    ?-?-?

    WTF?

What screen are you talking about? There is some short window popping up once in a while (mostly those messages from guys who made a profile) but that one goes away by itself, so are you sure it´s not something within your config?

Ok it works!!! Well, vorpX still causes it to crash with hooking, but i found what caused that terrible stuttering in vorpX desktop viewer! Game has 3 v-sync modes: 30, 60 and “Unlocked”, the last one caused it to stutter with vorpX desktop viewer.

So game works fine and like a charm, still would be interesting to find out what caused vorpX to hook the game to death tho.

I forgot to mention: Removing those 2 files results in the game behaving exactly like it does running with the epic client, it shortly loads up and then crashes as soon vorpX is supposed to hook to it.

Interesting, the “pirated” version (no crack since it´s unprotected) doesn´t crash…it doesn´t even start loading up and now there is popping up this vorpX warning window:

WTF? Why doesn´t this come with loading the epic version, when the only difference is its missing client?

Ok obviously vorpX makes this game crash as soon as it hooks.
Restarting the system wasn´t helping and using another profile (DESPERADOS III) did not change anything neither. Maybe there is a profile that would work but i doubt that since obviously vorpX hooking causes the game to crash.

Restricting vorpX from hooking to it helped to the point of being able to play it on vorpX´s desktop viewer without vorpX killing it, but then again there the game has framerate issues making the whole experience more troublesome than satisfying.

Scrolling through the map causes stuttering and so are figures when they move. Those framerate issues are also happening on the free Bigscreenbeta desktop viewer but that´s noting special at all since a lot of games are having framerate issues there.

I don´t think it has something to do with the Epic-Client (also playing BREATHEDGE there), but since i am still not so sure, i am actually downloading the pirated version (it´s not copy protected) this moment to see if vorpX still makes it crash without the Epic-Client running in the background…

I don’t care about MP games or competition

I tried to get into MP-Games multiple times and it ALWAYS ended the same way:
I just got bored after a maximum of a few weeks, no matter if it was old BF, BFII or PUBG (the very last MP-game i wasted my time with).

So for me, those MP games are a full waste of time while the only “interesting” thing is that feeling of actually playing against other human players…but i am also getting used to this feeling so whats left then is: Running, gunning, hiding and jumping around like a nutcase, while i always wonder “Who really likes this shit?!?!?”.

Sadly they focus on too many MP games today, while this could have the lovely side-effect of the industry getting overloaded with too many of those multiplayer-games (isn´t that happening already???) and people starting to have enough of them while too many of those mp-titles terribly fail to make serious money (especially not like PUBG did back the days). This would be like a dream coming true to me LOL.

Work great with dx11 profile with g3d. Or dx12 with dx12 profile! Good game! With ps5 gamepad are too cool!

I agree, but could it be they fucked up with the latest update?

Game crashed three times in a row and runs pretty unstable in general, then i made it through a passage without any trouble and then it all of the sudden started stuttering like hell again.

None of this happened before that goddarn update!

yes it does, but the last game release that i like was Dying Light 2, after that my passion died slowly.

    ?-?-?

How come? Is it the market situation, i mean we are getting an overload with great games and i understand that if one ain´t “careful”, you´re getting too much of your beloved hobby and lose some joy and interest in it.

In my opinion, many gamers also do the mistake to force themselves to go through one game, completing it and then start another game, but why? I have constantly installed a shitload of games and almost every week i am installing another one. If i am having enough of a title, i just leave it for some time until i am getting in the mood again. FAR CRY 6 for example! I had enough of that crap, wasn´t playing it for months and then all of the sudden, i got back to it again and enjoyed the title more than ever, the same goes for most titles.

For me it is the head tracking in all the games, just looking around is awesome.

Oh, i am not even talking about those FULL-VR experiences of non-vr games, of course they´re another thing and for some people the actual most important main story of vorpX. But i am already enjoying it a lot with the immersive screen-modes, that ultra-widescreen mode alone is worth the vorpX-app. Also, certain games in 3D are kinda not having any “soul” once you´re playing them in regular 2D mode.

So all in all i could say the only big downside of vorpX would be that once you´re getting used to those great features, you painfully lose any interest in regular, old-fashioned gaming on old-fashioned gaming-hardware (monitors) to the point where you ask yourself, if there even is any point in playing computer-games without vorpX LOL.

The thing is, when i am looking/focusing at the center of the screen (with maxed out size/distance settings) then i also can still “see a little too much” of the edges of the immersive screen

To be precisely and not to get the wrong idea: Those screen-edges only appear on the upper and lower end of the screen and NOT on the left and right, i can even directly look to the left and the right (with just moving my eyes) and don´t see any edge. Even if i move my head (one tiny bit) to the left and right, those edges are still not visible.

So the “problem” are actually just the upper and lower screen-edges, so an increase of 30% in size would also make those edges disappear and makes a “better” experience with certain games in my opinion, even if that “better experience” probably ain´t way too significant.

…or in other words, the fuckin thing can also stay the size as it is in its current state, those damn edges will happily not kill me or my experience at all LOL.

    Ubisoft garbage.

Then you have to either look for a different hobby or do it like myself: Having dozens of games installed and switching between titles every couple of days, to have at least some variety.

The industry is generally GARBAGE and too scared to try other formulas let alone trying something rather NEW and so we have dozens of GTAs, hundreds of CODs, thousands of FAR CRYs, millions of ASSASSINS CREEDs and billions of PUBGs.

Did i already mention all the REMAKES and REMASTERS these days?

Also, people always complain about UBI, but what is actually ROCKSTAR doing so great, besides releasing “GTA Games” every couple of years while improving graphics but sadly not the games, so then you have an open world game with great graphics but repetitive and boring gameplay. And yes, GTA V did something new and interesting with its 3-character-switching on the fly, but the missions were the same as boring and repetitive as GTA IV.

The last ROCKSTAR games i really had fun with was every GTA title besides GTA IV and V. RDRII wasn´t a game, it was a lame horse riding simulator with a better story and better characters than the actual game itself. But people obviously forgot about what “playing a game” actually means.

Regarding RDRII, thanks to VORPX i can really enjoy the title and also have fun with it while i can really say “great experience”, but without VORPX, i wouldn´t even bother with it.

Times when devs made videogames because they can make a living with doing what they love doing the most, are over. Today they make videogames to make lots of money and there is no time to bother with “new” stuff let alone someone would risk something, that are indie devs who actually try risky stuff.

So INDIES are our only hope, forget those AAA franchises and companies, those titles take 180 hours to complete with 100%, but are actually fun for approx. 3 hours.

The thing is, when i am looking/focusing at the center of the screen (with maxed out size/distance settings) then i also can still “see a little too much” of the edges of the immersive screen and i got the idea if screensize could be inscreased by another 30% or even 40% percent of its current max size, then i guess the screensize would be perfectly right for the used max distance and the games where i am using those max settings (of course i am not playing all games on maxed out distance and screensize).

And well, the immersivescreen edges would be still there and visible but “less in my view” then.

Are you using a Pimax with a crazy high FOV, combined with RTX 4090

    Oculus and a GTX1660Ti

Otherwise i don’t see how the current size would not be big enough.

Oh, it actually is big enough but I just can´t stop thinking of how certain games are probably an even better immersive-screen-experience if i could increase screensize for just those 30 or 40 percent.

I have tried a bigger size Immersive Screen and in the end i got back to a smaller one, because the resolution was just not high enough, and/or the FOV wasn’t high enough, and/or the FPS got too low.

I´d say that strongly depends on the game one is playing and of course also depends on each ones “taste”.

I never jumped onto the 3D-Blu-Ray hypetrain as i am still not riding the 4k train, BUT…

…in case 3D would have been resurrected to experience many movies in 3D via VR-Goggles, i certainly would have at least tried it with chances being high that i would probably start to dive more into 3D movie viewing, but now with this decision, 3D seems to be finally dead for once and for all and there is also no chance of “resurrecting” it with VR-Goggles.

I dont really understand, why PSVR 2 is so much hyped, because there is so much lesser Content than PCVR, no 3D BluRay Support, you can only play games in a 2D Cinema Screen without any Zoom Option.

Well you should hope for PSVR to better get hyped and being sold in high numbers, if you want VR to really “succeed”, no matter what platform we are talking.

This also ain´t solely about PSVR but the fact that such decisions doesn´t really help making VR the kind of “success” it deserves, so in other words, a very successful PSVR will also help VR in general.

I finally figured out how to make desktop viewer work

LOL i am just curious, how you mean you finally made it work? Am i missing something here? I remember you just have to click the appropriate vorpX-exe and the desktop viewer starts!

I was wondering how you guys haven´t yet tried the “Tilt”-button in the vorpX-menu yet and would have given you the idea of trying that one, if Ralf wouldn´t have done it already.

The probably only “downside” of “tilting” the screen up or down would be that it ain´t moving in a “flat” direct way up/down and more in the way of like moving along a sphere, but this also has its good reason, since that way the app makes sure you´re looking at it from the “best” perspective.

The vorpX profiles are stored in a database, so usually there is nothing to remove.

There is no way of making it possible for users to make vorpX restricting itself from making use of certain profiles or i better say “making use of certain game exe files which are linked to profiles”?

In certain cases (like the RESIDENT EVIL 2 remake) i had to use the profile from another game (official RE2 profiles werent working anmyore due to that crappy dx12 update) but there was the problem of being unable to add the resident evil 2 exe file because the official profiles already used it.

Now it wasn´t that much of a problem since i just renmaed the original resident evil 2 exe file and happily no other process was using the original exe file of the game.

But when some other process would need the original exe file to work with the game, this would be bad news and i would have to play the game on the desktop viewer instead of making vorpX hook to it.
