Should it run ok on Z3d with a 1070ti?
hemingwaysghostParticipantYes I use Oculus Quest with Link to play games with Vorpx.
hemingwaysghostParticipantWhat custom resolution is recommended for FO76? Or do we need to add all possible custom resolutions and Vorpx will automatically select one?
hemingwaysghostParticipantIt’s not working out too well so far. In the prologue you’re supposed to press a button to use a phone, but couldn’t make out what it was. Looked almost like an upside down exclamation point. Like a big dot with a line coming down. And there doesn’t seem to be an option for DirectVR, which I assume must not be supported. The screen was not filling the display fully either, so the Full VR mode seemed more like cinematic. Appreciate any tips if there’s a way to improve on any of that. Could be the EGS version or maybe my settings are off. Or is that what others have experienced?
hemingwaysghostParticipantI run my PC as a headless ghost with a plug I got from Amazon. Works fantastic. I didn’t even have a monitor for a year or so, but now have the PC connected to my TV.
hemingwaysghostParticipantI’m somewhat with you on this one… the game is gorgeous and the physics are smooth but there’s not much to do with them. Almost all of the objects are just pointless junk. I found there was both too little ammo but also too few enemies and so it wasn’t that challenging a lot of the time. I prefer a more action packed shooter like Bioshock. The slower pace would have been ok if there’d been a lot more enemy variety and therefore a lot more unexpected encounters. More boss fights would have helped as well. But with only three guns, no melee, and maybe a half dozen enemy types it just wasn’t quite as exciting as I’d have liked. I wish you could cash resin in for ammo and crank up the enemy volume by 3x, but hopefully there will be some really great mods out that are more challenging.
I’ve been slowly working through Boneworks and it’s a lot closer to what I was hoping for. The puzzles are a nice break and the action is heavy enough to be engaging without being so challenging that it becomes frustrating and there’s actually stuff to do with all the things you can interact with.
hemingwaysghostParticipantThanks Ralf. That short cut will help a lot. The inventory issue happens even with edge peek, but it isn’t always like that. Sometimes it appears correctly and I’m not sure what is making the difference.
hemingwaysghostParticipantAnyone have any tips on their setup?
It runs pretty smooth with a couple issues that could use some tweaking…
Only half the pip-boy appears even with edge peak.
Sometimes the controls lock up until I switch to desktop and click on the window… I had a similar problem with Bioshock Infinite and switching to full screen helped there I think but doesn’t seem to be working here.
There have also been several times where I got the spinning hourglass, but that may have been resolved after I reset SteamVR. Have to play some more tonight to see for sure.
hemingwaysghostParticipantDo you know if it works better than through Virtual Desktop? I tried it briefly yesterday and I think there was some improved performance but that may be purely like a placebo effect.
hemingwaysghostParticipantGame is working really well for me now after turning antialiasing off, but I can’t get a directvr scan to work anymore. Keeps saying it timed out or crashed… anyone know how to fix?
hemingwaysghostParticipantAny graphics card settings that should be turned off or other suggestions for improving performance with the Outer Worlds? FPS is pretty low even with in game settings on medium, low shadows and low resolution. It did seem to run better last night though.
hemingwaysghostParticipant@Ralf does this update include functionality for The Outer Worlds as well?

The graphics aren’t looking great though and it’s very sluggish. This is the epic stores version. Instead of using the TheOuterworlds.exe I had to use the file that is in the Indiana folder (Indiana something .exe)
