Dungeon Keeper 1 with VorpX hahahaha ! Better then Skirim and GTA5 togeter :-)
RJK_ParticipantHello Guys, i wonder how you managed to enter a path in the dosbox window.
I have tried different versions around that 20140117 build but vorpx destroys the backslash. VorpX = OFF = Normal backslash , VorpX = ON backslash is cripled, looks like an ACSII 192 └ . Also ESC behaves funny , it prints a backslash+return at the same time. :-/
EDIT: Right now i am using a workaround in the config using the autoexex options. So no important error.

Performance? #172133RJK_ParticipantAssuming you are using the vive pro you are probably using a relatively high resolution. This is the first thing i would change to improve FPS. Just lower the res. slightly, this might already help. Using widescreen res. slows your game down also, use 4:3 or similar for example instead of 16:9.
Mar 30, 2018 at 5:14pm in reply to: I tried using VLC with Vorpx (18.14 for the first time today and it just crashes #172095RJK_ParticipantYou must use MPC-HC or MPC-HC64, Not MPC. There is a free VR player out called Whirligig if you dont get it to work. VLC doesnt work with me either.
RJK_ParticipantHavent played any other shooters in that mode yet.The thing is pushing 3D Depth ruins Sniper Mode. When you leave it to 0 sniper mode is ok.
RJK_ParticipantCan you show us an SBS screenshot of that game ?
RJK_ParticipantI havent received any help yet on this, though i started something like a “How to”, may be this way i can collect some “how tos” or other stuff.
The “Wiki” can be found here now:
RJK_ParticipantIt does not make sense to use reshade+Depth3D with vorpX.
You can test that by changing the output mode of reshade. VorpX will not follow that because its hooks into the game, not in the reshade ouput. What you are seeing in the HMD when using reshade+Depth3D is the vorpX hook, not the reshade hook.
– VorpX doent hook into the reshade output, it only looks like it
– VorpX hooks into the game providing Z-Buffer 3D
– if Depth3D would work with SBS+VorpX for example (that was my hope too when i tried) it only would provide Z-buffer 3D.
– so using VorpX providing Z-buffer 3D is much faster (thats what Ralf said) in any case—
There is still a bunch of confusion about G3D, Z-Buffer and stuff, many people havent ever seen a proper 3D so a z-buffer 3D already amazes them.
Im my eyes the main target for vorpX should be to make a G3D possible for any 3D game (older ones too !), this would wipe out all needless testing with other software forever.RJK_ParticipantToday i tried Sudeki, a quite similar game (no G3D yet) with vorpX and youre right Z3D can give such type of games quite a 3D effect.
RJK_Participantand i had a blast,
the 3D effect probably comes out so good because as far i can tell by looking at some screenshots, the game seems some kind of a comic drawing, am i right ?
Yes, i am talking about a 3D-Vision Monitor. I have bought a couple of used ones recently including 3D glasses, they are quite cheap at the moment. I would recommend the ASUS VG-278H with the inbuilt emitter, this is the best monitor you can buy. Dont buy Acer, i had one bofore, they have problems with displaying 3D properly.
RJK_ParticipantI play such games rather with 3D-Vision where the 3D effect is more real. For my taste Z3D and stuff is a joke. Just position yourself close to a 3D Object and compare it with a 3D Vision view and youll know what i am talking about.
Do you own 3D-Vision ? IF not its really worth trying as long vorpX doesnt cover more games.Mar 24, 2018 at 3:02pm in reply to: Serious stuttering in Skyrim – please help, I'm getting desperate :) #171962RJK_ParticipantNot sure what you mean by the 2 render options,
I have vorpX on another PC- Go through the ingame menu until you find a page with two buttons below each other, one is saying something like fluid whatever, the other async something. Try around different settings see what happens while keeping an eye on the framerate.
Mar 24, 2018 at 10:36am in reply to: Serious stuttering in Skyrim – please help, I'm getting desperate :) #171953RJK_ParticipantWhat you could try in the VorpX ingame menu, press ALT+F to monitor your framerate, if its not at 90 play with the two renderoptions . Whenever i get framedrops, playing with these can help sometimes. Is V-Sync OFF in the NVidia Control panel ? I would optimize these settings for better performance anyhow. I noticed occasional resests when enabling 3D Vision for example.
Besides I could imagine that steam has updated something in the background without asking you. I dont use steam, only when there is something i cant go on without. I wouldnt be even a member of this shameless service if i hadndt been forced into registration through my VIVE purchase. I have installed steam and steamvr once and made an immediate backup of the steam and steamvr folder. They download so much shit in the background once you are online and you never know what they are doing, once i saw a “Windows DirectX Driver” beeing downloaded !!?? They dont give a damn about disabling “downloads”.
If you have a backup of your steam and steamv folder, overwrite the recent ones. Watch out that you dont lose your games though. Thats just an idea. – Run SteamVR directly, not through the steam window. I think its the dashboard something .exe you can call directly without entering steam. I have a shortcut on my desktop for that. I think that could be possible with any steam game.
But as you mentioned running another game went out perfectly this must have something to do with your skyrim settings. May be different things come together, like i am not shure if your ramspeed is a bit low for higher demanding games)
BTW: BIG THUBMS UP FOR VORPX, not dealing with the so much hated steam servie for selling the product.
RJK_ParticipantHellgate Screenshot (Depth Demo)
enjoy
RJK_ParticipantI was talking 360 degree beginners crap in my above posting, best forget about it.
An SBS screenshot is just good enough.
