I’m pretty new to VorpX. I have played RDR2 and Titanfall2 without any problems but when I tried BF4, first thing I noticed is the menu is mostly black with white writing but does not look how it usually looks. When the actual game loads it’s a glitching mess. The map and the subtitles are normal but the game is a disaster and cant be played. I’ve seen people play this game online so I know it’s possible. Anyone else have and solve this problem?

does this auto weapon hide feature actually work for anyone.
have tried it now with Titanfall 2 and Black Mesa and it does nothing, and the games are unplayable in vorpx as they are due to the giant hands and weapons.

There is a G3D (geometry 3D) list on here somewhere.

There are a ton of games that support it. The upside is that it’s ‘real 3D’ (which is I assume what you mean?). So everything has proper depth and scale. The downside is it takes over 2x the power of your GPU to render everything twice. Also, depending on the engine, some graphical effects may need to be turned down or even off (eg. shadows are frequently a problem)
Z3D is still 3D… but it cheats and creates 3D from the games zmap. So there’s depth, but things tend to look a little like 2D popups in situations. And there’s usually a halo effect around certain objects as a result of how Z3D works. As well as other oddities eg. in Wreckfest, the road looks like it’s going ‘down’ in front of you. Some Z3D can work well. And some people can barely tell the difference between the two.
For me, nothing beats games like Rocket League, Titanfall 2, Metro etc in G3D. No issues with shadows and perfect depth and scale. Brilliant.
And yes… they should just work. No hours of setting up. You can, of course, play with settings to your heart’s content.

I never use any profile, I make my own. I’m still not sure why you would try the profile from another game? I see above that if you try the Jedi Fallen profile then it uses Geometry. But if Geometry was available for this game you would know the first time you launch it without any profile, no? Can Geometry be forced on a game or available depending on the game itself?

Example: the first time you launch Titanfall 2 you see that Vorpx gives you the option of using Geometry, Z-Normal or Z-Adaptive. But the first time you launch Days Gone Vorpx only gives you the options of Z-Normal and Z-Adaptive. What gives?

Just a heads-up that the feature has to be enabled on a game-to-game basis since it rquires some game specific settings. It doesn’t work automagically. Currently it’s enabled for the following games: Half-Life 2 (+episodes), Portal 2, Black Mesa Source, Titanfall 2, Fallout 4, Crysis, Skyrim Special Edition, Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Thanks for recommendation I will try this, it just did not seem very clear in the headset when playing titanfall 2 and things were quite blurry even after doing 1.4 in oculus device and 4k in the game settings but I will try again.

Hope you can find a fix, A lot of other games besides Titanfall 2 are not hooking either.

Having the same issue with Quest 2 and the Origin version of Titanfall 2. Tried Air Link and Virtual Desktop but doesn’t hook at all.

Basically what the title says, the box that says it’s attaching stays there forever. Running Titanfall 2 on desktop works perfectly fine by the way.

    Htc Vive (original)

launching the game with EA Desktop application

    Using the official profile

If it is of any help, I uninstalled OpenXR and reinstalled it since it was preventing me from attaching to any games after the new update.

Another update, not even sure what I am doing or if I am doing anything but some more games like L4D2 are just suddenly working, Titanfall 2 still has the issue though.

Vorpx was working fine before. No problems whatsoever. All of a sudden today of all days not a single Vorpx game actually attaches. The closest I got was Titanfall 2 and Doom 2016, TF2 (for one time) ran on the desktop instead of the headset, and doom had the headset say “next up” in Steamvr while it was already running, then softlocked my entire PC and shut it down.

Every. Single. Game. does not attach. I made sure no antivirus software was blocking Vorpx and my settings were correct, and even tried deleting dxgi.dll files. All that happens is the little dialog box that says that it’s attaching stays there forever, I waited a really long time and still there it was.

I am not sure what in the world would cause something like this, I didn’t mess with Vorpx or mod anything since I last used it. It’s even stranger that I don’t really see any other people reporting something like this, it may even be me just making a simple mistake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Greetings,

Fore reference, I have an RTX 3080 and I7-10700k.

While using my Quest 2 with vorpx I have turned off Spacewarp in oculus debug tool and have disabled Async reprojection in vorpx and yet I still seem to be getting a timewarp effect in full vr mode. This is happening in Metro Exodus and The Outer Worlds, and to a slightly lesser extent in Titanfall 2.

The black sides and top are sliding into position when I turn my head quickly. I have a rock solid 90 FPS (confirmed by Vorpx FPS and Oculus Debug performance window). For reference, the game settings I am using for my vorpx session garner 250+FPS when not using Vorpx so I am extremely confident I am getting over 90 FPS at all times.

This is happening both using Airlink and Oculus Link via cable.

Is there a setting in Vorpx I am missing to truly disable timewarp? Vorpx says I am getting full 90 FPS so I am very confused at this point.

    Thanks,
    Erised

    All good, Ralf.

F1 2020 is pretty cheap nowadays. Might give that a shot when it’s on sale.

    BTW… Titanfall2 is INCREDIBLE now.

The gun fov fix is a game changer. Brilliant!

Wow! I just had a quick go with Titanfall 2, and I must say I am super impressed by the new weapon adjustment system.

I don’t think the auto-hide timeout was working properly here, as the gun was never visible for any animations in auto-hide mode (only ads scope), but the options in the other mode – to position and scale the weapon exactly how I want – works incredibly well.

This is exactly what Titanfall 2 needed, and I am already jazzed about the possibilities with this being added to the profile authoring tool for user profiles.

Oh, and about the advanced authoring tool… I have noticed that I no longer have access to the advanced pages suddenly with this update, only the Shaders page. Do we need to request new keys?

OpenXR seems to be working great so far, and the custom profile messages are indeed appearing on the monitor, which is helful. Thanks for that Ralf.
