i found a file in the game dir called EQGraphicsDX9.dll
this has a reference to d3d9.dll

nothing in the eqgame.exe should i change that file? with v3d9.dll ?

d3d9.dll needs to be renamed to v3d9.dll correct? since VorpX has a conflict? But after renaming it Dgvoodo2 won’t work.

I do get the DGVoodo logo when I dont change the d3d9.dll.

When searching in the Hex editor do I just do a text search? Or do i need to know the hex/binary equiv of d3d9.dll?

I only see these files in the directories. not many .dll relating to this.
    EQGfx_Dx8.dll
    EQGraphicsDX9.dll
    DSETUP.dll

Though at the moment VorpX collides with the D3D9.dll in the game folder, you can use the following workaround to get a game running.

    – Put the latest WIP or DX9 release (as described above) and DGVoodoo2 config app in your game folder
    – make DGVoodoo2 settings
    – try out if game renders properly with DGVoodoo2
    in case of success:
    – rename d3d9.dll to v3d9.dll
    – MOVE and Copy v3d9.dll into your windows/system32 and windows/syswow64 folder
    – Copy/move dgvoodoo.conf into windows/system32 and windows/syswow64 folder
    – HEXEDIT games exe, replace any “d3d9.dll” with “v3d9.DLL” (backup original)
    – Copy VorpX DGVoodoo2 profile
    – Add game to profile
    – Run Game

Hi I – rename d3d9.dll to v3d9.dll and bring up a hex editor but no d3d9.dll can be found. If the file is renamed to v3d9.dll dgvoodo2 does not seem to be working. Also vorpx does not seems to like using the Dgvoodo2 profile.

Is this post still valid? if i have d3d9.dll in the game folder VorpX gives a warning about it.

Also when i run dgvoodo2 to make a config it does not alter the game.exe

    advise appreciated

    Hi again,

So I am experimenting with some unsupported games that managed to hook to VorpX being Everquest Titanium Edition (2006 directX 9) and WWII Online (some custom game engine) both I got to hook. Pretty neat stuff! The mighty VorpX!

I think EQ let me chose what 3d Mode , but WWII does not have the 3d mode enabled in vorpX. EQ looks like cardboard cutouts but that game allways looked like that.

So what is a good resolution to start with for such situations? 2560×1440?
I am not sure if these games would allow such high resolutions.

I will go with a safe resolution you recommend.

Do you recommend using DgVooodo also?

    Thanks

sorry one more question to add to this. Should i revisit DGVoodu? now that i can hook to EQ with Vorpx? Will running that program do anything for 3d modes in Vorpx like geometry or zbuffer

the game is direct x 9 would some type of API translator/emulator whatever it does in DGVoodu make it run like directx 11 and hence better 3d in vorpx?

    Thanks

I was able to get head tracking to partially work by holding down the right mouse button as that key combo was needed. do i use open track for this or what is the best way?

    Big update here!

Ok I got EQ1 to hook! Using the make shortcut method.

Now the next problem is that moving the headset around does not move the character or its head. Would opentrack be able to emulate keys or mouse+key combinations?

    Getting closer yes!

    Thanks

    Hum,

I am using EQ Titanium Edition with EQEmulator. The release date for it was 2006. I think it is actually using Direct X 9. Does that change anything? Regarding using dgVoodoo2 or are there other things to try that might open up any options?

    Thanks!
