    Hi Ralf,

Haven’t tried all of this myself due to lack of time, but it might be useful.

If You Have an Nvidia Card, You Can Play Resident Evil 2, Battlefield V, etc in Glorious Full 3D!

Obviously the part of the virtual desktop in Oculus is not relevant for vorpx, but particularly interested on the 3D vision, and the mod/fix to get 3D in SBS (not native but at least is something).

In fact, If I recall correctly from my tests. The 3D in vorpx was fully broken, as you have 2 different things in each lens (like the 3D wasn’t working). So, it might a solution.

I see. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a third person game, which means the camera rotates around the player character. vorpX can not change how the actual game works. When you play a game with third person camera in ‘Full VR’ mode, you basically fly around the player character when you rotate your head, which feels rather odd. Probably that’s what you perceive as ‘inverted’.

To deal with the matter in a general way about a year ago or so ‘Immersive Screen Mode’ was introduced, which now is the recommended way to play third person games. You can switch to immersive screen mode with the ‘Play Style’ option in the vorpX menu.

    Resident Evil 5 (G3D)

    – Use DX9 executable only
    – Impressing graphics
    – Great S3D in all Modes (Cinema is default)
    – Full VR with headtracking (recommended)
    – Profile available at the cloud

So I posted earlier about this problem with REsident Evil Revelations: it stopped happening for a while, and I thought that not running VorpX in administrator mode was what fixed it. Apparently not; it’s back and now it’s affecting Assassin’s Creed Revelation the same way.

Game starts fine. I put on the Oculus Rift and what I see is frozen. I take it off and I see that the system has switched back to desktop. I switch back to the game. I put on the Oculus Rift. Again, it’s frozen, and when I take it off, I’m back at the desktop. Repeat ad infinitum.

    Help! This is exceedingly frustrating.

There is no problem with head tracking, for example, in resident Evil 7 or outlast, I cannot go to the left stick. On the left stick, for some reason, I have to turn my head like on the right stick. As if I had 2 right stickes on my gamepad. at the same time, head rotation is working fine.

Hi all! I just got the Oculus Rift and VorpX and am loving them both!

I’m having a problem though that’s styming me: Whenever I put my Rift on with Resident Evil Revelations running, it switches back to desktop. I take off the Rift, switch back to Revelations, and it’s fine — until I put my Rift back on, when it switches back to desktop. Repeat ad infinitum.

    Does anyone have any insight?

The xbox controller(wired) seems to work fine except for the left trigger. The left trigger (right click mouse) is to draw your weapon. It does draw the weapon but goes back and forth as if I’m letting go and repressing the button even though I’m holding the trigger. Outside of vorpx the controller works without issue in this game.

I then tried changing the controller from ‘full’ to ‘partial’ and ‘none’. Both partial and none solve the problem, but both introduce a new problem. If I am walking forward and look in any direction, the axis become flipped. So up is down, down is up. As soon as I stop walking, looking around behaves as normal.

I tried binding draw weapon to a new button in game, mapping right click button to a different key and changed it accordingly in vorpx, but the repressing issue remained.

I also tried the button press threshold (default 30) tried 0 to 100 but didn’t solve the issue.

A separate issue I have is I use adaptive 3d instead of geometry for performance issues. With adaptive 3d, tilting my head left or right tilts the whole world along with me, when it should stay level. Not sure if other games have this issue. This issue doesn’t happen in geometry mode.

    Hey!
I thought that this could be interesting to get a better experience with RE2 and make it similar to RE7. I didn’t try it yet, I actually don’t own the game.. but I still wanted to share it, in case you guys find a way to use it in the proper way! Let me know!

    https://github.com/praydog/RE2-Mod-Framework

DL the latest dinput8.dll from AppVeyor. Extract dinput8.dll into your RE2 folder. Dump the github contents into the same folder. DON’T start a game with it “enabled” or it hangs on game load. You must enable it IN GAME, Press INSERT to toggle the menu.

Maybe using one of the resident evil 7 biohazard ‘s profile for vorpx would work for this new resident evil 2 for giving it some Z3D/GD3 aspect ?

    https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Engine:RE_Engine

man, this is the first thing everyone here tried first. didnt work.

If I knew what everyone did I would not have said it out loud.

But overall , was everyone else be able to start the game in the headset without Z3D/GD3 support?

I dont own a Primax and maybe that’s different, but, with the RE7 profile you can start the game in the headset without Z3D/G3D. My additional problem on the headset is the problem that I have in one eye more images than the other (it might be missing a car for example, but is showing the fog in the end).
So, for example for me, the image above is showing one eye. I would want to know if in both eyes have the same images.
From my point of view, the RE7 profile is broken for RE2 and not reusable and needs something from scratch.

add some new information, this is the tool to which I refer in the previous post.
Does anyone know enough about this tool to know if a resolution with aspect ratio 5: 4 without bands is possible?

    https://civilwolf.wordpress.com/2017/11/02/resident-evil-7-fov-ar-trainer/

Could I derive some possible solution through directVR for the official profile with this RE7?
