Yeah, it’s playable. Some of the visual artifacts in G3D I thought were a little distracting, and it looks pretty good in Z-Normal, so I went with that. The G3D works alright, though.
I think the “big” problem is that the profile hasn’t determined all the “z” depth in the environment. In that sense, I don’t think its a true G3D profile. Some elements are G3D, like character models, but the environment itself doesn’t look like it has actual depth like some of the better profiles, though. Nothing against the Sleeping Dogs, Definitive Edition profile–its great, just not perfect. I don’t really know about making a real profile, but I tried improving the profile to see if I could get more geometry and depth out of it, but I failed. It was difficult!
That’s why I ended up switching to Z-Normal. It’s still a great game, and improved by VorpX!
I’ve been playing it on and off. Its pretty good actually. Nothing amazing, but pretty good.
Interesting to read. Never saw a 3D image on a 120 inch monitor/projection but isnt that just the same as in the vorpX cinema ? I must say since i got me a Vive Pro everything looks even more real and well year there are still some issues with the lenses but i feel nothing can beat the immersion through a HMD.

Today i got something looking real sweet, kind of a Jump n run mixed with a RPG/Adventure.
The Chronicles of Narnia 1 (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) – G3D
– Very nice S3D with only snag, interaction icons appear at HUD Depth
– Turn off Shadows !
– find nuconfig.txt under C:\users\..\Narni\ and change resolution
NU_PCRESW 3200 (example)
NU_PCRESH 2400 (example)
– Optimized for Cinema Modes
– Profile available from the lcoud

@stryker i meant my to do list
BTW: Allowing access to the shader tools for everyone was a very good decision, way better profiles can be created. (Not many people are making use of that though.) One thing i am wondering about is that the guys from the helixmod didnt jump on this, noone can tell me they will stick to 3D-Vision for the rest of their life.I have just played an hour or so with 3D-Vision last night, it was horrible compared to VorpX, everything was so small, i could barely spot my enemies (COD 4).
Helixmod has been a great source for understanding shaders and 3D gaming in general. It can be limited in scope for those that only understand the basics, like me :-). Many 3D vision users do want VR but there are a lot of good reasons to stick with 3D Vision, at least for now :-). VorpX would be great if it could implement some of the features that the helixmod and 3DMitigo have. One big one is having a couple of G3D strength settings on a per profile basis. Meaning, be able to switch the G3D strength with a hot key on the fly in game. Anyone using the helixmod and 3DMitigo treats this as essential. As you know, games will have different camera view distances, angles etc….and the ability to switch the G3D strength on the fly would be a huge and an awesome feature in VorpX. This can apply to cutscenes, switching game modes ie. switching when in strategy maps, menus, game modes etc….it’s really any essential since some new non VR or older games ever considered camera views within VR G3D
I still think 3D Vision on a 120 inch projector is still the best way to play most games for a couple of reasons.
– Graphic fidelity, VR headsets just cannot compete with this. Technology not there yet
– Comfort, I have much shorter play sessions in VR, the headset can be annoying and uncomfortable over time
– No ghosting on a projector, but actually VR would be superior if it wasn’t for the dam god rays
– Software (other than VorpX) is not being developed in a way to play G3D games in a traditional way with keyboard + mouse, I prefer traditional right now
– VR native games are just not that good, there are a few good titles but overall wave shooters are boring to me, enough zombie shit already
Anyway, I am optimistic for future VR since I’ll agree that VR with proper G3D games can be quite compelling. VorpX has been shaping up to be a really fine piece of software as features and profiles are being added.

dborosev: Yeah, did it for matt :) . For FOV instructions see here
Have a look through that thread sometime, you might find some other fun things in there too.
P.S: to reinstall the drivers i removed the graphics card in device manager, i figured maybe that messed up the license, so i uninstalled everything and sent a new activation request for the license.
Thank you, cheers.
Testing with Everquest 1 but when i run vorpx and eq nothing shows up on the headset.
is there a way to force it to ?
thanks
Disciples 3: Reincarnation (G3D)
This game has phenomenal art direction which oozes a great atmosphere. On a whim I decided to see if I could get this working in VR and to my surprise and delight, this game works near dam perfect in G3D Immersive mode. Thanks to VorpX’s shader authoring tool, I was able to fix the HUD along with the shader for the glowing buttons.
Recommendations:
– Turn off health bars from combat menu, cards show health anyway
– Turn off hex grid outlines from combat menu
– Crank up resolution to the highest you can, for me 3840×2160 16:9 works great
You can leave both these enabled and work fine. The health bar is just a little out of depth, but not bad. There is also a translucent option for this.
You can also adjust the HUD within VorpX and anything else if so desired. I personally love this game for the art direction and some of the visuals really give a sense of scale and for a strategy game in VR, this is a winner.

Which HMD do you have?
I tested just now in my rift (even using the alternate dll you linked) and things are working with updated profile. Please be aware that Ralf has since asked us to no longer discuss or post links regarding bypasses and trainers, sorry.
If you haven’t already, please try the (Rift) labeled profile I have uploaded from Dec2018. The original profile from this post was based on GTA5, but game updates caused problems with Z3D. I later found that an updated Battlefront 2 profile handled Z3D much better. Even if you are not using rift HMD, please give the rift profile a try. You can adjust it as needed to suit any HMD.
If you plan to play in fullVR mode, I recommend a square resolution (2400×2400) for best camera FOV results. Create the custom res with your Nvidia Control Panel first, then select it from the fullscreen resolutions in game. If it gives you trouble choosing custom resolutions in game (as it recently sometimes does), you can manually set it in GRW.ini.
Documents\My Games\Ghost Recon Wildlands\GRW.ini
[Display Settings]
KeepStandardAspect=1
WindowMode=2
DisplayWidth=2400
DisplayHeight=2400
*add KeepStandardAspect line if it does not already exist
Slide Extended FOV to max in game.
Hopefully the new profile fixes your problem, but if it doesn’t, let me know and I’ll take a closer look at all my game settings and post them exactly.
Edit: I’m using Temporal AA (some games having AA on vs off is important), and leave resolution scaling at 1.00 (scaling almost always breaks Z3D in games for me).
I’m out of ideas, sorry. Never heard of anything like this in five years. If you want to check whether it’s somehow related to your SteamVR setup, you can try the “Generic Headset” in the vorpX config app. It displays the left/right images side by side on your desktop. When you change the ‘3D-Strength/Scale’ option you should see them shift slightly in opposite directions.
Hyperspace is openGL, (no not not 360°) but i would say if that works, everything else should work too. I think probably only Ralf can say more about that.
Just thought. Could this be a SteamVR issue? Is there anything within it that could cause this kind of issue?
Thanks again
@ RJK_
I have tested Enable/Disable Stereo 3D which is bound to ALT+X. Does nothing. Also SHIFT+Mousewheel does indeed enlarge the screen but also makes it a lot more pixelated due to it just zooming in.
I tested Hyperspace out as well and that is in 3d just not 360. Should it be?
@ Ralf
I have done everything you said. Double checked everywhere that there was nothing left over before a fresh install of VorpX. Still exactly the same behaviour.
I’ve been through so many settings now, over and over that i’m close to giving up. I really don’t want to do another full OS install as it’s a pain to get everything back to the way I like it and I don’t want to waste another weekend fiddling rather than playing with my brand new system.
I know it’s got to be something on my side. I accept that but I just don’t get why it worked the very first time and then it’s done this ever since. Even though I can’t stress enough that nothing has change on my end…
There isn’t really any logical explanation for your issue unfortunately, so the only thing that seems vaguely possible is that some messed up settings survived your last reinstall.
Please try to uninstall vorpX and then delete both the vorpX program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) and the data folder (C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX) manually afterwards to ensure that everything vorpX related got deleted before you reinstall.
The C:\ProgramData folder is hidden per default. If you can’t see it, enable “Show hidden files” in your Windows Explorer options.
Also try to uninstall Afterburner and any other software that might hook into games, just in case.
