Hi, I saw in the 2026 VorpX update that you made some changes to Dishonored 2! Thanks for improving support for my favorite game, and for all the work you do to improve VorpX, Ralf :)
I’m writing this message here because I’ve made some interesting discoveries for Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider that could make it easier to add G3D if someone ever wants to do it.
I discovered that it’s possible to force the removal of certain shaders for D2 and DOTO very easily by adding parameters to the game’s launch shortcut.
For example, to remove the DOF effect and the SSAO effect: “C:\GOG Games\Dishonored 2\Dishonored2.exe” +cvarAdd r_skipDOF 1 +cvarAdd r_skipSSAO 1
With the option “+cvarAdd r_skipPostProcess”, it’s possible to remove a HUGE amount of shaders in the game with this: “C:\GOG Games\Dishonored 2\Dishonored2.exe” +cvarAdd r_skipPostProcess
(Although the majority of shaders are disabled with this option, the Timepiece still works correctly in the mission “A Crack in the Slab“.)
It’s also possible to use a less drastic option, such as: “C:\GOG Games\Dishonored 2\Dishonored2.exe” +cvarAdd r_skipTemporalAA +cvarAdd r_skipShadows +cvarAdd r_skipDOF 1 +cvarAdd r_skipSSAO 1
Using “+cvarAdd r_skipPostProcess”, or disabling certain shaders, could therefore help make G3D support easier, since a large portion of problematic shaders can be disabled at the game’s launch and make it easier to handle G3D.
VorpX could create a batch file next to “Dishonored2.exe” with this command: “Dishonored2.exe +cvarAdd r_skipDOF 1 +cvarAdd r_skipPostProcess”
And ask the player to launch the game using this batch file ;)
Here is the list of shader options that can be disabled and work for D2 and DOTO:
Interesting, the “pirated” version (no crack since it´s unprotected) doesn´t crash…it doesn´t even start loading up and now there is popping up this vorpX warning window:
I sometimes get weird zoom issues with Cyberpunk. I can be playing just fine in Immersive mode, switch to Full VR then it looks like the screen is scaled 200%. Likewise, I can start the game and it appears zoomed.
I usually open the Vorpx menu and toggle between modes, sometimes resetting the visuals section to defaults helps. I’m new to Vorpx so my methods of fixing issues are very much like a sledge-hammer to crack a nut. I’m sure there are more elegant and precise methods.
The default folder for Windows apps is C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. It’s hidden per default, so you have to enable ‘Show hidden files’ in the Explorer options. Caveat: It’s also access restricted to protect apps installed there. Whether you want to change that or not is up to you.
Thank you very much Ralf! I wasn´t aware Microsoft is really hiding a game I actually bought, along with not giving me any rights to check its files, except getting a visible (happily not hidden as well!) shortcut and thanks to dear Mister Gates also the rights to click and start the appropriate app with it.
BTW: If you want to access the folder to add the .exe to a vorpX profile: that is not necessary. Instead simply use the ‘Add Process’ button in the config app while the game is running.
THAT actually also showed me the Crackdown3.exe, which the alt-tab process-list wasn´t showing me or didn´t allowed me to show!
Sadly i still can´t make vorpX hook to it, even with admin-rights. Guess this is because i still haven´t gotten the appropriate full-rights on the WindowsApps-Folder and until to this point i was only able to manage looking into it with using the notebook-trick (starting notebook.exe with admin rights and opening the Winapp-folder then).
So well, WindowsApp-Folder revealed a shitload of 100s of folders, after quickly looking at the biggest one, it showed me some folder with 8 MB, LOL, no sign of any Game-Folder with approx. 30 GBs and neither any sign of the Crackdown3.exe.
Enough with this crap, i am goin to download the cracked pirate version and try if vorpX can hook to that one, i already bought the game anyway so i am still a lawful person LOL!

Doing so opens a list of currently running processes, so you don’t have to browse to the file location at all to add it to a profile.
BTW2: Some Game Pass games aren’t hookable either way though since they might be compiled in a way that makes them run inside a sandbox. That only affects a minority of Game Pass games though. Not sure whether that’s the case for Crackdown 3 or not.
BTW3: For most Game Pass games you can select a different folder since quite a while, Microsoft at some point realized that many PC gamers expect their games to be moddable. Apparently that’s not the case for Crackdown 3 though.
Not enough with making the installation procedure of original MICROSOFT-Games annoying and complicated as fu**, let alone succesfully being able to locate .exe- and other installation-files as its usually easy with every other game installed on my rig and an even troublesome search for the original installation-folder, as MICROSOFT doesn´t even allow to install games in own selected folders, it looks like i am not even having rights to dig into the appropriate gaming folders of my choice coz of all those annoying microsoft-security things obviously.
I am now having the problem of just being unable to find the frigging -exe file for CRACKDOWN 3 (Game-Engine Unreal 4) to make vorpX hook to it. According to certain forums, the appropriate -exe should be in some kind of “…App”-Folder but my search for that, along with all other kinds of searches in all kinds of microsoft-folders and subfolders, are still negative.
Since i don´t really feel like trying to search for the goddamn files for the rest of this day, i guess i am just trying my luck how the game will run on vorpX´s VR-Desktop without hooking.
So if anyone has experience with those damn MICROSOFT-Games and where to find their goddamn files´n folders or how they work with vorpX, any answer is appreciated.
As an irrelevant sidenote, i will never ever support this trashy company ever again and rather pirate their games, that way i am at least having a far easier way of installing and de-installing games along with finding the files i need to find, rather than wasting hours searching for those damn things.
I’m happy to report that the Battle Cry demo is working great in G3D. A little heavy like all new games, but all effects are 3D. Once you turn off the cartoon colors, nametag icons and HUD, you can get a very immersive first-person battle experience that feels much more convincing than what you see in the typical videos. Cloud profile and recommended settings:
Battle Cry of Freedom (G3D)
Video
-use a 4:3 resolution (or any desired ratio can work in this case)
1920 x 1440 – performance
2560 x 1920 – balanced
2880 x 2160 – quality
2480 x 2260 (my own custom resolution optimized for FOV + clarity of my Reverb)
Again, windowed mode works best here, so make sure your desktop is set to a resolution equal to or higher than you will use in game.
-set FOV to 88
-Anti Aliasing = TAA
-turn off Color Correction
-Medium graphics and shadows recommended, with Textures on High
Misc.
-offset 3rd person camera side to max 0.3
-default zoom on 3rd person camera to -2.0
-enable Hide HUD (also choose which elements the HUD can display)
-turn off icons and nametags
-auto aim down sights (optional, I prefer to toggle with hotkey)
Keys to assign
-toggle 1st person
-toggle ADS aim down sight
-Character camera rotation (free-look)
-toggle HUD
*try the alternative “crackling” sounds for guns. Music can be turned off
*vorpX Shadow Treatment can toggle off sunshine if you want a bleaker overcast lighting
*tested on HP Reverb with mouse/keyboard
I encourage anyone interested in war games to give this a try this week while it’s free. Defending a fortress under siege when the 100+ enemy are pouring over the walls in gunsmoke, then loud close quarters chaos ensues – it’s epic to witness and intense to play.
A better idea of first person gameplay to scan through, but it’s better in VR of course :)
Turning off TAA (ini tweak) does indeed eliminate (or at least greatly reduce, there is then so much aliasing it’s hard to be absolutely sure) the halos that direct VR brings to the table. It’s also *vastly* sharper at any given resolution of course, although the decrease in resolution necessary to run without DLSS means that distant detail suffers greatly as there just aren’t enough pixels to work with. Combined with
Unfortunately turning TAA off means DLSS won’t work, as it is for some reason tied the the single worst form of AA ever invented. I think TAA simply stands of Terrible Anti Aliasing.
I was also unable to turn the in-game AMD upscaling on, although I have not really tried to troubleshoot that issue yet. It may be that it won’t work with RT on, I seem to remember reading something about that.
No doubt cyberpunk is a tough nut to crack. At this point I could almost certainly achieve sufficient performance to run Direct VR 3D in cinema mode with TAA and DLSS off, but with no way to inject a different AA method it’s unplayably aliased and shimmery.
Solution (again) that comes to mind first is working to make sure vorpX plays well with ReShade. It’s just the simplest solution out there for fixing recalcitrant games.
It has to be something to do with the Origin client, right? Unlike the previous games I think it has to always be active in ME3 due to the multiplayer part, or something like this? Then Origin is interferring with Vorpx? I’ve tried a bunch of things like removing the igo64.dll file in Origin to disable the overlay but still no success. Maybe it would work to have a cracked version that can somehow start ME3 without Origin?
Im having the same issue with social club, game works fine with VORPX off. But when on i get error 4. I am using a cracked game, so i imagine its probably a conflict of vorpx and the social club bypass. Not sure if anyone else has this? (And before someone says buy the game, yes thats a option. But i already own the game on ps4. Not a fan of buying multiple versions of the same game). Id appreciate any advice and help with this, thanks
Hi guys had the same problem over a year because I have 3 games with the name game.exe on my vorpx tryout list (Its reserved for a other game). Also I wanted to give Inside a deeper look in exchange for switching off some shaders ;) . But as you know in official profiles you cannot use the shadertool. The only way to achieve this would be to rename the exe file of the game. But here is the problem gaming clients such as steam prevent you from doing so…
One option would be looking for the cracked.exe to get rid of steam but Dont do that !
For Steam I found a working program which is able to rename your exe and save it to your local steam configuration. https://steamedit.tg-software.com
Make yourself a picture all I know Ive tried and it worked :)
Yeah, Sony is known for their over the board DRM or even rootkits in their products…
But seriously, I think they use Denuvo with this one plus the normal Steam stuff.
It´s not yet been cracked btw, but that is another topic we won´t further discuss here.
I just also tried to fiddle with DS and Vorpx, but no luck so far.
thanks for the info, dx12 seems to stump 3rd party software devs. so i’m not surprised it’s not working yet in g3d. hopefully somebody in 3dvision community will have some spare time to crack it. it’s great to have both vorpx amd 3dvision for 3d gaming.
