If by ghosting you mean the shimmer around foreground objects with Z3D that’s an inherent artifact caused by the way Z3D works. The only way to reduce it is reducing the Z3D strength.

The folder change for the background images isn’t a priority, can’t promise that for the next uodate. The only reason why accessing the documents folder would not be possible is that you may have blocked access to it either in the Windows settings or some AV program.

No such problem here. If you happen to have disabled auto settings in the vorpX config app, please make sure to re-enable that. vorpX makes some changes to the MPC-HC settings. Also don’t use a portable MPC-HC version, vorpX can only change settings for a properly installed MPC-HC.

The DEL problem will be fixed in the next update. I re-implemented the special DEL key handling earlier today. It indeed got lost during the input code changes mentioned above.

If you continue to have problems with MPC-HC, try VLC. Should work just as fine (will also have the DEL key issue currently though).

Thank you! BTW: While for actually playing the game immersive screen mode is clearly the way to go, walking around in first person FullVR occasionally is also quite cool. Head tracking is a bit laggy and you have to adjust the FOV with the ingame hot keys, but for a little stroll around the neighborhood every now and then it works well enough.

One thing you could try aside from using borderless or windowed mode is disabling the Uplay/Ubisoft Connect overlay. These overlays usually hook into functions that vorpX also hooks into, which in some games can cause issues like yours.

If you have trouble with getting a game to show in your Quest headset, please make sure to use Oculus Link via USB. To do that follow the steps below:

    1. Install the Oculus PC software: https://www.oculus.com/setup/
    2. Select Oculus as your headset type in the vorpX config app.
    3. Connect your headset to your PC with an USB cable
    4. Enable Oculus Link in your Quest headset.
    5. Start the game you want to play.

Apart from that please check for hooking conflicts with other programs your PC, in case something interferes. The trouble shooting post on top of this sub forum has more details on the matter.

To my knowledge there is no way to set the game’s FOV higher than the 1.0 menu settings, so to match the FOV to your headset the missing rest is accounted for by zooming out the image. Hence the top/bottom bars.

If you want to learn more about the various options that exist in regard to FullVR FOV, please check the Essential Hints Guide in the vorpX help. It explains the basic principle and what can be done depending on the game.

Not sure about the tracking delay. That should not be the case normally with TracKIR tracking. Please try to reset the profile to default in the config app to ensure vorpX is really setup for using TrackIR an not the indeed rather laggy gamepad emulation tracking.

Yes, the resolution set in the game options is the one you have to care about. SteamVR supersampling is of no concern, vorpX takes care of that itself depending on the resolution the game runs with.

Typically something like 1440p or so is a good compromise between performance and image quality. Only go higher if there is enough headroom performance wise.

BTW: On nVidia GPUs you can add custom resolutions to your PC that are higher that the ones your monitor can display. The custom resolutions section in the vorpX help has a step-by-step guide.

I made some changes to the input handling recently. IIRC the old code had some extra routine to handle the DEL key in MPC-HC, which I probably forgot to port over to the new input handling.

i’ll take a look at it. For the time being please change the menu key to something else in the config app.

You can backup your own settings to a file by dragging the entry in the profile list to your desktop (and vice versa to restore). That way you can easily try cloud settings without having to dial everything back manually afterwards or uploading your own settings to the cloud.

That definitely doesn’t sound right. GPU (and frame rate) should definitely be higher. Not really sure what to recommend though besides resetting the profile to default in the config app (trouble shooting page) in the hope some messed up settings cause the issue.

You can add custom resolutions higher than your monitor allows in the nVidia control panel. the custom resolutions section in the vorpX help has a step-by-step guide.

Keep in mind though that resolutions that high will often be too much to maintain a decent frame rate. Super high resolutions aren’t worth much when you get dizzy because of a too low frame rate.

If it worked before and now all of a sudden doesn’t, the only really useful advice is to revert any changes you have made to your PC in the meantime.

Apart from that: hooking issues almost always are conflicts with other programs that also hook into a game’s graphics pipeline or interfere in some even more fundamental way (like virus scanners). The trouble shooting guide on top of this sub forum has more details on the matter,

You can remap the vorpX functions to menu/select instead or disable them entirely.

    Resolution:

vorpX is using the resolution set in the game options. For a crisper image you would have to select a higher resolution there. Be aware that a higher resolution looks better, but in turn costs additional performance. So you’ll have to find the right balance here.

BTW: The custom resolutions section in the vorpX help has a guide regarding adding higher resolutions than the ones your monitor can display.

    Performance:

With your GPU it might make sense to switch to Z3D in vorpX ingame menu. That doesn’t look as natural as the default G3D, but is a lot faster. If you want to stick to G3D, with your GPU you definitely will have to follow the suggestion in the top/left corner of the game window and reduce the game’s graphics detail to medium or low.
