RalfKeymasterCould you be a bit more precise about what “will not work” means? vorpX doesn’t affect how the game counts combos in any way. If “will not work” means you can’t see the combo meter, try switching to EdgePeek mode, might be a HUD shader related glitch then.
RalfKeymasterIf you happen to have dynamic FidelityFX settings enabled, please try to disable it. That’s the only thing I’m aware of that may adjust itself depending on the game’s performance.
vorpX applies 3D and everything else after the game has rendered an image in this case, so it can’t cause texture pop-ins or similar effects itself.
RalfKeymasterto explain fubar’s reply a bit more detailed: For a crisper image you have to run games at higher resolutions. At/above 1440p things typically start to look good. The higher the resolution, the crisper the image. Caveat: higher resolutions cost performance, so key here is finding the right balance between image quality and performance depending on the game and your PC.
To add resolutions to your PC that it can not display normally, please check the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section in the vorpX help, it contains a step-by-step guide and some additional information.

RalfKeymasterThat looks odd for sure. Please try to reset both the vorpX profile and all game settings to default, not really sure what else to recommend. Also please make sure that you don’t have ny GPU Utilities, overlays or other programs running that hook into Direct3D.
If the issue still occurs afterwards, try switching to Z3D instead of G3D in the vorpX menu.

RalfKeymasterThere isn’t really anything that can be done is this respect other than making sure that the desktop runs on the same GPU that your headset is connected to. On a desktop PC that is the case normally, but on a gaming laptop you will have to disable the integrated GPU since usually the desktop does not run on the dedicated gaming GPU.
How (or whether) that can be done depends on your laptop. There may either be dedicated tool for that, an option in the GPU driver control panel or if none of that exists an option in the BIOS. In the worst case there may be no option at all.
RalfKeymasterThat could have been the issue. Normally the installer checks whether the right VC++ runtime version is installed and downloads it if necessary, but maybe that failed for some reason.
RalfKeymasterThe game uses an unusual camera projection where the camera center isn’t the image center. No matter what FOV you dial in, there always will be a slight distortion in FullVR mode when rotating your head due to this center mismatch. Not hard to fix, there just always were other things more important. I’ll see whether I can finally get that done for the next update.
RalfKeymasterOK, will look into that. Can you switch back from EdgePeek to the normal FullVR view manually (mousewheel click or right thumbstick click)?

RalfKeymasterThis shit drives me crazy one day. I even removed the .exe compression from the config app for this release to make false positive detections less likely…
I’ll submit the sample as false positive to MS ASAP. Hopefully this will be resolved by tomorrow. Until now they always were fairly quick when stuff like this happened. Fingers crossed.
BTW: No need to reinstall vorpX. You can restore quarantined files in the Defender settings. Afterwards ideally exclude the vorpX program folder from Defender. Typically that would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX\
RalfKeymasterHow exactly the glitch manifests itself may indeed depend on the resolution, with the suggested 4:3 res and the HUD scale at default the minimap should just be a bit wider than it is supposed to be.
Normally you should be able to set the resolution in the vorpX menu (‘DirectVR’). If that doesn’t work, please make sure that your normal Windows user account has write access to the commandline.txt file inside your GTA V install folder. Alternatively launching both the game and vorpX as admin would also ensure that vorpX can write to the file.
On a sidenote: currently the game looks best with vorpX with a higher actual resolution instead of using the game’s resolution scaling option for upping the internal res.

RalfKeymasterAs always this is a false positive. Also no problem with the latest Defender definitions as far as I can tell. Neither with the local Defender definitions nor with the cloud service enabled.
Try a manual Windows update search to get the latest Defender defintions.
In general it makes sense to exclude the vorpX program folder from AV scanners, typically that’s C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX
RalfKeymasterThe profile reset normally adjust all gamepad/VR controller settings.
Can’t really suggest much more than a full uninstall/reinstall then, maybe the database is messed up somehow. Make sure to keep the registration when the uninstaller asks about that. Otherwise you will have to re-enter your key.
Also please check whether you have mods installed for the game. If so, please try without any mods.
RalfKeymasterThe profile only worked with the original OpenGL version of the game. Doesn’t do anything anymore since they switched to Vulkan.
RalfKeymasterCan’t check the OpenXR issue currently, but theoretically it should work in OpenXR too. If it doesn’t, please use SteamVR for the time being.
Thanks for the Epic .exe hint. Will be added for the next database update.
RalfKeymasterBinding ALT+SPACE to one of the controller buttons should do the trick. I would’t really waste a controller button for that though. There is a ‘Center Tracking’ button on the main page of the vorpX ingame menu. Since normally you won’t really have to reset the tracking very often, that makes more sense than using a dedicated controller button.
