Okay I’ve fixed the problem. I have to select 60hz instead of 90hz.
For a 2160×2160 HP, which Nvidia Panel resolution and which DirectVR resolution do you recommend? (in 16:9)
DirectVR marks resolutions like 1280p but in Google I can’t found what resolution is.
Thank you for your reply!
1. Perfect, tried and works very well.
2/4. Then I’ll wait to the next week!
5. Working nice
3. Well, I’m trying to adjust the new resolution but maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ve created a 2160×2160 90hz resolution in the Nvidia Panel. Well, I go to the game, and I still can select up to 1920×1080. I go to the DirectVR page in the menu, trying to select that resolution, but Vorpx says that the custom resolutions aren’t supported.

ive set fov in game to 100. my desktop resolution is 4kx2k,3840×2160
It loads up and plays fine but i can see borders like its a moving cinema. What i see through the cinema window is satisfactory i think. Its definitely 3d. I have it turned up to 3.0 i think, in game. Its not super high resolution sharp but it looks pretty good and im reasonably happy with the game i see through this cinema window.
But the youtubers ive seen playing it through their headsets done have this window effect so im wanting to increase immersion by fitting it fully to my view.
i dabbled with the zoom in vorpx and it went away but i wasnt impressed with the zoom effected view i was then left with. Eveything too close.
Ive found a discussion stating you can change a line of text in the code to make max fov 110 and ive just done that. im yet to see if thats improved it but past this im hitting a newbie vorpx knowledge wall so thought id request the help of some vorpxers with more experience.
any help appreciated.

Hi, I’m new. I’ve bought Vorpx for play Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve the HP Reverb G1 and I’ve some questions:
1. In the menus, if I move the head, the menus also moves so for read some text in the limits, I’ve to move the eyes without move the head.
2. In game, I see a lot the limits of the screen, so I wonder if I can make the image bigger.
3. The HP resolution is 2160×2160, but in the game settings I can only select up to 1920×1080. Can I improve the resolution?
4. In Nexus mod it’s available a mod that can change the FOV above 100. It will work with Vorpx?
5. The HUD is in the borders, and I can’t see the borders moving the head. It is possible to reduce the HUD?
Thank you very much in advance.
I was using the vorpx base profile, after the update to support Cyberpunk. Geometry was there and looked way better than Z3d. Then another update comes later and bam, no G3d 🤷♂️
On the PC desktop, it can be perfect
OQ2 uses 1832 x 1920. Similarly the frames dropped to the floor.
I use i7 10700K +32Gb+RTX2060
Am I wrong or missing some necessary settings?
For the 8KX i would prefer 4480×1920 and for the G2 3200×2400. Both with medium graphic settings except the High Textures,DLSS Performance, and RTX has to be off. If you have an older Card, than set DLSS to Ultra-Performance and reduce some of the graphic settings to low.
You can use Nvidia DSR to set any Resolution, also with a 1440p Monitor.
➕1️⃣ for an official Cyberpunk 2077 profile.

Hi,
My Specs:
Valve Index
RTX 3080
Ryzen 7 2700x
16GB Ram
i play for Example Fallout 76 in G3D in 2880×2160 (Borderless Window) and Medium Settings except the Textures on highest, in average 30-40 FPS using Fluidsync to 80 FPS, but in the Cities it crashes to 15-25 FPS. I had the same experience in other open world games in 3K or 4K in typical CPU intensive Locations, too.
In high 3K and 4K Resolutions and average 40 FPS there should not be a Bottleneck of a CPU with my RTX 3080, CPU Bottlenecks are typically on 1080p and 1440p.
Is it a Vorpx or SteamVR Problem, and should I buy a 12 or 16 core CPU to get better Minimum Frames ? Or is the setup of my Resolution, Graphic Settings and Fluidsync causing a CPU Bottleneck while using Vorpx ?
hi,
it depends on the game ! On HMDs with ultrawide fov, resolutions with 21:9 or 16:9 makes sense, but on the G2 with its small fov i would prefer 4:3 or 1:1 Resolutions. But it depends if you are playing in FullVR or CinemaMode, too. In CinemaMode without highest zoom, i would prefer 16:10 ! For High-End Nvidia or AMD cards i use resolutions like 2880×2160, 2560×1920 or 2160×1620 in games with G3D. In games with Z3D i use resolutions like 4000×3000, 3600×2700 or 3200×2400. With my RTX 3080 i have to set medium or sometimes high graphic details, it depends on your graphic card. In my opinion the resolution is much more important than the graphic details !
I also have only the loading screen in Oculus when I run ESO in FULL Screen. So I have to start ESO without VORPX, set the game to windowed, start it again with VORPX active and VOILA… Now I can change ingame to Full Screen because otherwise my mouse lose the focus and I cannot play till I move the mouse back to the screen and click
Often I forget to switch back to Windowed Mode before leaving ESO – so I have to start ESO the next time without VORPX…
But what I really hate is, that the depth is wrong. So everything (bridges, steps, …) are much steeper than they are. Looking to a single bed when standing in front of it shows a squared bad, but from the side it is something like 1.2mx2m…
Anybody knows how to get rid of this stretching?
Just purchased VorpX 2 days ago and since then I am trying to make it run.
When I am running it under Oculus it stuck on “Loading” forever. I saw some suggestion in another thread and I changed the device config to Stream VR, so StreamVR starts and when I am trying to run vorpX Desktop Viewer it starts loading and then just turns to black screen.
Things done so far: Excluded vorpx folder in av.
I have Intel Integrated and Geforce RTX2080 on my laptop, so I assigned Intel integrated to vorpDesktop.exe and I I said above tried setting the device to Oculus or to StreamVR.
Please advise what I can do to run it? I purchased it to run Horizon Zero Dawn, that didn’t work well with Virtual Desktop app or VR Toolbox 360.
Thanks in advance
I play FO4 on 2880×2160 with an 1080ti with Framerates beetween 22 and 48 (G3D). The game becomes laggy of corse in certain areas with high details (22 fps), but mainly runs fluend. What you have to do is finetune your settings, i personally lowered shadows and other advanced techniques in favor of details and resolution. There is a manual somwhere on the web describing the settings in detail and how much a change will affect your game.
I dont think a newer card will bring much more performance, make shure you run latest vorpx and on the G3D settings page choose “NEW” sync type which should bring about 20% more performance on FO4.
Please keep in mind that your cpu and mainboard may also have effect on performance.
Vorpx resizes your screen resolution to about 2000X2000 depending on the game. You’re going to get diminishing value going beyond that. 4K is around the equivalent of a 2.0 supersampling rate which will kill your performance.
I usually shoot for 2560×1440 – the resolution is good and I can play most G3D games at 40fps. If the game has built-in supersampling, I’ll set it to 1.25 to 1.5 and lower my resolution to 1920×1080.
tldr; lower your resolution to a reasonable level.
I’m still holding out hope that my 1080ti will be enough to run it using Z3D.
I’ll just drop the resolution to 320×200 like the good old days of Doom. That should be enough. It’ll be good and retro.
