I would be interested in this as well, please.
I have been playing ArmA 3 again this past week with the new Spearhead DLC, and have been itching over the past year to play more ArmA S.O.G. online, but the populated servers always run BattlEye.
So I think it was the last few builds, with a fresh install of vorpx launch Arma 3 with alternate hooking ON battleye OFF change a few settings (nothing significant) then save and exit the vorpx menu and then exit the game. I would then start Arma 3 back up alternate hooking ON with battleye ON this time and it would fully hook joining servers and everything…But since the last few updates this unfortunately doesn’t work anymore. With the profiles I’ll try out what you say, I’ll keep testing on the new build and beta to see if I can get Arma 3 to hook again with G3D battleye ON. I noticed that the dll’s and stuff enter the hidden temp folder and they are the files battleye blocks (Armax64DLL in particular) just wondering if maybe this directory or path changed in anyway in the vorpx builds?
Huh? That has never been the case. vorpX never could hook Arma 3 with BattleEye enabled. You can find countless threads here on the forum where the one and only suggestion regarding the topic since the dawn of time has been disabling BattleEye. I actually had a brief e-mail exchange with BE’s main dev many, many years ago where he refused to whitelist vorpX because in his opinion vorpX hooked into games “the wrong way”…
If it did indeed work at some point, you either must have done something yourself to circumvent BE or there was a temporary bug in BE, although I’d consider that unlikely.
Not sure what you mean with #2. There are two ways to create a new profile: 1. Make a copy of an existing one and assign a game’s main .exe to the copy. 2. Open the vorpX menu and save settings in an unknown game that vorpX is able to hook without a profile. Method 1 is preferable since with a bit of luck it allows to create profiles with 3D if the engines match. Profiles created with method 2 always are 2D only.
Hey Ralf I need you to try clear up and set the record straight why I could get vorpx previous versions to hook onto to Arma 3 G3D all the effects all the options battleye on. But now I can’t, my question is #1 how and why the hell did vorpx previous versions work around battleye eye and #2 I’ve noticed I could create new blue local profiles by continuously clicking on games as they entered game forming it’s own profile that could be used flawlessly afterwards no need to mess around. I can’t create profiles like that anymore and there’s no indication that cloud profiles are even at work once imported?
Please reset the ARMA3 profile to default and check whether you maybe have accidentally disabled automatic settings changes. If so, re-enable that. None of the issues you encounter occur with default settings under normal circumstances if you let vorpX just do its thing.
Per default the profile has Geometry 3D, a scalable HUD, 6DOF head tracking, automatic FOV adjustment, and if you enable TrackIR in the game even decoupled walk/look on top of that. In other words: there is nothing you have to change except resolution/graphics details to find your individual compromise between fidelity and performance.
Also keep an eye on any hints/messages vorpX displays in the game window and/or in the headset.
I have been thinking about ARMA 3 and 2 for many years to play on VR. I have tested it on vorpX. Weapons become gigantic even the sights and Hud is not visible on the game even if you try to set it to vorpX. The menu on the game is almost unusable too wide from the field of view. Is there anything to fix it?
Or if someone can fix new profile for ARMA3 and 2 everything works perfectly. I think it’s a great game please help me….
Very kind regards Patric
The display config is stored in the Windows registry as soon as it changes. When you software-disable all actual displays with only an invisible one left and now the whole PC crashes hard for whatever reason, that’s what Windows thinks is the valid config on next launch. Say hello to a beautiful black screen. Looks like Armageddon for any normal person who just uses their PC. There are a shitton of safeguards in place that deal with such things – and even more that deal with lesser annoyances. Implementing the headset auto switch took two hours, making it airtight three weeks.
Unless I overlooked something serious, it’s now a really smooth experience: launch the desktop viewer, put on your headset, do whatever vorpX related stuff you want to do on the virtual display, at the end of the session take off the headset and your normal display kicks back in. That’s it. The programmer did his best work when the user doesn’t notice he did anything at all. :)
As far as FO3 is concerned, I’d suggest to leave automated settings changes enabled. I understand perfectly well that it’s sometimes against any decent tinkerer’s personal code of honor to not tweak everything manually ;), but FO3 is one of the games where vorpX automagically creates a next to native experience by pressing a single button if you just let it do its thing.
Gestures: the ones currently available already are enough to keep you busy most of the time. Shooting, interaction, driving, etc., a lot of the stuff you typically do in games is already covered. More is in the pipeline and recordable custom gestures are something worth looking into too, but that’s not a top priority right now. A good preset library that covers pretty much everything is more desirable.

That´s the right spirit, ya dipshits! Just cancel even more VR-Exclusive games and shut down servers, this will of course attract even more users get into VR and buy VR-Exclusive titles to begin with!
Not enough that VR is still struggling, especially this meta-crap, they´re already starting to shut down server(s) of game(s).
I don´t care what reason they may have to justify such a stupid move, it for sure will not help VR to become “better” in any way. So why even buying their next titles, when they are going to shut down its servers too soon probably?
Not that i even played ECHO or any other vr-exlusive title lately, let alone multiplayer-only vr-titles, but as a “vorpx-MANIAC” who is playing every game in VR now, i guess we and VR need all the industry-based support it can get, rather than doing the exact opposite META is obviously doing now.
Okay…. So after a few days of confusion and frustration I found a solution (it works for me) in the VorpX settings go to general and tick Use alternate hooking method. You should hopefully now be able to play Arma 3 on any server including official servers with Battleye ON.
VorpX was definitely hooking, had full 3D and everything but I recently tried to play Arma 3 online with Battleye on as per usual and now it doesn’t work after working for months….. No clue why it even let it work in the first place or why it even stopped working.
Are you sure vorpX is hooking, and providing 3D options? I tried a Arma3 battleEye server just now and it still doesn’t let the game load.
I suspect you are using the desktop viewer to play this way. That would let you play, but without 3D depth.
Arma 3 works with Battleye on, I have been playing on all kinds of servers with VorpX working perfectly. I was playing Battleye off servers but got over them and went back to Battleye servers and it’s worked ever since.
I’m playing Wow on Warmane (private server) and vorpX wont attach to the .exe.
The game runs on DX9
I have however ran Tridef3D and that hooks on properly. Any ideas how to make VorpX work natively?
Currently I can use Tridef3D to do a side by side 3d and then use VorpX desktop viewer to view the side by side 3d image into the headset (oculus Q2)
Hi everyone I am playing arma3 and using a Xbox controller which works to control the character in game but when I use Vorpx the sensitivity is way to high so moving the stick a little makes me move way to fast
If I try and turn down the sensitivity in the game itself that does nothing
How can I lower the game sensitivity through vorpx
Thanks
Thanks man I realised all this and tried to delete this Post, I was persistent on running Arma 3 with Battleye on. I managed to get on servers with and without it on but it would turn off 3D and TrackIR support, I didn’t realise all this as I was trying this straight after installing VorpX. I don’t know why people give this program such a bad wrap it literally does what it says, Even though I can’t use it in Battleye servers I’ll use it on everything else without. Thanks Ralph for your work oh and burn this after reading haha.
