The dedicated video player mode works together with either VLC or MPC-HC.
Download links to these players and other information in regard to playing videos with vorpX can be found on the video player page of the vorpX help.
I just purchased vorpX and used the link in email to download the installer. Unfortunately, the installer is giving me this every time I try to run it:

A rather unhelpful error message, no?
I have everything the installer says was required, I disabled all software that might be interfering with the install, and this still happens every time. Something of an anticlimax considering that I was looking forwards to trying out more games in VR all day at work.
We need older versions vorpx, because I can only install oculus rift0.8 runtime, can provide a download link under the old version of it?
Hopefully the forum and help me with my troubles. When I launch a game (BL2/AI) the screen is very zoomed in and my headtracking moves the screen. I have imported the cloud profiles. The people on the forum are discuss specific issues for specific games so I know I am just slow. Running CV1, latest vorpx download. I know it’s user error…I can read if there is a link, but I’ve tried all the stuff I can find. I went to the cloud profile, loaded the profile, game suggests 1440p with another customer resolution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
hum .. i’ll try to be more ‘clear’ … Of course DK2 runs perfectly on USB2.0 ports.
The fact is , AFTER a FULL uninstall (0.8.0), a new download of the official driver (Ralf gave the link) and the install of it, … when the configuration starts, the Oculus Driver Program said : USB 3.0 is required (i’ll send you the printscreen).
SO, it’s not a VORPX probleme is the new driver wich provoque problems (with the DK2) so PLEASE, could you tell us where to get previous version of VORPX compatible with the 0.8.0 driver. then i could rollback to full running configuration ?
Very Thanks
Regards
Joe
For Oculus Home I used “HomeUnhider” script found here:

Scroll to about halfway down to find the download link and Instructions.
Still can’t seem to navigate or open SteamVR menu without controller though.
vorpX 16.1.2 has been released.
This is a maintenance release that mainly addresses a few DK2 related issues with the last version. List of changes:
- Fallout 4: 15-20% performance gain when using Geometry 3D
- Some OpenGL games only displayed horizontal bars instead of the game
- Oculus Rift CV1: 3D mode controls weren’t always shown in settings UI.
- Oculus Rift DK2: head-tracking did not work correctly in some DX11 games
- Oculus Rift DK2: fix for severe performance degradation in some DX11 games
- Oculus Rift DK2: potential(!) fix for Desktop Viewer not showing in headset on some configurations
For information about the last big release please click here.
If you already own vorpX, it should auto-update when you start vorpX Control next time. If it doesn’t for some reason, simply use the web installer that you received when you purchased vorpX. It will download the latest version available.
Important note for vorpX 0.9.1 users:
vorpX 0.9.1 will only auto update if you have the Oculus runtime 0.8 running. vorpX 0.9.1 cannot start otherwise and initiate the auto update! If you already installed runtime 1.3, please try this:
Workaround 1: Use your web installer to install 16.1.1 manually
Workaround 2: Use the runtime switcher linked here to allow 0.8 run side by side with 1.3:
If the runtime switcher does not help and you don’t have your web installer anymore, please contact support |at| vorpx com.
Received this from Vorpx if these first instructions do not work:
vorpX 16.1.1 has been released.

If you don’t own vorpX yet, you can buy it here:
This is a major release that introduces long awaited features like custom profile creation and authoring, support for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, as well as cloud sharing for settings and user profiles. The success of the latter depends on you. Share your settings!
This release requires you to own a Oculus Rift DK2 or CV1, the DK1 apparently is not supported anymore by the current Oculus software. DK1 owners who find vorpX rendered useless after an auto update to this version should contact support |at| vorpx com for a solution.
HTC Vive support is planned but not yet implemented.

please for the love of god, could you change the application to check for new versions BEFORE it checks for a HMD, or make updates freely downloadable
the download links you send out only work for 2 weeks and the version of the installer I have doesn’t check for updates its just installed ver 0.8.1
I get a registration key back in a few minutes and even tried rolling back and forth over older versions of Oculus SDK, but nothing recognises a CV1 so VorpX refuses to load and check for a new version so I’m stuck waiting for a response from Support to get a new download link and then re-register again
Where is the download link for the 1.3SDK version of Vorpx?
There is nothing that has to be done. These hints are added routinely when you activate very often or quite often in a short amount of time.
If you need another download link, please send an e-mail to support |at| vorpx com, like outlined in the FAQ on top of this sub forum.
That may be caused by a dll file that vorpX needs not being suitable for your Windows version for some reason. Normally vorpX should install the right file, but if a wrong one already exists, it skips copying it.
Note that this only should happen on Windows 7. Windows 8+ should already have the right version of this dll. If you get this error on Windows 8/10, something more severe is wrong. Your system may not be fully OK in that case. Either way, please create a system restore point before doing the below and backup the files to be overwritten. Really!
Please download the ZIP archive linked below. In it are two folders.
If you use a 64bit Windows:
1. copy the DLL from the x64 folder to C:\Windows\System32
2. copy the DLL from the x86 folder to C:\Windows\SysWOW64
If you use a 32bit Windows:
1. copy the DLL from the x86 folder to C:\Windows\System32
http://www.vorpx.com/share/F7VCD-WEBK7-TC78G-HUN53/D3DCompiler47.zip
Please first make sure that you have the Oculus runtime 0.8 installed (link below).
https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/pc/0.8.0.0-beta/Oculus_Runtime_for_Windows
In most cases that should suffice. If that is already the case or does not work for you, you may have to do a manual adjustment in an .ini file:
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Animation Labs\vorpX\Devices\OculusRiftDK1.ini
The value that might have to be changed slightly is called fDmLayerOffsetX.
The default shows 4.800000. Try lower values first in 0.05 steps. It’s more likely that the value is too high than that it is too low.
If you can’t see the AppData folder, you will have to enable “Show hidden files” in Windows Explorer.
Can someone possibly re-up the above Youtube vid or send me a link somewhere to download it please? Alternatively can you just let me have the instructions on how to set the game up with DK2 and VorpX please.
