Gamepad, mouse/keyboard, VR controllers, whatever you prefer.

With your card you should be able to get it look fairly well at largely stable 60fps if you make a few sacrifices in the graphics department. First of all: turn off raytracing. That frees resources for at least one (maybe two) notches resolution wise.

    @ Rhadin:

All of that highly depends on your GPU and the detail settings you choose. Please follow the suggestion the start message: start with detail settings ‘Low’ in the game options and then check whether on your PC more is possible or not. Always keep in mind that you are playing pretty much the most demanding game available on your VR headset.

    @ kiesel

Please take the ‘dxgi.dll’ warning seriously and check whether removing it solves your problem. That’s probably the issue here. It hooks into the same D3D functions as the mod and thus might cause havoc.

    @ Sky-El

Please do not use VD, that literally just adds another level of complexity. Use Oculus Link/AirLink with ‘Oculus’ selected as your headset type. If for some reaon you have to use VD, you must choose ‘SteamVR’, VD only works SteamVR, not with native Oculus mode.

If that still does not help, try to reinstall the mod, just in case the install is messed up somehow.

if you have other mods installed, please also check whether the issue occurs without.

    @ kiesel:

Are you maybe playing with an older Cyberpunk build? The VR mod also uses CET, so the only thing I can really imagine here is that maybe you use an older Cyberpunk version that isn’t compatible with the latest CET.

    @ artum

That’s intentional, not a technical limitation: on Index with it’s relatively high vertical FOV the mod on purpose limits the vertical FOV (not horizonically though) slightly in favor of better image quality (higher pixel count per degree). It pretty much always uses the vertical FOV that Oculus headsets have typically. Normally that can be adjusted in vorpX, but due to the high performance requirements of Cyberpunk, as in exception it’s slightly limited in this particular case.

    @ Tourist:

Your card is barely faster than minimum recommended in the start message. I can’t really say anything else than the message in the game already says: start with ‘Nice’ as resolution in the vorpX menu and graphics details in the game set to ‘Low’. That should definitely work on your card. Than check whether something better is possible on your PC or not.

    @ rift_un:

vorpX will choose a wider res for Pimax but it won’t utilize the full 180°. I’d generally recommend to select the small FOV in PiTool, which will still result in a whopping 130° horizontal FOV, much more than any other headset.

Full Pimax FOV + high resolution + Cyberpunk at high settings is something you might want to try with a RTX5090 in five years.

    @ Tourist

With your 6600XT you’ll have to dial down graphics details. I don’t have that specific card to test, but according to the usual comparison sites its barely faster than a 5700XT that is recommended as minimum for a pleasent experience in the startup message.

If dialing down graphics details to ‘Low’ in the game options alone is not enough, you can reduce the resolution on top of that by lowering the ‘Resolution Quality’ option in the vorpX settings menu.

    @ kia75

You can change the vorpX functionality of the thumbsticks to start/back instead on the ‘Input’ page of vorpX menu. Or play with VR controllers.

Just remove ANY mod you have installed and then reinstall the VR mod. If that works, add your mods back one by one to find the offending one.

    @ Sephael:

Try without mods. That’s always the first thing you should check when you have trouble with a modded game.

    @ polybass:

Try to update your defender definitions. No detection here, I also just checked Virustotal. Zero detections for both the installer ZIP and the hooking DLL.

Did you disable the Steam VR theater? Also vorpX must not be running at the same time. That will cause havoc.

WTF. Not here. Do you have anything special activated in Defender? What does it say exactly?

Before you all destroy your F5 keys: release will be later today.

Mods: Cyber Engine Tweaks in itself is not a problem. As far as the actual mods are concerned, judging from their names I would consider stuff like the sneak, sniper and driving mods potential candidates for causing trouble. Doesn’t have to be the case, just a guess based on their names.

The highest resolution vorpX does automatically is 3200×2400. In contrast to headset runtimes vorpX‘s custom frame interpolation can utilize some extra pixels on the sides, hence the 4:3. Results in less black sliding in from the sides when you turn your head at lower framerates.

Super easy too, you don‘t even have to add custom resolutions, just cranking up the ‚Resolution Quality‘ option in the vorpX menu does the trick, no matter wether your monitor supports the res or not. Be aware though that even with a high end GPU you will have to make some sacrifices in the graphics options at a res that high. Doesn‘t make much sense to run the game with 30fps.

The next vorpX will have this included, just like now the GTA V and RDR 2 mods or all the DirectVR profiles where vorpX does similar things via the memory scanner are included.

The standalone version is meant as a 10 year anniversary special, but that won‘t change the general course of vorpX.
