    Hello everyone,

After Elon has bought Twitter i am quite confident that another try may be worth it.
Youll find me posting news and new (and old) profiles (SBS Screenshots)
here: now. Additionally if you have a nice SBS VorpX Screenshot you wish to send me, please use this form https://rjkole.com/?x=7 and i’ll make it a tweet :-)

A bit of feedback from me after updating to a 4090. I’ll put some other results in a different thread:

The stand-alone vorpX CyberpunkVR mod absolutely refuses to push my GPU when I am sending to my Pimax 8K-X. CPU usage is fine; I’m not being CPU limited as far as I can tell. All is good when I’m pushing with main version of vorpX to my 3D display instead of my HMD. (I have yet to update my profile database – so I don’t think I have the latest profile for Cyberpunk however. I’ll try to find time to test that soon.)

It does do a very smooth job of things in “Judder Protect” mode, but FPS is pretty low as I’m peaking at about 60% GPU usage. The result is that my performance uplift over my 3080ti is not as great as it should be. A number of settings also refuse to stick and/or seem to be ignored. It reverts to AFR each time for example. The GUI reads Z-Normal, but it isn’t actually using that. I have to flip it back and forth once and then it is fine. Not a big deal. The motion smoothing is also sticking “ON” even when I try to turn it off.

At this point this looks to be specific to the full MOD. Everything I run through regular vorpX got a considerable performance uplift, and Cyberpunk itself got a considerable uplift except when running through your mod. Native VR games also got the expected uplift (mostly.)

P.S. If you add an above/below mode to your 3D Display support, instead of just SBS, I will buy you a pint of Old Peculiar.

It is nor problem of the TV/monitor. SBS is really 2D screen, 3D need activete manually.

Ok Ralf, I now it. Rules is rules.
I have a lot of DX11 games when VorpX work good.

    Awesome.

I don’t think there is much of a difference to any prior profiles you got working with SBS 3D.

Was just a bit difficult to find a base profile with SBS input enabled. The general purpose SBS profile is mainly intended to make that easier. Works with all supported APIs, i.e. DX9-12, as well as OpenGL.

Just a little hint, there are quite some games providing SBS, one i have tested tonight with the SBS VorpX Profile worked right away https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/polynormal/ .
You may search for “-gl_stereo” gamelist on Google.

    Polynormal (SBS)

I havent created a profile for this because there already is one. “SBS 3D Base[vorx]” on the cloud. Play the demo http://dmytry.com/games/ before buing the game. NOTE: The menu is one eye only and way off, so you have to guess where the mouse goes. Though this game looks insane with your favorite music on high resolutions.

    – Ingame switch to SBS Mode

Polynormal 2 seems to be even more promising because it has an inbuilt VR mode.

Nice to see that people still play D1/D2 :-)

@Ralf , have you tested that SBS Profile with dxx-rebirth ?

PS: I also have an SBS OpenGL profile for “Stereo Photo Maker” on the cloud,
which may work with “-gl_stereo” too.
Not shure if its different to “SBS 3D Base [vorpX]”, just wanted to mention it.

… could be interesting to test openGl games in general with “-gl_stereo” and those profiles. Some may even support that without having us told ;-)

There is a regular profile for D2X-XL, which works fine.

If you still want to try dxx-rebirth:

I uploaded a general purpose SBS 3D base profile to the cloud. Should work with pretty much anything that has native SBS (or Over-Under) 3D output.

    1. Download the ‘SBS 3D Base [vorpX]’ profile from the Cloud Profiles page in the config app.
    2. Switch to the Local Profiles page and make a copy of the downloaded base profile
    3. Assign d1x-rebirth.exe to the copy.

Caveat: There is no 100% guarantee that creating profiles that way works. I briefly checked the regular non-stereo dx1-rebirth with the profile, which seemed to work when run windowed. Freezed on launch in fullscreen mode though.

Software offers generic 3d monitor or 3d device output and it will display side by side on your monitor that can be streamed to phone (but since its squished in half by that it wont be as good and as clear as vorpx+real vr headset)

As for try – there is a free mod for cyberpunk, but dont know if you can run that game and if vorpx can output sbs in a free mod as that setting is in vorpx control UI that is part of full software.

Other than that there are no demos or refunds for vorpx.

Hello. Im trying to get VorpX set up with a BenQ x3000i. I have it outputting the SBS image on my projector, how do I combine these into one single image that will work with my shutter glasses? I’m testing it with Rocket League first.

Or does it rely on the TV/projector to do that? As I don’t think the BenQ does this.

I do exactly what you are doing with vorpX all the time. I will switch back and forth from my 3D Display or to my HMD, depending on my mood or the particular game (it’s a *LOT* easier to push the number of pixels I need to make my 3D Display sharp, as compared to my HMD, so the 3D Display works better for extremely demanding titles.)

I’ve never had a single title work on my HMD and NOT on my 3D Display, so yes, something most is wrong somewhere in your setup (I can’t be completely sure, as I’m using vorpX for none of the titles you specifically mentioned.) vorpX offers only 2 generic 3D Display modes; SBS and Red/Green. Try resetting the vorpX profile to the default settings on one of the problem games.

Another issue that comes to mind is that possibly these games are trying to use a G3D profile; having a single eye go completely black is a common issue with G3D profiles that aren’t actually working properly for a title. If you can bring up the vorpX menu in-game, try changing the 3D type and see if that helps.

General tip: On both of the 3D displays I have used in the past I’ve found that running Super Sampling resolutions dramatically improves image quality. So on your 1080p projector, once you have other things working correctly, try pushing a 4K image instead (use the AMD Virtual Resolution – I thin that’s what AMD calls that function.)

I am having an issue getting Vorpx to display 3D signal on my Panasonic 3D TV.

I read some posts on this forum of people using Vorpx to play games on their 3dtv’s. Those posts are now years old, and I’m likely in minority of people still using one. But, I’ve got a 1080p 3d with great image quality so I wanted to see if I could get it up and running with Vorpx.

I selected Generic 3dtv in Devices, and tried both “use windows default” or selecting my tv directly, but when hooking into 3 different games (Left4Dead2, Black Mesa, Portal 2) all I get is a black screen with a diagonal shader across the entire screen. I CAN see the Vorpx version number watermark in lower left of screen and I can hear the game running, but the image isn’t showing up properly on screen.

The few videos available referencing use of Vorpx with a 3DTV already show the game hooked in and running in SBS (side-by-side image) 3D format… I’m not getting even that far.

Also of note, the Del key to show Vorpx menu does not appear with the screen blacked out like that.

Can anyone advise on why I maybe running into this issue?

Ralf, is there a way to program the Desktop Viewer like Steams Virtual Desktop?
Just for pure SBS watch content?

    Reason:

I launch a game with Reshade with Depth3d with Virtual desktop , press F7 to get SBS view = Done.
Issues: really bad performance, crashes in headset on start up often.

I launch a game with Reshade with Depth 3D , launch Vorpx Desktop Viewer and it tries to attach
itself to the game , crashing most of the time mostly due to Reshade being present.
Can you change that? (it works on some games, but mostly it crashes)

Your viewer is so much better, stable and good performance over VD, it would be great to just have the Viewing SBS function without it trying to inject / attach itself to the games and crashing them on start up.

    possible?

You created a Vorpx profile for Outriders?
where? I cant find it on Cloud or Local profiles.
    Did you upload it?

    Sometimes Z3D is better then broken-ish G3D

I see it in Hitman 2 for example. The G3D is hurting your eyes and messes up the graphics
whereas the Z3D looks very realistic and I Can run wiht maximum settings.

My all time favourite way to play is anyway with Vorpx Immersive screen with Ambience background
so Hitman 3 and Hitman 2 are just mint !

Back to Outriders: I got it to work well with REshade and Superdepth and it even launches with Vorpx Desktop Viewer
so I get best of both worlds (not that it often happens as most games crash if you run reshade with vorpx viewer)
    but Outriders looks good.
if you have the Vorpx Profile in ZD3 however I am keen try , but point me in the right direction, I did not find it.
But from what you saying, you add 3D with reshade as well but run in Vorpx? or how do you mean?

Days Gone I love in Vorpx in Immersive screen. Very clean and runs well.
Reshade was not bad but I like Vorpx better, its brighter and 3D is very realistic in my O.

I did not bother with any of the Helixmods as I read its only for older graphic cars, the 3090 is not supported and
to be honest it sounds all too copmplicated to set up ! haha.. I like to click a button in Vorpx and all runs well with some small tweaking.

Same with Deathloop, it started to give me stutter and loop loading issues wiht Reshade and my headset and Virtual Desktop.
With the official Vorpx profile it runs smooth like butter and the 3D is pretty good too. I prefer it over Reshade.

Oh snap, I have Evil Dead listed on my wishlist ! :)
yes Reshade would be good, but I can already see performance issues in my headset running it, so until I get a pure
PC VR headset like the high end Pimax , I wont bother. The Quest 2 has way too many issues on the PC VR and is really a wannabe PC set rather then a pure good working one.
So Evil dead is now blocked on Reshade or you still using it in Single player mode?

Shame Vorpx Viewer clashes so often wiht the Reshade 3d as it tries to attach it self rather then just beeing a stand alone SBS viewer like Virtual Desktop.

I get this from other thread.
    ====================================================================================================
As far as Ive ever used it – I could be wrong, but Vorpx doesnt ‘create’ a SBS image for you to use in Desktop mode. That being said, if the content is SBS (movie or a game with Reshade or Geforce 3d) you can select a setting in the Vorpx Menu while in Desktop Mode under “Image Settings”, go to “Stereo Type” and change to Side by Side.

Again, the -content- has to already be in SBS mode on your monitor for it to create the 3d effect. Thats as far as I know, though. This could not be 100% accurate, but thats what I know about it. Sure someone else can expand on it further, but if youve already got content that is SBS that you want to use, that should make it 3d in the headset.
