Make sure to select the right Field of View (FOV) for the game (~120°). This has a huge impact on the perceived depth. For all Bioshock games this can be done using the built in game settings optimizer now + one manual step, which is also mentioned in the optimizer.
Other than that Eye Separation/3D Strength is the right setting to play with in this regard. Just be careful, as you noticed this also changes the perceived scene scale.
RalfKeymasterIt may be possible you have to use LEFT SHIFT + SPACE, not sure about this currently.
RalfKeymasterMost configuration can be done in-game (press [DEL]).
You will have to set your DK2 as primary display though if you can’t open the config app.
RalfKeymasterThat sound really odd. Might make sense to reinstall Skyrim, especially if you use mods. Some mods may conflict with vorpX (especially so called ENB mods and possibly some mods that use the Skyrim Script Extender).
Also please disable your gamepad in Skyrims game options if you have one connected. Skyrim disables the mouse with a gamepad connected which also disables vorpX’s head tracking.
RalfKeymasterThe DotNet framework has multiple version side by side. If you use a Windows version >Vista, you also have DotNet 3.5. If it can’t open programs written for it, it may be corrupt, hence you should reinstall it. This is almost certainly a Windows issue.
RalfKeymaster@Sven: Probably a corrupt Microsoft Dot Net installation. Reinstall/repair Dot Net Framework 3.5 . Also please reinstall vorpX after a reboot, just in case.
RalfKeymaster@ becozier: As said in the original post, not even all games were tested with the current build to get it to you as fast possible. So I can’t provide you a list currently unfortunately. Documentation will be updated over the next weeks. Thanks again for your patience.
Head tracking works with all games that had head tracking with DK1. Just the POSITIONAL tracking is Skyrim only.
@ Victor: Please check the documentation that comes with vorpX. It has a dedicated page with information in regard to the best DK2 configuration.
RalfKeymasterIf the config app crashes on startup, please rename/delete the following folder: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Oculus. This might solve the issue.
Afterwards please create a profile with the Oculus Config Util.
The AppData directory may be hidden, you have to enable ‘Show hidden files’ in Windows Explorer to see it.
RalfKeymastervorpX creates several shortcuts in your start menu and on your desktop. The most important one is labeled “Start vorpX”.
Please also make sure to take a look at the documentation which you can display by using the “Show Help” shortcut in the vorpX folder of your start menu.
RalfKeymaster@Steve: Damn, you were faster than me. Should have prepared this better forum wise…
@All vorpX 0.7.1 with initial DK2 support is now available. Please note that DK2 support is in early stages. Not all games have been tested and there are most likely bugs.
This was released as fast as possible to give you something to play with, so don’t complain. ;)
If you already own vorpX, your vorpX should automatically update when you start vorpX Control. If it doesn’t, you can update manually by using your web installer.
RalfKeymaster@Sven: That oesn’t sound good. possibly a corrupt Microsoft Dot Net installation.

RalfKeymasterGiven that vorpX is able to hook into an unsupported game, it will usually run without Stereo 3D but the most important VR functionality (head tracking etc.) working.
To get S3D in unsupported games you can try to rename the game .exe to a known game using the same engine (hl2.exe for example in case of CS), but that may or may not work at all. Even if it works in general, the result will be less than stellar in most cases. Almost all newer titles require game specific effect fixes.
RalfKeymasterYes, of course, rotational head tracking will be available in all games that had head tracking with the DK1. It’s a bit better even, since the DK2 seems to have less yaw drift compared to the DK1, probably due to the camera.
Just positional tracking is Skyrim only in the first DK2 release. More games to follow.
RalfKeymasterThe video was made with a DK2. It is a preview video, that is part of a preview article, which is made very clear several times in that article. Having a version that is suitable for creating a preview does not mean having a version that is ready for release unfortunately. Being a developer yourself I’m sure you understand that.
Please keep in mind that we probably don’t have our DK2, which is out for merely four weeks, any longer than you have yours. Thanks again for your continued patience.
That being said: The status for the update has changed to *very* soon.
RalfKeymasterI will look into it once the DK2 update, which is the top priority right now, is out. No promises though.
