    Hi all,
Can anyone confirm if Automobilista works with cv1 ?

I’m guessing it could be setup with an rfactor profile (im new to all this )

    Cheers

Did you ever get Automobilista working?

I am looking into trying to get it to work with WMR.

Off the top off my head: GRID, various F1 games, rFactor 1+2, Flatout 1+2.

    Hi There,
I keep getting an error when i install vorpx:
    —————————
    vorpX Control
    —————————
Sorry. vorpX encountered a critical error and cannot do its magic. :\

Try restarting the application. If the problem persists, reinstalling vorpX might help.
    —————————
    OK
    —————————

I have tried installing it as admin and even creating a new admin account on my pc.

i have checked eventvwr.msc and i get these issus:

    Hi Ralf,

First, thank you for the update. Even though you don’t mention it in release notes, with this release I am getting better framerate in rFactor 2.

However, after update, I have a problem with program called JoyToKey. This program allows to map various keyboard/mouse functions to joystick. I have Shift+Scroll Up/Shift+Scroll Down mapped to my steering wheel buttons. However, after update vorpX does not respond to that anymore. In addition, Zoom in/zoom out functionality is not configurable, say I can’t map it to anything else but Shift+Scroll. Any ideas how to fix this? I am speculating here, but it is almost like this functionality depends on installation order (like what app handles input first).

This problem really kills my experience, because my usual workflow is zoom out in menu or during pit menu selection, and zoom in during driving. Now I need to reach for mouse AND keyboard (!!!) to zoom in/out.

    Thanks in advance.

I bought vorpx today to play rfactor 1 in VR.I have an HTC vive. so far I’m unable to launch it in VR. i’ve been trying different settings all day long, but nothing works for me.

I’ve tried everything on these 3 topics

    rfactor 1 not starting

    RFactor 1 Set up Help

    rfactor 1 and VorpX 0.75

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance :)

My config is 6700k, 16Gigs RAM, R9 390. Vive works perfectly with project cars, assetto corsa and adr1ft.

edit: I forgot to say: I got 2 differents error messages: the first one was “unable to hook rfactor.exe” and the second one was “plugin outdated” and then it says try to update the plugin. But I couldn’t find find how to update the plugin :(

    OK, framerate question… (running on i5-6600 @ 3.5, a GTX 1070, 16GB RAM and Windows 10).

FPS outside of vorpX (monitor @ 1080p):
rfactor 1 – high 500s-low 1000s during gameplay depending on track
    rfactor 2 – high 200s

FPS when running vorpX (Rift CV1 @ 1280×1440):
    rfactor 1 – 22.5
rfactor 2 – 90 with some fiddling of the quality settings

Is it normal to take such a massive hit?
And what could be causing rfactor 1 to not surpass 22.5fps while running vorpX? I’ve lowered all the quality settings to the lowest and nothing seems to make a difference.

Thanks, TheIronWolf – once I enabled mouse-look and mapped it to my wheel I finally had headtracking! (really would be great to have a vorpX manual…)

Still trying to tweak settings to maximize the otherwise muddy & jagged rfactor2 + Rift CV1 image while maintaining 90fps. Currently using 1280×1440 resolution and FXAA. I’m a real-life racer, not a gamer (though semi-computer proficient) so this is all new to me – any suggestions or tweaks are appreciated (running an i5-6600 @ 3.5, a GTX 1070, 16GB RAM and Windows 10).

And I agree, 3D Reconstruction via Z-Normal and Z-Adaptive don’t work at all, and Geometry cannot be aligned close enough to work, plus both eyes don’t render all of the same information in the cockpit.

I didn’t think I was an idiot, but for the life of me I can’t get headtracking to work in rfactor 1 or 2 with my Rift and I’m pretty sure I’ve toggled every option numerous times. The whole screen moves with my head rather than my head moving within the world – making it unplayable – unless Virtual Cinema Mode is on.

I’ve downloaded setups from the cloud and read: https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/headtracking-issues-tips-and-tricks/ but it seems some of those options have changed in the past two years.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to say thank you for the update! V17 is an improvement. I currently run just one game (rFactor2), and after update I no longer need to run game in windowed mode. Also, 8:9 ratio resolution zooms in correctly now (previously had to run 10:9 to avoid seeing borders).
Just curious: did input handling change in this version? Antimicro no longer works with vorpx, and I had to switch to JoyToKey, which I am not fan of.

IIRC you can find several rFactor 2 custom settings files done by other users in the Cloud Profiles section of the vorpX config app. Might be worth to check these out.

If the game (actually any game) looks zoomed in, you need to enhance the field of view (FOV). How that can be done varies from game to game. A list of general options in this regard is avalable in the Essential Hints Guide in the vorpX help.

For rFactor2 that is straight forward since it can be done directly in the game’s display options. The option is called “Vertical FOV”. A value around 90° should look right in the headset.

    I’m talking rFactor not rFactor2 :)

    NO 3D :(

It is working but it needs a tweak or 2.
There is no entry under ‘game settings optimizer’ but there is one under local profiles.

rFactor fired up 1st time in the DK2 which was nice.
was very zoomed in but a small search n read solved that with shift&mouse wheel.
Problem is the menu screen moves with your head so you cannot actually look around and choose your menu options.

Also the game is NOT running in 3D it’s just basically a 2D screen.

Can the menu’s be made to stay still while the head moves?

How to run the game in 3D?

    Thanks

is a lot of money to shell out only to find out the listed game your buying it for doesn’t work.

    rFactor
    rFactor2
    BF3
Need for Speed Most Wanted [2005]
    Need for Speed Shift 2

    I have those games.

    Would BF2142 work?
NFS The Run? (would be awesome) it’s newer than NFSMW2005

    Thanks
