro 2033 or Fallout New Vegas).
Tried to hook it up with Witcher 3, CP2077, Subnautica Below Zero, 7 days to die, BeamNG Drive, Satisfactory, Space Engineers and many more. I added custom resolutions in NVidia CP, tried to change in-game setting and still nothing :(
Help me please! I don’t know what to do.
    Desktop Viewer works perfectly fine.

HI, I just got the game on the steam sale and got very excited as I saw the VR gameplay by Bierdo Banjo on youtube. However, I have a different version with both Origin and Steam launcher involved, so it won’t work out of the box.

I try to get it work with Quest 2. Tried both with link and virtual desktop methods, with helper and without but it always launches in a window on my desktop and Steam VR Home starts on the Quest 2.

I guess the official Profile is optimized for the Origin version therefor it won’t hook it correctly, but that’s only a theory from my part.
Anyone could confirm that it works on Quest with the Steam/Origin version and what is the trick to get it work?

    Many thanks for any advice.
