Participantoh and btw i think the HUD depth in the default profile is painful to the eyes. I just pushed it all the way back.

Participantrunning a bit hitchy while using G3D. Turning down settings doesn’t seem to help much. Just me or anyone got any ideas how to improve the performance?

Participantdoes this work with the GOG version

Participantgot it to work using the cloud profile and running in window mode. Would still prefer an official profile from Ralf as this one feels like it could be a bit better. Bit of an issue when using higher resolutions the hud gets smaller.

ParticipantI thought the HL1 mods weren’t compatible with modern headsets?!?! been looking to play HL1&2 in full VR for a while
Playing HL: Field Intensity rn with vorpx. Some of them work with dr. beef lambda1vr. Would like an official hl1 profile from Ralf. Theres something a little off with the fullvr profile from the cloud. Would prefer it if it was using 4:3 aspect ratio rather than 16:9.

ParticipantI believe you have to configure Half Life 1 in windowed mode to get 3D to properly kick in. Check it and let us know…
yup that was it.

ParticipantThe game is not officially supported. If you want to create a user profile for it and are certain it’s an OpenGL program try to take some other OpenGL profile as a base for a new one (e.g. Quake 1-4, Amnesia, Jedi Knight II). Try more than one if the first one doesn’t do the trick right away. Be aware though that OpenGL G3D support in vorpX is limited to fairly old (fixed function) OpenGL versions.
A much better way to experience (a re-imagined) Half-Life 1 is Black Mesa: Source though, which you can purchase on Steam. Basically Half-Life with way better graphics. For the Steam version of Black Mesa: Source a fully featured DirectVR profile exists.
just play Black Mesa: Source isn’t a solution as I am trying to play a Half-life 1 mod. Is there really no way to get Half-life 1 to work with vorpx? I tried following these instructions and it didn’t work.

Participantbasically whats going on is the game is only rendering in one eye.

ParticipantAlso did the authoring UI ever get implemented so we can add this feature to other games?

Participantcheck out these folks with their fancy HMDs

ParticipantI’ll wait a bit longer to see if Ralf replies. What kind of FPS are you getting and are there any notable artifacts?

ParticipantGuys, I perfectly understand that you’d like to play everything on day one, but in general having a bit of patience usually pays off. There are so many games with good profiles that you don’t really miss anything by waiting a bit.
Throwing random games at vorpX without a good profile isn’t really the best way to experience them. I’m sure for a game like this either I or an experienced profile creator will see what they can do.
Will you have a profile by the next update?
rustyshackleford
ParticipantDo you think you’ll have a profile ready in the next update?

Participantwould there be potential performance boost using a custom aspect ratio closer to match the displays of the HMD? Right now in the main branch of the game you can only select 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios iirc. it was my understanding that this update will allow for any aspect ratio.
