Good call on the Batman Arkham series, those are some of my favorites and will definitely be checking those out

Despite i am not that much of a first-person-vr-immersion-enthusiast and more a bigass-theatre-wide-screen-addict, i am very much interested in how the ARKHAM SERIES could be played in vorpX full-vr.

@ToxicMike: You are so right. The vast majority of VR titles are poor in detail and boring. Only titles like skyrim that have been ported from flat to vr or flat games with VR mods available like Valheim, are great. I’ve been using vorpx since my DK2 (2015). Now with my Reverb G2 and the current Vorpx I’ve reached what I dreamed of.

LOL my oculus-rift-s wasn´t used for about a year, giving it one last shot with playing a game for the first time on a theatre-screen with bigscreen-beta (i never thought about it coz it didn´t made much sense to me, let alone that i had doubts about the experience being THAT great), before i was about to sell my vr-gear cheap, but from that moment on, i was never playing any game on my regular flat-monitor again and jacked myself into the vr-goggles with EVERY game i was playing EVERY TIME i played it. All of the sudden i was aware that i can´t ever enjoy any game without vr-goggles ever again LOL.

My best vr-experiences were SUPERHOT VR followed by HELLBLADE (interesting how absolutely great this 3rd-person game was in vr and that its vr-mode was actually coming more as a late add-on rather than an exclusive vr-game, wishing myself for even more 3rd-person games in vr!) and last but not least THE TALOS PRINCIPLE VR…and i actually loved DOOM VR, a title often downvoted negative by many users, to my surprise.

…and then there were, also to my surprise, many vr-titles preached by users in all positive ways but for me being the absolute “nightmare” in vr-games, horrifying in every negative way someone could imagine a vr-title to be. Now you might think i am talkin about vr-sickness, but that never was a big problem since i got adapted to it pretty fast, there were other major problems:

.) SERIOUS SAM VR: WTF?!?!? What do people love with this crap of a vr-game??? I love all the regular versions of SSAM but this?! Standing still while shooting into all directions, being so stressful and hectic that i actually lost every immersion from all the concentration it took for me to hit and dodge, almost getting sick from all the stress, so i tried on easier difficulty settings but then the game was too easy and boring, putting it away after 30 minutes and never loaded it up ever again.

.) Those “Bow”-Titles: What in gods name were they thinking???? The technique of shooting arrows with moving my hands in a similiar way was fun, but really….shooting more arrows at waves of enemies, than Robin Hood shot in all of his movies together, was more of a “stressful” experience rather than a joyful one, i also got that feeling (again) of losing every immersion coz the game itself took far too much of my concentration in order to hit all those enemies…..let alone that my shoulder still hurts by just thinking about those 30 minutes where i probably shot a million of virtual arrows.

.) Other more or less “mediocre” experiences/titles weren´t that great coz they were probably first generation vr-titles and only “great” on their release but i guess they´re not the titles these days to show off with, most of all coz some of those graphics are kinda like walking between “cardboard walls” rather than a “real” environment, but at least i was having the immersion of really walking inside another world…even if it was a “cardboard-world”.

…oh my..the size of this article again, sorry fellas i know i get carried away with writing way too much at times lol.

    Sorry, no Top Ten here!

I am not THAT much into VR-gaming experiences as well as i am not THAT much into 3D as well.

I use vorpX to play my games on immersive-screen-modes/theater-screen/ultrawide-screens mostly, since other virtual-desktop software causes too many problems vorpX doesn´t suffer (so much for those guys who still want to tell me there is no difference in free virtual-desktop software and vorpX) as well not giving that much configuration options as vorpX gives me, or in other words…

….vorpX is a general great experience for me with all games i play on it and i never want to miss it, meaning every gaming expierience i had on my monitor, is even better with vorpX, so i am sorry that i am not here to give a “Top 10” hehe.

Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro with Cheatengine first person mod.

Just warning, if you wanna do this with Dark souls 3 – you basically need to play a 2 handed rolling character; cant really play it with magic and stuff cause lock on goes crazy. Sekiro youre using a katana the entire time so not really any different

also, Call of Cthulu 2018… last 30 minutes of that game is exactly what Ive wanted from a Lovecraft based game and in VR was rad.

“I still wonder what makes people so hooked with those multiplayer-only titles”

Well, I mostly play multiplayer titles exclusively. I think I’ve finished 3 single player games in my whole life.

To each their own, of course. But I’ve always leaned towards a ‘quick fix’ game.
I like COD/Halo etc. because they’re five minute matches, and you know who won and then you do it again. It helps that I have a group of around a dozen of us that have gotten together for lan nights since way back when we had 2 xboxes and 2 projectors and would play 4v4 system link. We eventually all got our own consoles and online meant we could play more. So when you have a team of guys online regularly, it’s a fun, competitive vibe.

As far as Battle Royale goes… I friggin love it. It’s so challenging, so when you win, it’s a buzz. I loved Fortnite when it first came out. But then, it was controller players only. No bots. And no ‘quick build’ setup on the controller. So people only built basic ramps etc for some cover.
Now you’re cross-playing pc players on kb/mouse, and it’s anything but a straight up gunfight. I’m not interested in having a ‘build a battle’.

I thought Blackout (the first Call Of Duty Battle Royale) was awesome. We played it exclusively (ie. didn’t touch the team death match modes for the first time ever). But again, it was fair. Console only.
I can’t stand Warzone, though. This obsession with crossplay has ruined console games. I have to play against people with a faster, more accurate input method. And to combat that, suddenly my aim assist (which used to be just that) feels like it’s aiming for me half the time. Not to mention it’s the first time ever in the history of console I’ve ever encountered cheaters.
Whereas Apex Legends is my go to for BR now. You’re only matched with console players. The aim assist is subtle. The time to kill is long, so you actually have a proper exchange in a gunfight.

So, yeah… some people love to jump on with pals and play to compete. We play everything though. Racing games. Rocket League. Sports. Old school games like Bomberman and Worms. Whatever gets you screaming at each other. :)

But 3d and VR definitely has definitely got me playing more single player stuff. Just coz it’s so immersive, though. I’d love to, and probably prefer be able to play against pals in VR, or even just in 3D on a virtual cinema screen. It’s a shame most of them won’t work because of anti cheat.

If Warzone had anti-cheat, it would be worth playing.

And then we couldn’t play it.

    Ah, the sweet irony.

I still wonder what makes people so hooked with those multiplayer-only titles, first of all they are everything else but “long-term-fun”, not to mention that i don´t think they´re a good way of having a what i call a “relaxed gaming evening”.

All you actually do is running around in circles mostly, trying not to get killed while trying to kill others asap…hopefully before the timer runs out or the others got a higher score….oh and how could i forget about all the cheaters, making the complete experience kinda useless to begin with so i rather play with dumb bots.

I tried them all, no matter if it´s Battle-Royale-Crap, Battlefield DMs/CTF etc. etc., they all ended up with me de-installing them at having a playtime of approx. 90 Hours max, unbelievable how someone can get 1000+ hours of “pure fun”.

The same goes for co-op games of any kind, games these days are way too easy anyway so how boring could it be to complete missions with a group of players i can as well pull off on my own, especially when it´s a game with the difficulty-level not changing once co-op players have joined.

Heavily invasive anticheat software like BattleEye etc. usually prevents vorpX from hooking at all. Games with more lightweight approaches may technically work, but whether or not that potentially violates a game’s license agreement, only the game dev can tell you.

That said, e.g. various Battlefield games, Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, World of Warcraft and other games have been played by users for years. I can’t guarantee anything though.

… also if vr will not become mainstream in games, it will survive in the hardcore gamer scene and the business section.

Funny how i wasn´t caring anymore about VR a few months ago (being an oculus-rift-s owner since a year!) and now i am hoping so much for it to succeed in every way, even when i am probably still using it more or less for theater-screen gaming” lol.

I as well was having a few “scenarios” in my head, on how VR will probably do in the future, with vorpX probably playing a major role in it!

I recently talked to a friend of mine who is into VR and i asked him if he ever tried to make use of those virtual-desktop/theater-screens and he said no. That reminded myself of how i was seeing it, i actually thought that those theater screen are crap and the only reason for me trying it was actually that i wanted to have this one last experience before i am giving away my goggles, actually saving VR for me, as i said on multiple occiasions here. Anyway, my point is that people should be more aware of how great it is to make use of virtual-desktops/theater-screens because obviously people seem to focus too much on this exclusive VR-stuff, which is in my opinion by far not THAT great as the things being possible with vorpX and the chance to play far better games than most of those exclusive vr-games could be.

I’m thinking about trying some RTS games. Last week i tried playing Sudden Strike 4 with VorpX and while the 3D wasn’t something special, i liked the Cinema modes’s big screen. Now i’m thinking about Men of War 2: Arena and Gates of Hell. Their main focus is the online PvP though. So my question is:

Is it safe to attach VorpX to the games in terms of anticheat engines? Do you guys have some experience with online games? I just want to be on the safe side and don’t want to risk a ban on Steam or enywhere else.

I am totally with you senoctar and i actually already hook onto every game i am playing with vorpX, regardless what features i am using or how i configurate it.

I was a little stressed when i bought vorpX, with being well aware of this nice piece of software probably being a little “stressful” to configurate for beginners, so since i already had my fun with “theater-screens” i just felt for using vorpX for nothing else than that at this moment, until i felt like having enough time to dig into the other aspects of it and finding out things for myself.

On the subject of other software, in my opinion steam´s virtual desktop had several flaws with certain games stuttering on it while bigscreen beta was much better but also suffering flaws vorpX doesn´t, most of all the fact bigscreen is much more demanding on hardware and some games even stuttering as well or constantly crash as soon you jump from the menu into the game.

Still talking bigscreen beta, i have to say there is also some major “flaw” who is actually somehow slight “positive”. I am talkin about its general picture quality, for example if you pull the screen real close, you have a pretty unsharp picture quality compared to that great one you have with vorpX, now when you get the right distance inside bigscreen beta, the overal picture quality gets that slight “washed out” look, in my opinion making pixel-sidescrollers look a little better than on vorpX or any other monitor, but that again is “useless” once you add the 3d-effect with vorpx.

There is only ONE real big PLUS side with bigscreen beta, and that is the option of making the virtual-desktop-screen alot bigger than currently available with vorpX, but that feature is useless with bigscreen beta and certain games who stutter or refuse to run at all, so i´d love to see this “bigger” feature on vorpX too one day.

I think i got the idea now. I tried Deep Rock Galactic with Paradise Decay’s profile. I had to change some settings to make it playable for me. In the end i switched from Full VR to Immersive screen as that’s more zoomed out while still very different to a 2D screen. Before i got vorpX, i’ve tried the game in SteamVR’s Theatre mode and it was not playable at all, even on the lowest settings. I also tried Bigscreen, which was playable on the lowest settings.

i5 6600, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB – i can run this game un Ultra settings 1080p in Immersive screen mode while maintaining stable 45 FPS (according to Steam FPS counter and also vorpX counter). But it’s so smooth that i really feel like it’s 90 FPS. Or at least 60 minimum .. it has to be.

Ralf thank you for this absolutely amazing piece of software. I think i’ll spend a whole lot of more time playing games like this as opposed to native VR games. Thank you very much again!

Skyrim absolutely sucked in VR and I could never get it to work properly.

Well as far as i remember, they totally fu**ed up SKYRIM VR and FALLOUT VR, on the other hand…the community worked out something like 1000s of mods to make (at least SKYRIM VR) work better…but that again means to fu** around with trying out those mods to begin with, so all in all i guess those games are a pretty pain in the a** in VR after all. (no clue if there are vorpX profiles for them, haven´t looked for them yet coz there are hundreds of other titles i feel more important to try out in vorpX)

But there are native VR games to play seated …and I have to say that there are a LOT of those.
You just need to get those types of controls, and you will get full VR around you with the way to control as you want.

Well of course i am aware of it and i also played a few good titles in VR, the main problem here is that all in all i wasn´t THAT hooked onto those games as probably other users are.

But what really made me hooked is playing all “regular” games on this huge theater screen in bigscreen beta, despite having it´s flaws, in fact flaws which vorpX doesn´t suffer from and that was the reason for me to buy vorpX to begin with, regardless of whether or not me using it the “appropriate”way, as some other users here were trying so hard to get me to (in that certain way i felt wasn´t right, so that´s why i felt for replying in a certain “harsh” way, but then again i don´t call myself “toxic” for nothing)

So, as i already said, it was actually bigscreen beta and vorpX who saved VR for me, neither HL:ALYX nor all those game developers trying so hard to bring great VR games, coz now i am actually get in the mood again to finally dig myself more into full VR experiences than ever before, and if i am gettin somehow bored with exclusive VR titles again, then there is still the joy of playing regular games on huge theater-screens and that is finally the experience i never want to miss out on ever again.

Since i enjoyed my first game on a theater screen, i wasn´t playing any game without my VR goggles ever again, now i just hope VR goggles can actually handle being used on a daily basis, for several hours a day.

Playing GENERATON ZERO hooked to a cloud-profile:

Works like a charm, but the following problem occurs in all modes, FullVR, ImmersiveScreen and TheaterScreen, regardless of what configuration i change.

    Movement Forward/Backward/Strafing: No problem
Head-Movement: Stuttering, regardless if it´s with mouseview or headtracking, tracking set to fast/safe also doesn´t help.

NOW here it gets interesting: No stuttering when i use xbox360 controller!

Despite i wouldn´t have a problem playing it with xbox360 controller, i´d still prefer to play this one with mouse (or headtracking) but regardless of this all, i´d like to know what is causing this, so that i am aware of it in case it happens again with other titles.

I think ToxicMike is pretty clearly saying he is living in his own constructed world of gaming

You think? This means there is a possibility of you being wrong, except you´re one of those individuals who think they´re always right, no matter what.

Besides that, each one of us is actually living in his own world…and i am not talking about the world of gaming only, but that is nothing bad, it´s actually normal for human beings.

and doesn’t want any help at the moment learning the actual use of the software he bought.

It looks like you´re the one who haven´t really been reading what´s goin on here the last pages. Someone was rather interested in questioning as to why and how i am using vorpX than actually “helping” me (let alone i did not asked for help here to begin with), the fact that this guy told about this topic being “degraded” makes it even more obvious while it rather seems this topic started to “degrade” once he participated in it…and now you seem to have come taking his place…with that abnormally strong urge to “help” and this constant overused “fake smile”.

If you seriosly think someone just tried to help me, you could as well claim americans “just tried to help” indians having a “better” life, while we both know that there have been other reasons for being….so “helpful”….and as far as i can remember, neither me nor those indians ever asked for help.

Check back here, ToxicMike, when you are ready to use VorpX the intended way.

I am gonna ask Ralf if it is ok for him and vorpX to make personal use of it how i see fit, so when i am not allowed to use it this way and if i am violating any rules here, then i am trying to get a refund…

….until this would happen….you better leave it up to me as to when and where i am checking back here, can you follow me here or was it way too complicated?

No shortage of people ready to help you use the software, as you can see. :)

Again…did i ask for help here? Besides that….could you stop with constantly drawing smilies along with hiding your arrogance underneath this ironic tone, i am well aware of you and this other guy just trying so hard to make yourselfs look way smarter than you probably are…and that is what is probably behind your urge to “help” here, to give people the idea you´re something you´re probably not for real.

To a lot of people, this is like someone buying a hat, then putting it on their foot and wearing it like a shoe and saying they are enjoying it just fine the way it is.

You shouldn´t worry too much about what people think about you, me, or others here, it does not affect our lives in any way, but besides that, you´re talkin about “a lot” of people, which is just “relative” and just one look at threads actually shows the same bunch of people talking mostly, so that even narrows “a lot” down to probably “just a few” rather than “a lot”, but hey…that is the view you have in your own world and i am not criticizing you for that, i may as well have weird views in my own world, but unlike you or your friend, i am not making others views the topic here.

    everyone has their things.

You already repeat yourself more than once with this, yet you still go on. So i wonder why you repeat this so often? You´re either don´t believe it yourself or you´re just trying so hard to cover something up here.

    You keep on doing you.

Was this a realization? Were you questioning something? Oh sorry, i forgot! You just wanted to help me again.

But you have to expect some “wtf” looks from the head-wearing hat people on the streets trying to help you.

People with hats, no matter if placed on their heads or on their feet, are constantly getting “wtf” looks from all other people wearing no hats at all, so i can perfectly live with getting “wtf” looks from just those kind of people.

    :)

Why this forced smilie-overuse? Are you trying to hide something or is there a possibility of blinding yourself so you don´t have to realize how arrogant you actualy behave?

Then you didn’t read the whole thread.

Please stop accusing other users of not reading things here, only because you dislike them for not agreeing with you (…or your friend here), which by the way, seems to be a big issue for you guys, when others aren´t agreeing with you.

I could as well accuse you of not reading things here, for which i am putting up an example now:

Virtual Desktops, this other guy told me about virtual desktops being free and that there is no need in getting vorpX just for the same use, but fact is virtual desktop is not the same as virtual desktop, there are in fact major differences and i could explain as to what differences there are (like bigscreen beta not only having a slightly washed out look, it´s drawing more power from hardware than vorpX does, on the other hand bigscreen beta has a theater-mode view vorpX is currently missing, etc. etc.) but hey….

…you told me you´re here to help me, so i don´t think you need any help in realizing as to what differences there are in virtual desktops, besides that…you seem to know everything already.

    :)

    Hi

Has anyone had any success with using Cheat Engine https://www.cheatengine.org/ to overcome multiplayer games with Easy Anti Cheat or Battleye software built in that stop Vorpx hooking at all? Multiplayer is my favorite method of playing games over single player and it’s a shame so many multiplayer games have EAC or Battleye built in stopping Vorpx running them in stereoscopic 3D (thankfully there are a few that work in MP stil like Battlefield 1, Battlefield V and Star Wars Battlefront 2 but not for most. Is there any news that EAC will whitelist Vorpx? I heard rumors that this would happen but multiplayer only games like Rising Storm 2 Vietnam, Squad, Post Scriptum, Hell Let Loose- all multiplayer games that run EAC aren’t hooking at all and assume it’s still related to the anti cheat software blocking Vorpx.. I love Arma 3 with Vorpx in single player- if only the Battleye anti cheat software for multiplayer can be overcome too that otherwise prevents multiplayer with that at all (and hav eno idea how to find servers that don’t use battleye)..

Incidentally I found this video on How to Download Cheat Engine 7.2 without the suspicious installer.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNO2OYU0o6k&feature=youtu.be

Hope we can overcome this asap
