Thanks Dave, tried your suggestion but it didn’t work for me. Rescanned many times and kept my sight fixed on one point. It was success every time, but I still wasn’t able to aim with my head unfortunately. Only the thumbstick can move the white dot in the middle of the screen.

    Hi Ralf/guys

Using the official profile from Ralf and it runs very well with Dying Light 2, I have no problem running DirectVR scanner either, so everything seems in order.

Except one thing: the headsync seems not what I expected? When I start the game, before I run DirectVR scanner, I can aim with my head normally. After I run DirectVR scanner (success) everything looks awesome but I can no longer aim with my head. In order to turn around or look around I have to use the gamepad’s thumbstick.

Is there something I’m missing? Is there any setting I can tweak to get both DirectVR scanner and head aim working at the same time? Thanks

    Sorry, I said Z-Adaptive above, I meant Z-Normal.

Renaming the files worked well to get the immersive functionality back to normal in RDR2, but GTA V (which used to work well with the previous version in immersed mode) is still showing some problems:

. Hooking goes well, but only Geometry works mostly well. However, it’s a bit heavy and things like clothes show an uncomfortable kind of shine on them
. I would rather use Z-Adaptive but there is a weird displaced 3d rectangle on the left-bottom side that I would like to get rid of
. Resolution in settings is stuck on 1920×1080, if I try to change the resolution in-game while hooked in with Vorpx the games hangs every time.

Is it actually possible for me to just use the previous Vorpx version? I was perfectly happy with the functionality in that version for all of my games. I understand the new version brings a lot of features that most people want, but for me it’s basically broken most of my gaming, so it’s a big problem, especially since I no longer play in pancake mode, I prefer to play everything with Vorpx.

Thanks Ralf! Your support is always so appreciated, you’re the best :D I will try this later today :D
It’s not that I don’t like the FullVR support, it’s just that I don’t like first person games hahaha :D I only like playing RDR2 in 3rd person mode, so forced 1st person is kind of a deal breaker for me :D

But now that you mention the possibilities of your new FullVR mode I will give it a try and try to think of it more like a HL Alyx experience, see if that works for me :D

However I must mention that I have been playing other games such as Nier Automata and Shadow of the Tomb Raider with Vorpx lately, they look very very good :D

I also experienced the same problem after update, it wouldn’t hook anymore.

Reinstalled Vorpx and RDR2, now I have a different problem. The game starts in DirectVR mode just fine. Except I don’t want to play in DirectVR/FullVR mode, so I change to Immersive mode, turn off head tracking, turn off DirectVR, turn off Gamepad Thumbstick option so it does not interfere with my buttons. I’ve done these actions with plenty of other games, I like to play this way.

But now with RDR2 there are a number of problems:

    – Pressing the pad on my DS4 controller does no longer work. I cannot change camera from 1st to 3rd person this way, only with the keyboard, pressing V.
    – Arthur can no longer walk backwards, only forward. Walking sideways or at an angle is also very sluggish, weird thing there
    – I’m able to move the camera under the ground and point it upwards at Arthur (ground becomes transparent)

This is rendering the game unplayable. Any tips on what I could do to remedy this? Before this update Vorpx had been working perfectly ever since I got a new computer back in march, I had not seen any Vorpx problems at all.

Adding myself to this thread. I’m also curious to know if anybody has tested RDR2 on Vorpx with the new Nvidia DLSS mode. Is there any apparent FPS improvement?

You’re right, I didn’t think much about the range (or the number of devices connected) because I have the router right next to the computer, and that’s the room where I play :D But obviously that would be a factor for people who don’t want their setup their way :D

Oh definitely, VD is in a difficult position now, anything it comes up with will be copied asap for AirLink. But to be honest, the one thing that impacts my wireless performance the most is the router.

Everywhere online they keep telling you to buy this or that expensive router. I have now tested a number of expensive routers, both ax and ac, and at the end of my testing that one that performs the best is my old trusted TP-Link AC1750 :D No jitters, clear graphics everywhere and smooth motion. None of the other routers were able to offer that, I was surprised that even the most expensive AX routers had crap performance with the Quest 2 :D

Only thing I noticed is that when my wife logged in to Netflix my performancce would suffer for like 10 seconds. So I bought another AC1750 as dedicated access point only for the Quest 2 and now Half-Life Alyx runs smooth like butter on Ultra graphics setttings, turns out having an additional AC1750 dedicated actually improved also the general quality of the graphics and the motion, which I did not see coming because it already looked very good :D Totally recommend the AC1750 if anyone is having performance issues with AirLink, it’s very solid and really plug and play.

Maybe Ralf can give us a clue on this one?

As a reference, I read in these forums that people are enjoying the FIFA soccer game in 3D, and I also know myself that Diablo 3 opens normally with Vorpx in 3D (although it’s not one of the most impressive ones IMO). So I’m assuming NBA 2K21 should work in 3D but maybe there is some other impossibility stopping it from happening? Calling on the experts :D

So today I tested Days Gone at 90 hz over Airlink maxed out at 200mbps. Otherwise same setup I mentioned above. No big difference from when I played it at 72hz the last days, at least that I could perceive, but I had the Vorpx frame rate indicator on and although it mostly stayed around 72fps, sometimes it did hit up to 90fps, so I guess it does like having more headroom. The 120hz feature over Airlink has not unlocked for me yet (can’t see it even though I’m all updated to v29), but now I’m looking forward to having even more headroom with 120 hz when it finally shows up in my system. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I found this post from 2016 that adresses the issue of forcing Geometry:

    Forcing G3D

I don’t believe anything has changed in regards of forcing Geometry on a game like Days Gone, but perhaps Ralf has new information since this is 5 years later.
