ParticipantInteresting. Have to check it out. Have been looking at it for a while, but the gameplay always seemed a bit slow.
You should check out Vanishing of Ethan carter if you like that one. Amazing graphics as well.dborosev
Participant@aerowyn,
I definitely understand that for some people thats a requirement.
I don’t know if my 2 decades+ of playing with kb+mouse or what, but I can easily get just as immersed that way. My brain doesn’t even notice what’s moving my vision- my head or my mouse.
I think a lot of people would feel the same way, but most people just want Full VR mode without looking back or trying other “lesser” options.
To each their own. I’ll definitely keep trying different modes with various games, but especially for anything with shooting involved, I love cinema mode.dborosev
Participant@aerowyn,
The thing is, in cinema mode, you don’t need to turn your head. You use the mouse. So you don’t see the edge of the screen.dborosev
ParticipantDaaaamn, does mankind divided ever look good in Z-Normal cinema mode!
Settings: 1080p, -80 distance, 1.3 3d strength, wide FOV
It seriously looks as good as geometry. And I can jack up the graphics options. I don’t even care about G3D for this one anymore!
Kicks ass Ralf!dborosev
ParticipantThanks Ralf, I’ll give it a try.
The things like about Cinema mode however, are that you can run it at higher resolution (You dont need to maintain the super high framerate for head movement), and that for shooting, you get to use the mouse aiming, not head aiming. Much more accurate and feels better. (for me anyways)
And it really feels much the same, immersive-wise.dborosev
ParticipantFor anyone who experiences the warped vision on head movement issue, and things not looking like they’re moving right, I highly suggest trying cinema mode no environment, with a distance offset of -70.
It keeps the VR feel without all the headache.dborosev
ParticipantHey Ralf,
I was in cinema mode at the time, so not sure if that’s it.dborosev
ParticipantHey Ralf – couple of things on the Unity profile:
– Its very choppy, not sure why.
– Is there a fov setting or hack you know of?
– Couldn’t copy and use it for black flag or syndicate. I take it they are very different?dborosev
ParticipantMake Mass effect Andromeda Available!! LOL.
I know you’re just joking edo, but I’ll hunt you down if you stand between me and Andromeda. ;) I’ve been looking forward to that game for almost 2 years.dborosev
ParticipantOk cool. I’ll start playing as-is, hopefully you’ll have reason to do a quick hot-fix. ;)

ParticipantThe rise of tomb raider profile has an option in the Vorpx settings for using the sbs, but the mankind divided one does not, thats why I ask.
I thought maybe you missed adding an option to the DE:MD menu.
I use that in Tomb raider through vorpX and it works well.(PS: the built-in SBS mode is pretty crappy in Mankind Divided for some reason, horrible pixelation, at least when run with virtual desktop. Maybe vorpx would be better?)

ParticipantAllow me to be the first to say… this should be an exciting weekend!
Can’t wait to try a couple of these!dborosev
ParticipantIts pretty new, but maybe Ralf can let us know if it is doable when he gets a chance. I generally have not had much success with using other profiles for games.

Participant@andy
Pretty sure Ralf is saying that vorpx directly hooks in to games and is therefore faster. Not sure why the runaround. Maybe he’s answered this question before too many times? Or maybe he can’t make claims to what it can do?dborosev
ParticipantRise of tomb raider already has built in geometry 3D, so I don’t understand what extra you’re getting there.
