that’s really weird, that should not be happening.
never happened to me.
this vorpx logo is supposed to be only displayed on monitor, something is wrong, try a factory vorpx reset ?
Just to clarify things, I’m not talking about the logo that appears on the PC screen, I’m talking about a small logo that is always displayed in my headset, all the time.
@Stryker simply click “make submission” on the engine list and submit whatever you have. – The list will be updated manually, no user accounts yet. ( There is a VorpX DGVoodoo2 List at vogons.org, you may consider adding this game there too.
XIII (DGVoodoo2) – G3D
1rst person cartoon shooter, the first one in 3D, and it looks good too.
Installation is quite tricky , so watch out !
Installation:
– Copy anything from CD(DVD) in a folder on HD (example: c:\temp).
– Put setup.exe into Win98 compatibility mode
– Open Taskmanager (Strg+ALT+DEL)
– Start Setup.exe
– Once setup.exe appears in Tastmanager (probably 50 times) RENAME Setup.exe to setup1.exe WHILE it is running
– Now setup starts properly, wait until setup asks you for a disk to insert
– RENAME setup1.exe back to setup.exe
– choose the folder where setup.exe is located (C:\temp)
– finish install
– Update to 1.3 or 1.4 where starforce protection has officially been removed
– DGVoodoo2 required
– Use Force resolution for better image quality
– Optimized for Cinema Modes ( FULL VR also working )
– Profile available at the cloud

I just realized that I had asked this question quite a while ago, and the answer was: imported profiles can not be used in place of official profiles.
I wish there was a way around this. I get absolutely no depth using what I guess is the official Call of Duty WW II profile and would like to try something else.
Your stutter may seem related to the FOV change to you due to temporal coincidence, but it almost certainly (99.9%) is not caused by it. vorpX checks occasionally whether the FOV .ini value requires an update, and then changes it once if necessary. That never has caused any stutter in the last two years, it’s unlikely to cause stutter now.
You can disable auto settings on the DirectVR page of the ingame menu. I would highly advise against that though.
I see what you mean. In that case the stutter may not be related to an FOV change at all. It certainly only happens in particular instance such as as soon as I die or when I’m selecting particular things in the menu. It never happens while actually playing a game until I’m actually killed. Performance ingame is actually totally fine until my death. As soon as I die the screen goes blank for a second (iirc it shows the default steam VR waiting room).
Hitman 3: Contracts (G3D)
Used dgVoodoo base profile and works really well in either Cinema/Immersive mode. Full VR works as well but you will need a high FOV. Requires dgVoodoo. Also nice that the game allows the gamer to switch between either first person or third person. Disabled one reflection shader and all looks really good including skybox and UI. I have the retail version from years back and this is blast to play in G3D. I am using the widescreen fix with a multiplier of 1.3 for FOV. I am using a maximum custom resolution of 2400 x 1350 16:9 which makes all text just legible. Anything higher will make things difficult to read. You can find the widescreen fix and game tweaks here
@RJK_ Can you give me brief instructions and the information you need to add to your website. I have no problem doing this, I am unaware on how to go about doing this.

Thanks, i think ill try something like a remote mouseclick through HWnd or so, that would be probably the easiest way.
I would have to implement some kind of remote control interface for that. Adding a simple command line switch would not help, switches are only evaluated on start. I’ll check what can be done on occasion, but since the Starforce protection doesn’t even work on Windows 10 anymore, that’s not high priority.
IIRC from the good old days of CD gaming, Starforce splits the game executble into two files, the .exe and a .dat file, the latter is the actual executable. I have no clue how both work together, but it’s worth a shot to try using the .dat file in your profiles instead of the .exe. Or maybe that was some other copy protection, can’t really remember.
Caveat: Even if that works, it would break your profiles for everyone who uses Steam/GOG/Whatever versions of the game in question
You could also look into things like AutoHotkey to automate the required mouse clicks.
Thanks for answering,
Since this is not a supported feature thing i would understand if you will not get much deeper into this.
Though i would like to explain a little more detailed what i am trying to do.
For Example many Starforce Protected games crash together with VorpX. – This can be solved by starting VorpX, pausing watcher, starting game, resuming watcher after a second or two.
I wrote a tool where the exact time beetween the start of two applications can be defined. The app starts the game, then after X seconds VorpX. BUT that doesnt work, starting the game and manually vorpX right after that will not work either. So i assume VorpX must be present in the taskbar when a game starts, even the watcher is paused. – I am also assuming there will be no other solution then manually resuming the watcher with the mouse through the taskbar.
Is that correct ?
Lol, I agree. I’m currently playing Kingdom Come Deliverance. Great job on the profile Ralf. I am excited about the next version, but all I can think is: I’m so busy with these games right now! Lol, you do what you need to Ralf. Thanks for everything! 😃
This is about the very often experienced crashes with Starforce Protection drivers together with vorpX. (Mainly with older games) This is not about circumventing copy protection !
Starforce: If you experience a crash right after or while the disk is beeing checked do the following:
– Rightclick on the VorpX taskbar icon
– select “Pause Watcher”
– Start Game
– While game is starting watch the protection driver window saying something like “checking disk”
– WAIT a few seconds until the progress bar reaches the middle or the right third of the window
– Rightclick again on the VorpX icon
– click “RESUME WATCHER”
If your timing was good, VorpX will hook right after what causes the crash and the game will run.
If not repeat the steps above
Note: This has nothing to do with fooling the copy protection drivers, with the procedure above you just enable VorpX a little latter then usual which obviously can make some games work again.
Other Protection Drivers will be tested some times later.
You can also read here about this
First please keep in mind that vorpX is designed for VR headsets. Most of its functionality is geared specifically towards VR. There are currently no plans to change this VR focus. If you want to use vorpX for anything else, you are basically on your own.
That said, you can disable the logo and raise the vignette scale in two ini files:
[GUI] bShowWatermark in C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpX.ini
[User] fVignetteScale in C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX\Devices\Display\GenericHMD.ini
The C:\ProgramData folder is hidden per default. If you can’t see it, enable ‘Show hidden files’ in Windows Explorer.
The game hasn’t been advertised as being supported anywhere or anytime, so I don’t see how you might have been cheated. More importantly: there is zero chance that this issue has been introduced by vorpX, especially considering that it only occurs in first person view. As Tandin pointed out the issue started to occur for him early 2018. Try to go back to an earlier version of Second Life from before the issue started to occur if possible.
You could also try to create your own user profile based on another OpenGL game: try Descent 2 (D2X-XL), Quake, Quake 3, Quake 4 for example. They all handle OpenGL slightly different. Maybe one solves your issue.
I can’t recommend anything more specific unfortunately since the game never even has been checked here. Providing specific help for unsupported games for obvious reasons is not possible, sorry.
A Story About My Uncle (G3D)
Got this game free today through Humble Bundle. Surprisingly good in Full VR mode. The profile I uploaded to the cloud is based on the Unreal 3 game engine. I used the shader authoring tool to deal with 3 issues. Shadows, window rays and this foggy blurry game overlay have all been disabled which results in a pretty good looking in first person.
Notes:
– In game field of view to maximum (120)
– Disable motion blur
– Set to highest 4:3 resolution you can, I am using 3840×2880
Profile is set to high tracking since I lowered the mouse sensitivty to 8.0 and disabled smoothing in game options. I notice this reduces camera stuttering.
If you haven’t already, try and grab this game through humble bundle for free

Hi guys,
Oculus Rift HMD and Shadow of the Tomb Raider with stereo side by side. From yesterday the game look like the HT is inverted. When I select inside the game to invert the HT again it just stay the same, and clicking it off dont disable it.
I have factory default the profile without any luck.
Any other thing that I could do?
Thanks!
