    Hey Ralf…
Was wondering about something you said earlier about it always being better to hook into a game, as opposed to using desktop viewer.
Is there a way to hook into a game that has GEO-11 3d outputting in SBS or OU?
I occasionally use desktop viewer to take advantage of some of the great Helix Mod patches and play games with GEO11 in 3D.
If I have Vorpx running, it doesn’t like the DLL’s that it finds in the directories that are there from those shader fixes.
Also… even if it did, there would be no way of then asking vorpx to display in SBS or OU, correct?
Just curious if this would be possible. For you to hook into a game and then ask Vorpx to output in either of those formats.
All the additions to desktop viewer sound amazing, so this might be a moot point, anyway.
But when you mentioned it being preferable to hook into games, I wondered if it might be doable.

I’m very excited about this. Wanted to be able to turn off my monitor, while playing in vorpX, for a long time now. And looking forward to the new Desktop Viewer as well – in the past i’ve had trouble playing SBS content judder free in most viewers, maybe this one will be smooth…

Just to double check, Ralf: You wrote earlier that the AUTO-SWITCH detection of WMR when wearing the HMD should be DISABLED, so to avoid WMR messing with M+KB when using vorpX. Will the auto-detection for switching monitors still work with my Reverb G2 when WMR’s option is disabled?

I would prefer to demux your 3D Blu-Rays without Copyrights it into two lossless files (left/right) with MVCtoAVI

    https://3dtv.at/Products/MvcConverter/Index_de.aspx

and after that make a upscale to 4K and encode it with x265 to a mkv file

    Encoder|Converter video FREE PC|Mac

and have fun with vorpx desktop viewer in SBS !

I dont really understand, why PSVR 2 is so much hyped, because there is so much lesser Content than PCVR, no 3D BluRay Support, you can only play games in a 2D Cinema Screen without any Zoom Option.
And this costs 600 Euros for an Headset, which cant used as Standalone Headset, the Controllers work only for 4 Hours.. There is only Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR2, i can play more than 10 Racing Sims on PC right now with better Graphics, thanks to Vorpx and i dont have to pay for Online Gaming ;)

With PCVR and Pico 4 (Just 430 Euros) you can play via Vorpx so many games in really great VR, there are so much more possibilities.

With Virtual Desktop or the Vorpx Desktop Viewer and the right Software, which shows the 3D Blu Rays Movie in SBS, you are able to watch them on your PC Headset easily in SBS Mode.
Or you could rip your own BluRays as SBS Movies and put them on your Standalone PCVR Headset and watch them, without any Console or PC.

PCVR is the future, PSVR2 is just for user, who just own a PS5 and dont like to play with anything else on PC or just want an Plug an Play Experience.

I think it wouldn’t have been difficult to add 3D BluRay support on the PS5…

    But :)

So far the only games I can get to run is fallout 3 and oblivion everything else, even cyberpunk with and with out the mod you guys have on your page I get a white hourglass icon that spins and you here the music.

I have even tried lowering the graphics to the lowest settings available (which of course make the games look like trash) and still the same thing. I can watch 3d SBS movies find in it but I was able to do that in Bigscreen VR. and I can run VR games like skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR on high settings no issues.

Thanks, without reply notifications I missed all your replies :)

Got it to work, thanks much for the instructions @Ralf.

    A question on SBS:
Is there a reason SBS options aren’t available by default in VorpX in-game menu on the Image Settings tab?

Second this. It’s pretty hard to read. If I didn’t already know what the options are I would have a difficult time. Gonna put in another nag about supporting at least top/bottom mode as well. It looks so much better than SBS on every 3D display I’ve ever used (4 and counting.) I don’t know why SBS is so popular, maybe because more devices support it? But top/bottom is light-years better in terms of image quality. I can’t imagine it would be especially hard to implement top/bottom?

    Dear Ralf,
i know, Vorpx is for VR Headsets, not really for 3DTVs, but Vorpx works very Good with G3D Profiles on 3DTVs in SBS Mode :)

My Question is: Would it be possible, to make the Vorpx ingame Menu, which opens by pressing “Delete” much more bigger ? When using the Generic 3D Display Profile ?
This would be really helpful, because it is a little bit too small to read the Vorpx Options Ingame.

    Thanks in Advance :)

Also, and PLEASE!! not to detract from this discussion, as the Vorpx solution is ultimately the best and we need this, I have this running OK with ReShade*.

*Install with ReShade.exe installer from product website (free); run Virtual Desktop; use ‘Half SBS’ (under ‘3D Options’); then run the game (!!be sure to turn off ‘Enable the steam overlay while in-game, and ‘Use desktop game theatre while SteamVR is active’ by right clicking on game in steam left panel prior to running). It looks great – while there is ‘no profile’ it looks pretty 3d to me in that screen. Problem I’m running into is CRAZY CHOPPINESS in some parts of the game – my system spikes for a long period of time and sometimes gives a video card driver version error message. I’m thinking its video card driver and dx12 compatibility issue. Had same issue with Cyber Punk 2077 and Vorpx when it first launched, but when a native profile came out, all was fixed by just running Vorpx, as Vorpx changed the settings appropriately. Hence, the note above saying Vorpx with native support will be best option!!!!

I share this because I have the same concern as your initial comment – i only want to game in 3d as well. I have settled for a screen in VR headset for some titles. The smoothness is nice, but no 3d. This ReShade is a good option. IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY (as of yesterday) WITH THE CALLISTO PROTOCOL!

Just sharing this other option for when Vorpx doesnt work at the time.

I use my rokid air for gaming in SBS. Using the Generic 3D Display. Is there a way to disable this message. instead of pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift everytime?

Iam using the nvidia shield to stream content from my pc to the shield. And using it in bed with SBS support is amazing like in Shadow of the Tomb Raider for instance. Hopefully there will be a solution to this. Mayebe you can integreat the Rokid Air SBS mode in Vorpx. Officially SBS Mode works only on Android devices.

Other than that iam happy with the solution i have now.

    Hey Ghost75757,

kept you waiting huh ? :)

I didnt play any VR last year, my headstrap of my VIVE is not good anymore and i bought an new Pico 4 this year, but sadly it had defective Lenses (its an Quality Product Issue) with Lens Disortions and i had to return it after the first day. I now want to wait until i get my 2nd one.

When i get my 2nd Pico 4 with hopefully perfect lenses, then i cant wait to play this Game in cinematic Mode VR ;)

Thanks for your Guide with this Camera Tool, i cant wait to try it ;)

To answer your Question: The Trick was, to Pause the watcher, when you wanted to play via the Desktop Viewer, because if you didnt pause the watcher, the games automatically hooked then in Vorpx and interfered ;)

By the way, did you already play MGS2 and MGS3 via PCSX2 Emulator with the 3D Plugin ?
    Its great.
Also there is now an 3rd Person Mod for Metal Gear Solid 2 PC Version, if this Game also had an Vorpx Profile ;)

Also, you you can play Twin Snakes via Dolphin VR or via “Normal Dolphin with SBS Mode for Cinematic VR experience.
And there is an great Boneworks Metal Gear Solid Mod. Just for your Interest ;)

So, after a bunch of fiddling around, I was able to get the game to launch in VorpX. However, the 3D is off, meaning my left eye is jacked up, my right eye sees the game correctly (2D). I went through all the Virtual Desktop Full/Half SBS, no dice. When the game launches and on character selection, 3D is great. But once in game, goes to garbage. Any ideas?

If PowerDVD can output to side-by-side, you could try to create a profile based on the ‘SBS 3D Base’ profile that I added to the cloud a few weeks ago. Should work with pretty much everything that creates an SBS image using DX9-12 or OpenGL.

    1. Download the ‘SBS 3D Base’ profile from the cloud in the config app.
    2. Make a copy of the downloaded profile.
    3. Assign the main PowerDVD .exe to the newly created profile.

No guarentee that it will work, but provided PowerDVD actually can output SBS (quite likely), your chances are good. Caveat: may not work for content with DRM though. In that case you’ll probably just get a black image even if hooking the app works correctly.

An alternative option would be the vorpX desktop viewer, which can also be configured to process side by side input (on the image page of the menu).
