mr_belowskiParticipant
yeah.. last night’s CET update fixes it
mr_belowskiParticipantDOH, there was a CET hotfix last night that I missed
https://github.com/maximegmd/CyberEngineTweaks/issues/836
Will try again
mr_belowskiParticipantThat’s exactly what I did – reinstalled the mod, then reinstalled CET. My post was unclear, sorry :)
Is there a step I’ve missed or got backwards here? Before the last small game hotfix it was working (latest mod + latest CET). Uninstalling the mod, then reinstalling, then putting the latest CET in hasn’t fixed it so I’m a bit stuck
mr_belowskiParticipanti uninstalled then reinstalled the mod, and reinstalled CET, but it no longer works for me. It was OK before today’s small game patch, nothing changed except the patch (I reinstalled CET and the mod after i found it broken). I’ve not deleted and reinstalled the entire game.
I get no 3D reconstruction for DirectVR (but z-normal seems to work), and full VR mode doesn’t work – it’s just an immersive screen but with a slightly bigger screen than regular immersive screen mode. It’s definitely using the mod – i get the intro / help screens about gestures etc
mr_belowskiParticipantThere’s a separate vr mod for gtr2 and for automobilsta (which is very similar to rfactor), which should provide a better vr experience than vorpx can with these games. Should he easy enough to Google for it, or find it on Crew Chief’s forum
mr_belowskiParticipantFinally got a couple of hours to get stuck into this last night. Wow. Night City in VR is absolutely breathtaking.
Thanks for all the hard work on this. I’m lucky enough to have a fairly high end system and the experience is really something. It’s great to have all the options – I find myself alternating between Z-Normal and full 3D rendering. The world is unbelievably compelling and engrossing (and oddly unsettling too), just walking to places has recaptured some of the original amazement I felt when first getting into VR back in 2016.
Top stuff.
Performance seems good to me, my aging brain is too fuzzy to be troubled by AER and halo artifacts so it all looks great. I do have 1 question tho. When I select a Narrow custom resolution like 2048×2160, the horizontal FoV is noticably reduced compared to a 4×3 res like 2240×1680. Is this the expected behaviour?
mr_belowskiParticipantAfter adding custom resolutions to my nVidia CP, I tried to change the res in Titanfall2 using the Vorpx in-game menu (settings like “ultra”, “phenomenal” etc). I can change these and Vorpx pops a message up when i save to say that the game probably needs a restart. When I restart the game a similar message is always shown (“Vorpx changed some settings, this probably requires a game restart”) but the resolution never seems to change. Am I missing something here?
mr_belowskiParticipantyou’d think that if they’re going to chart £55 for their game, they’d at least test the launcher.
I know this is all a matter of opinion, but does it feel like the game will be fully playable in VorpX? That’s not meant to be a complaint or a dig, I think VorpX is ace but some games are more manageable than others when played in VorpX
mr_belowskiParticipantI know this is an old thread, but in case anyone’s wondering what happened to Quake 4 support, with the current version of VorpX is absolutely perfect. It runs well, looks good and is a proper old-skool shooter. Bloody marvellous :)
mr_belowskiParticipantAny chance you could fix the fonts on the installer? The auto updater always fails for me because it tries (and fails) to overwrite CabinCondensed-Bold.ttf, CabinCondensed-Medium.ttf, CabinCondensed-Regular.ttf and CabinCondensed-SemiBold.ttf fonts (in Windows/Fonts). When the auto updater runs it exits immediately when it encounters a font it can’t update. When you run vorpX_WebSetup.exe manually you can click ‘ignore’ for each of these font errors and proceed with the installation.
I seem to remember at least one other person had the same issue. It’s not a blocker or anything, just a minor irritation that might possibly be an easy fix
mr_belowskiParticipantThanks, I’ll give it a try later
mr_belowskiParticipantSo does that mean this issue will be fixed if I switch to a different 3D reconstruction option?
mr_belowskiParticipantI tried quake4 with the latest release and something isn’t quite right. It feels like the left and right eye images are out of sync when you turn quickly. The depth perception breaks down and then reappears when the image isn’t moving. It also feels like something similar is happening when enemies and other stuff are moving around quickly. It all gets very confusing, which is a shame because it looks and runs nicely when stuff isn’t moving around.
I followed all the instructions and haven’t messed about with anything other than the stuff recommended by vorpx.
This is with a Nvidia 1080 on the latest drivers
Dec 22, 2017 at 10:00am in reply to: Nothing will open up with VorpX in VR, need help please. #168920mr_belowskiParticipantDo you use ReVive? VorpX was attempting to hook this and adding it to the list of vorpx exclusions fixed a similar issue for me
mr_belowskiParticipantAre you using ReVive? I had an issue where Vorpx would try to hook with the ReVive process and after that nothing worked – I added revive.exe to the list of processes the vorpx was set to ignore and it appeared to fix it
