@Ralph, today i updated to latest vorpx version. I have witcher 3 Goty installed.
When enabling G3D even at lowest 3d setting gerald is having two heads its like the wig is on both of his shoulders and geral is bald. I can move gerald and the two hairmeshes move with the body. I tried several fov settings.
Is the G3D not working? any ideas

Thank you for the excellent product, Ralf. When I read about what you were doing, I purchased and instantly checked out The Witcher 3 – it is looking great in vorpX!

I’m not sure if this is known/unknown (and I hope this is the correct thread to mention it, because it looks like 17.3.1 was meant to deal with some ground/clutter 3D rendering issues), but in G3D mode, it appears that some overlapping textures (2D) are being rendered at different depths.

It looks to me like it is affecting two primary scenarios. The first looks like textures that might be added with decals or just wherever multiple textures are blended together (e.g. for adding ivy or grime to walls, breaking up patterns in roads). The other is when a player/NPC/other shadow (I guess real-time shadow) appears on top of the ground/area – there is a similar effect.

It’s possible that height maps or however CD Projekt Red did them are affecting the way it appears when converting to 3D in vorpX, but if it were a simple fix, I thought it was worth mentioning. I tried increasing and reducing both texture and shadow quality in the options, but those changes did not have any effect.

You are doing awesome work. Thanks again!

As in many newer games, shadows cannot be handled fully correct in G3D mode in Witcher 3, although vorpX does a better job in this particular case than the nVidia stereo driver, I might add.

The best way to deal with that is either not overdoing it with the 3D-Strength, the default 1.0 should look OK in most situations, or alternatively disabling shadows in the vorpX menu (“Image” page). Not sure if all shadow shaders where catched when doing the profile, the game is huge, but most should be handled.

The Desktop Viewer still does not start, but I can confirm that, after wiping vorpX and starting Witcher 3, clicking on “Restore…” does not crash the config app but lists one entry regarding Witcher 3.

Any chance that we can debug why the Desktop Viewer does not work anymore? Anyone else having trouble with Desktop Viewer?

I have the same problem. After new update 24.12.2017 Witcher 3 freezes every 10-15 minutes in the game menus – dialogs, inventory, bags and boxes with stuff. Just stop working, the picture freezes. Music is continue to play, but no mouse and keyboard repsonse. It only helps completely relaunch the game.
And it freezes randomly – after relaunch I can go to the same menu again and everything will be good. But after some time it freezes again in different menu. There is no papticular logic – sometimes the game crashes when I just put the mouse arrow onto the item in my inventory, sometimes after the click. But the same actions after the restart works fine.
I found one uncommon thing: everytime 1 second before the game goes to crash I see on my Vive”s screen slight wobble, like light “dizzy” effect. Then everything stops.
So looking on all of this, I’m not sure it is gameplay issue – probably something happens on the screen in the game menus which makes Vorpx unstable.

Im playing Witcher 3 almost 1 month and before the last update I never experienced any crash or other problems. How can I get the previous version until the newest will be fixed?
    Thanks

Same error here with Rise of the Tomb Raider (v1.0 build 813.4_64; Steam). Hangs at ‘Attaching to ROTTR.exe / This takes quite a while…’.

The title launcher appears first with the vorpX ‘Attaching to ROTTR.exe’ window a few seconds later (with the ‘exclude/close/do nothing’ options appearing sixty seconds later).

Headset is stuck with the null loading window stating ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider / Loading…’ and the game icon in the bottom left.

I was anticipating this title to be work without having to use the built-in stereoscopic SBS option in conjunction with vorpX desktop viewer.

Tried importing cloud profile, manually adding to exclude list (doesn’t give the error but doesn’t hook either), adding steamapps folder to Windows Defender exclusions (vorpX is already there as the config app was flagged as virus with the 17.3 Witcher hotfix), running vorpX as admin, creating vorpX shortcut and adding ‘-nolauncher’ option. There’s no injection conflict processes that I can see.

There was some noise at release about the title needing dxgi files deleted from install directory to work… worth mentioning.

    17.3 working very well otherwise.

I am also having the Witcher 3 terrain rendering issue. It seems like the terrain is rendered at a different distance than objects on the terrain. There is also a similar problem with the graffiti on the walls at the inn at the start of the game. The graffiti seems to kind of float on the wall. I am using a fresh install of GOTY edition. Issue persists on Ultra and Low quality. I’m using a 1080 ti and HTC Vive.

Witcher 3 G3D is perfect and a totally new experience personally i only play G3D games if not available i use depht buffer from reshade wich is superior to Z3d because of more adjustable depht and of cours the bonus you can use reshade effects….

    G3D:

Main pro: more natural 3D (2 ‘cameras’ like native VR apps).
Main con: slow due to having to render everything twice.

    Z3D:

Main pro: fast since the scene is only rendered once.
Main con: 3D effect not as natural.

Personally I think Z3D is OK for Witcher 3, open spaces usually work quite well this way, especially in cinema mode. Some however always prefer G3D regardless of performance. If that isn’t true for you, you can safely stick to Z3D.

Witcher 3 hotfix is up. Please reinstall vorpX using your web installer. The version number has not been raised, so no auto-update.

The hotfix addresses the grass/clutter rendered at wrong depth issue, but due to the really weird nature of this bug there is a certain chance that it also affects your menu problem.

all options are there I somehow missed it nevermind me I can edit the curve strength in normal cinema

something unrelated but I just found

In witcher my left alt key was not working anymore to dodge, it was doing a heavy attack (which I did not have bound to any specific key but was shift+left mouse click)

when I try to rebind the key in the game menu and I press left alt it does not read a key input. Rebinding dodge to a different button makes it work it will not work with left alt.

I then loaded up fallout 3 to see if it had a similar issue or was witcher related left alt produces the O output. I can press it to bind and the game will register O.

Is left alt key somehow used by vorpx and not usuable as a keybind ingame?
I checked the vorpx keybind menus but left alt does not seem to be used anywhere on its own (I know alt+space is recenter)

I just bound dodge to left ctrl for now instead and that works fine

Odd, I’ll add a menu mouse speed option for the next vorpX version early next year.

If you play Witcher 3, you will love the hotfix that will come in half an hour even more, I guess. It fixes a Geometry 3D glitch with grass and other objects being rendered at the wrong depth.

Check the forum for an announcement thread.

anyone else playing witcher 3 in G3D has this issue ?
i didnt install it yet, i’m just curious.

what version have you btw ? steam ? gog ?

using steam version.. it isn’t game breaking after running around for a bit just a tad annoying in spots.. actually prefer to just play this one with Z-3D.
