RalfKeymasterI’ll take a look at it. Head tracking is mouse emulation based though in BF1, so there isn’t really anything that could break. One thing you could check is whether raw input is enabled in the game’s options. The DirectVR optimizer is supposed to take care of that normally.
RalfKeymasterShort update: if all goes well you can expect a fully featured profile shortly after release. Spent yesterday’s beta time refining the profile and memory scanner settings, so it’s *almost* finished. Unfortunatly no more beta, the finishing touches have to wait until after relase.
Fingers crossed that there won’t be a day one patch that breaks everything.
RalfKeymasterThanks guys!

A handful new profiles that were added with the latest update might be missing.
RalfKeymasterPlease make sure that the “Do not optimize game settings” option in the config app is not checked.
Unless you checked this box, vorpX should configure everything automatically.
RalfKeymasterThere wasn’t really enough time to check for kinks within the two hour beta window, but FOV was done with the memory scanner, so it’s constantly overwritten. It can’t be reset like the .ini edit method.
This probably won’t be enabled per default though since it might be considered cheating in an online game. Not exactly sure yet how to handle it, but I’ll probably add a disclaimer so that everyone clearly knows that they act at their own risk when using the memory scanner.
Considering that Bethesda didn’t even entirely prevent FOV changing via .ini editing, they might not be that harsh in this regard, but there has to some kind of warning.
RalfKeymasterJust a little heads-up to avoid potential confusion: RJK’s no-Steam remark is only related to his custom profiles, it does not apply to any official profile.
Official profiles are always done with currently available game versions, i.e. Steam, Origin, Uplay, GOG etc.
RalfKeymasterSuport for Rift controllers is independent from DirectVR. They are automatically detected and can be used in keyboard+mouse or gamepad emulation mode.
RalfKeymasterLetterboxing can be used in full VR mode to compensate for missing FOV. You can find this setting on the image page of the vorpX menu.
EdgePeek allows to temporarily zoom out the image to look at HUD elements that may be hidden, use menus or watch cutscenes more comfortably. You activate it with a click on the middle mouse button or left gamepad thumbstick.
To learn a bit more about basic concepts and important keyboard shortcuts, I’d strongly recommend to check the “Quick Reference” and the “Essential Hints Guide” in the vorpX help. Both answer quite a few questions you may have as a beginner.
RalfKeymasterNothing below is final. The game’s release version might or might not work.
That said, in today’s beta session everything worked more or less as it should ideally, which means G3D, DirectVR head tracking and FOV. Still quite a bit of work to do, but provided they don’t decide to disallow hooking into the game in the end, the final profile will be similar to Fallout 4 feature wise. The DirectVR memory scanner may be considered cheating though, only time will tell how they handle that. So to be on the safe side, deactivate it.
Requires a fast machine + reduced graphics detail for G3D, medium detail for a GTX 1080Ti seems OK. The game world is quite a bit more detailed than Fallout 4 and thus more demanding. Z3D looks good, so mid-range GPUs will work too.
If all goes well, an official profile will be made available at or shortly after release.
Just in case someone overlooked it above: :)

RalfKeymasterJust a little heads-up that for Unity 5 (Unity DX11) games it’s usually better to try other Unity profiles before the Gone Home profile. E.g. the Unity 5 base profile, Life is Strange – Before the Storm, Firewatch, Ori and the Blind Forest.
The Gone Home profile has inverted positional tracking, which probably is not required for most other games, so it may cause odd head tracking issues.
RalfKeymasterYou need to install SteamVR in Steam. If that is the case, you can use vorpX in Oculus mode as well as in SteamVR mode.
If still neither works after doing that, try to reinstall the latest Oculus software, just in case it is somehow not installed correctly.
RalfKeymasterNever heard of anything like this, sorry. Try to run the games windowed then, maybe that makes a difference. Just a guess, of course, can’t really recommend anything more specific.
RalfKeymasterIt doesn’t expect hand controllers. Even with hand controllers active, mouse and keyboard would still work. If you happen to run the games windowed, make sure they have input focus by clicking into the window.
RalfKeymasterWhat game are you trying to play? Normally mouse+keyboard should work fine, VR controllers are supported by vorpX, but not required.
In vary rare cases the cursor might be hidden on start. Try ALT+C to unhide it, maybe that helps.
