RalfKeymasterPlease reset everything to default and let VorpX handle FOV and resolution. if you happen to have disabled auto settings, please re-enable that.
If you happen to have any mods installed (especially camera mods) try without. Some mods may affect the FOV.
If you happen to have the game installed under C:\Program Files or any other folder with restricted access, make sure your normal Windows user has write access to the game’s install folder.
Under normal circumstances the FOV is calculated precisely to match the FOV of your headset. Provided vorpX can actually set the FOV there isn’t really any margin for error in case of well known engines like the CryEngine. if you still want to experiment, you can apply a +/- 20° offset on the DirectVR page of the vorpX menu. That’s not necessary though. If you let vorpX do it’s thing, everything is set up correctly.
RalfKeymasterThat’s weird indeed. Might be worth to check whether you have an FPS limit set either in the game’s video options or maybe even globally in the nVidia control panel.
RalfKeymasterUnder normal circumstances it shouldn’t really be a problem with your rig to get 80-90fps at low settings. Please double check whether you really set the game’s details to ‘Low’. Nothing else I can recommend unfortunately.
RalfKeymaster@ 3oxis:
Couldn’t agree more. Now is not the time, but in a few years I may have a little anecdote to share about the different momentums both mods gained.
@ Hutmacher:
Good that you mention both frame rates are the same. IIRC due to some general Pimax weirdness I set the headset sync per default to synced headset/game fps for Pimax headsets. That’s usually better for Pimax, but will definitely not work well with the alternate frame 3D method the mod uses. Try ‘prefer fps’ instead and then make sure the second number is your headset FPS (usually 90), The first one can be lower, but should ideally be 60 or higher with AFR 3D.
RalfKeymasterYou have to make sure that the second number in the ALT+F FPS counter is your headset refresh rate. While that should be the case for any headset ideally, for Pimax headsets it’s pretty much mandatory.
The best way to get going is following the suggestion shown when you launch the game: select ‘Low’ graphics details in the game options and then raise the resolution and/or details to find your personal sweetspot between image quality and performance. Shouldn’t really be difficult with your rig.
RalfKeymasterPlease make sure that the name field looks exactly as in the e-mail, including the mail address in parantheses.
Use copy and paste to avoid typos. Do not type manually.
If that does not solve the issue, please make a screenshot of the dialog after you pasted in the data and send that as an e-mail attachment to support at vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterSounds more like a headset issue than a vorpX issue, vorpX just reads the position data it gets from the headset.
You should be able to circumvent the issue by disabling positional tracking on the input page of the vorpX menu.
RalfKeymasterSame question, same answer. ;)
You can exit or pause vorpX from its tray icon‘s right click menu.
if you can’t find the tray icon, click the small arrow left of your clock.
RalfKeymasterPlease reset the profile to default and then follow the instructions in the top/left corner of the game window regarding Camera FOV and TrackIR. With TrackIR tracking you get 1:1 head tracking.
RalfKeymasterAll good, nothing you have to care about.
RalfKeymasterThe dialog pops up when you start vorpX. If it starts without showing the license dialog, you already have an older license key stored on your PC.

RalfKeymasterYou can adjust the world scale in every G3D game with the “3D-Strength/Scale” option within a super-wide margin. You’d have to setup the FOV correctly first though, that’s mandatory for FullVR. FullVR without a correct FOV doesn’t make sense at all. That’s actually more important than 3D for FullVR mode. Without a correct FOV you get a zoomed in (or zoomed out) image with weird “fishbowl” distortion when you rotate your head.
Provided the FOV is right the 3D-Strength option provides a scaling range roughly equivalent to you being anything from 50cm small to 10m large. So “Scaling is off” is an issue that doesn’t really exist with G3D since you can easily dial the scale in.
In official FullVR profiles stuff like that is dialed in right per default, but in a profile that is actually an immersive screen profile for the game’s normal third person view, you have to do it yourself when you want to play in FullVR with a first person mod.
No promises, but I’ll take a look at this new first person mod and if it works well enough, I’ll add some setup instructions for it to the profile.
RalfKeymasterThe DirectVR scan is not available for every game. If it is available for a game, vorpX displays an according hint in the top/left corner of the game window.
RalfKeymasterFinally got a chance to check this. As far as I can tell the game seems to work fine before running the DirectVR scanner. I’ll have to take a closer look to check whether that’s fixable by adjusting some scanner parameters or whether it’s something more serious. Possible that Bethesda ‘improved’ their anticheat measures and kick vorpX out when it applies memory scanner tracking.
For the time being please play without running the scanner. If the scanner issue is fixable, I’ll upload a profile with updated scanner settings and let you know here.
RalfKeymasterTry to run the game windowed instead of full screen. Some games internally squish/stretch the image if the game aspect ratio doesn’t match the desktop aspect ratio in fullscreen mode.
