I do think that a user wiki is a really fantastic idea in regard to practical tips for games that vorpX can’t handle fully automated, although the list of those will get shorter and shorter with every new release.

If you want it to be something more technical, that’s a different story though. For one almost noone will read that – most folks didn’t even read the very short basic guides in the help when that was still necessary to get going. And secondly it would contain errors with 100% certainty which means I would have to proofread/correct everything in the end.

Since version 17.3.0. there are tooltips directly in the menu for almost all settings that briefly explain what they do.

You do not have to do it yourself for Far Cry 4/Primal, vorpX does that automatically.

You can check whether that is supported for a game on the Direct VR page of the vorpX menu. vorpX also shows a notification whenever it changes the FOV.

Whenever vorpX can adjust the FOV automatically, either with an .ini edit or via memory scanning, you can see that on the Direct VR page of the vorpX menu.

The field of view is set via editing the game’s .ini file. The Direct VR page of the vorpX menu shows information about the supported Direct VR features if any are available.

Please make sure to read all notifications that are shown by vorpX and always restart a game when you are prompted to do so. To apply edited .ini values a restart is usually required.

@ Phubarrh: “Steam VR” is the right headset choice in the vorpX config app.

The FOV set by vorpX is not used in the (short) start sequence in the school/hospital floor for some reason. Play through it in EdgePeek mode, afterwards the FOV is fine. There is a notification shown about that each time you start the game.

Try a factory reset or reinstall and do not touch any sync related settings afterwards except “Fluid Sync”, which you can safely set to your liking. Under normal circumstances there is absolutely no reason to set any of the other sync settings to something else than their default values, I should probably remove them.

The field of view is set by vorpX and calculated perfectly to fit the headset.

Any performance loss you may observe after installing the hotfix 18.1.1 is pure conincidence and not caused by the latest vorpX version, 100% guaranteed.

18.1.1 completely fixes the issue reported by haints.

vorpX 18.1.1 is on the server and fixes this issue.

I’ll look into it. Can’t really imagine anything that might cause that, but will check it after the weekend.

Some leftover debug code that actually affects all DX11 G3D profiles to varying degrees. Thanks for the heads up! Will be addressed with a hotfix ASAP (read later today)

Odd, no problem though if the MyCommerce link doesn’t work.

You can get a new download here at any time.

No need to worry re ModOrganizer, you can still use it. The only thing that is different now is that inactive profiles aren’t touched by the DirectVR settings optimizer anymore.

Also you apparently overlooked Kingdom Come Deliverance, which you explitely mentioned in the wishlist thread just a few ago.

Took a closer look at this update and I’m not just psyched for KCD but also the Thief remake in G3D, Nier, etc.

Any chance we could eventually get a Titanfall 2 profile? Very playable with unofficial Tridef profile but I miss that Vorpx magic …

Regardless, I really hope the VR community will come to realize the huge strides Vorpx has made/is making with these last few updates. There was a time where I couldn’t unreservedly recommend the software to someone–especially if they weren’t into tinkering. Now not only would I recommend it–I think EVERYONE who is into 3D/VR gaming should buy it. Great work, Ralf.

Titanfall 2 was one of the if-time-permits-profiles I had in mind in the original post. Good news: it will be included and works just as well as Titanfall 1. Geometry 3D, auto resolution/FOV, scalable HUD etc.
