I don’t know if it works, but there is a profile in the cloud. It just doesn’t have g3d in the title and it’s a different user name, but your vorpx id doesn’t have to match your forum id, so it’s probably the profile in question.

And now it’s back. Wierd. Maybe a caching issue.

The one post in particular that I noticed missing was a rather long technical discussion of frame smoothing. It wasn’t my post – I filed it as tldr until later, but then it was gone when I went back. Can’t imagine why it would have been axed by a spam filter.

This is a list of dx11 games.

Unreal Engine and Unity games usually work well with vorpx so you may want to try one of those. Bioshock Infinite, most if not all of the Batman games, Borderlands 3…most games published after 2014 are dx11.

Again, the api used may or may not be relevant – at one point I couldn’t hook dx9 games but dx11 worked. Game overlays can cause similar problems, so I’d suggest just a quick test to see if it’s a general problem.

Hmm, didn’t realize you were running this without a profile or I wouldn’t have confused you with the 3d reconstruction stuff. Last time I checked though, the wrc8 profile didn’t reconstruct 3d for wrc9. I think the RE7 profile works for wrc9 if you want to try that.

Unless your game pass version is different from the official profile, the exe is oride.exe and should be hooked automatically. If it’s a different .exe, it could be a sandboxed version that can’t be hooked.

I used my own profile. I don’t remember what the base profile was, I just created it because the only profile in the cloud at the time was not very good. It’s still a work in progress though – I figured I’d check out the new cloud profiles at some point to see if they were any better than what I’d slapped together.

One specific reason is that DMOMM is a directx 9 game whereas DXMD is directx 11.
Which may or maybe not be related to the issue you’re having. Have you tried other dx11 titles?

Could be a game update. I just ran it for about 10 minutes without any freeze ups. I didn’t check GOG to see if I have the latest, but I’m pretty sure I don’t.

One other thing – make sure you’re running in dx11 mode. The game supports dx12 but the profiles don’t.

Another option for z3d is to run the game in dx12 mode and use the Horizon Zero Dawn profile. I get significantly better performance doing that, and the 3d seems to be a little better.

You have your 3d reconstruction modes and display modes confused. Immersive mode can be 2d, or z3d, or g3d, depending upon the reconstruction mode you’ve set in vorpx main settings. The default mode for most games is g3d, which is probably why you’ve seen a large performance drop. If you have 3d turned off, your performance should be near what you would get on your monitor minus a small amount of overhead to send the display to headset. Your fps, of course, will be limited to the hmd refresh rate.

Nevermind. According to DSOGaming, even a 3080 can’t run the game at 60fps, and the latest patch degraded performance further.

Have you tried all of the ghostrunner profiles? I know with at least one of them someone used a unity profile on a unreal engine game and it isn’t very pretty, to say the least, and probably isn’t all too stable.

In any event you may have better luck switching your client to SteamVR from Oculus or vice versa.

I’m beginning to think that g3d is not going to be possible, even if I get the shaders fixed, because the game’s performance is really bad. At 1080p and the lowest graphics settings I can only get 47 fps without vorpx, 30 with z3d, and 20 with g3d,at 97-100% gpu utilization.

I’ll still try to make a usable profile for it, time permitting. Maybe someday I’ll be the proud owner of a 3080 and can actually use it.
