I find that opentrack can often crash Vorpx when trying edge peak.
This happens often in Dirt 3.

I try to zoom out instead but the menus are located deep on the edges and corners of the display :(

Arma 3 is still something I really want to get working.

I’ve tried COD, Borderlands. All end up being “Gunface” experiences.

    Hey,

i got it running once but its not pretty good usable at the moment. For Headtracking i use my TrackIR5.

I got it enabled by resetting the vorpx arma3 settings to factory default and then start it. In the main menu there is no Stereo mode active but vorpx says its enabled. When i disable and directly re-enable head tracking the Stereo mode starts and its in 3D (with Z-Buffer). Sadly the Edge Peek is not working so you need to know where the buttons are but in general its working so far. Sadly after restarting arma3 the screen remains black (in stereo mode). To get it working again i have to reset the vorpx arma3 profile to factory default and do the first steps again to gain Stereo 3D.

So if EdgePeek would work and the workaround by resetting the settings is not required anymore its pretty good usable and delivers a great 3D experience.

so i got the dk2 working with arma3
it’s only 2D but it is ok :)
i set the fov to 100 and it worked fine
but than i installed opentrack for dk2 (independent head tracking works also good)
    but than the fov changed….
its way to close… even when i set the fov to 180 its still too close….
any of u got an idea how to fix that?

i think it has to support track iR
i use opentrack in arma 3 and it works… i had to activate it in the menu first…
but the only problem is that i’m far to close to my weapon (hands) when opentrack is running.
when i disable opentrack the view is normal and i can change it in the fov lines…
i changend my fov to a max of 180 but im still to close to my weapon and have no idea how to fix that…
    help?

    tnx for the quick reply.

mouse middle-click was the saver and I could access the menu and join a dayz epoch game. I moved a little in my base, didn t even try to get outside, epoch world is a dangerous place:P
well, the road is long ahead. yes, it works. as for the first impressions…
quite a delay in head movements but not stutter. I ve tried different quality settings on 1980×1080, aswell as vorpx HT sensibility without big improvements.
the stereoscopic effect is more visible as a cutboard effect, not a real 3D. here, arma2 graphics are the cause I think. But what was immediately noticeable, was a disturbing white edge to the objects, where stereo separation was stronger.
Head movements/tracking should definitely work as a free look override toggle and get separated from the mouse tracking
as said, these are only couple of first impressions of a fresk dk2 owner, have to try many other games to get a more serious impression.
    many thanks.

    I almost got it working… Windows 7
I didn’t change my monitor setting at all. (in Arma3.cfg)
I did change my FOV but that shouldn’t matter to get it going.

With Rift in extended monitor mode windows settting say it is monitor (2)

If you put Arma3 in windows mode (windowed)
    C:\User\[user name]\Documents\Arma 3\Arma3.cfg <-file

    Change detectedAdapterId=0;
    to detectedAdapterId=1; <- monitor (2)

this will put the Arma 3 in Oculus mode but change the detectedAdapterId back to 0
and runs in the monitor 1 window in Oculus mode
(if you move it to the Oculus in window mode it works, kinda, not very good)
to get around the menu CLICK and HOLD DOWN THE MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON / WHEEL BUTTON HOLD and click the left like normal.

I want it FULL SCREEN… Help

Will they get full Vorpx support?

If you want to get a sharper super sampled image and smoother lines you can create a custom resolution for the rift display of 2650×1440 @75hz. In the nvidia control panel it’s under change resolution > customize > create custom resolution (not sure how for other cards) then edit the config file of the game to render at 2650×1440 or select it if available in game and launch it with the rift as primary display. Tested it for Skyrim, MW3 and Arma 2 with vorpx and it also works for those few games with native DK2 support like Elite Dangerous & live for speed. It also has the added benefit of bringing the menus more in view for some games.

Tested and working with Operation Arrowhead as well. These are a little trickier to get looking good. Turn off post processing to get rid of the blur. There’s a utility you can use to get a wider FOV here and you can double tap “-” to get a wider FOV in game.

If you also have Track IR (have to enable it in game) you can use that in addition to the DK2 to add independent look vs. aim/move or for head tracking in vehicles… lots to experiment with in this one and what looks good on foot might not look good in a vehicle etc… A useful future feature for Vorpx would be the ability to have a few saved custom profiles we could switch between with hot keys so when either on foot or aiming down sight or in a vehicle we could easily toggle between the settings that work best for each. Hotkeys for in game adjusting of depth, aspect ratio correction and focal point offset would also be great so we can adjust the scene without going into menu mode where it’s zoomed out a little.

Anyway, LOTS of vehicles to play with here too. The helis are great with headtracking especially the little bird with the high visibility cockpit.

Anyone happen to have Day Z as well as I suspect it should work in Geometry 3d for that too?

Planetside 2 was never tested here, but reportedly works fine with a gamepad.

For Arma 3 please check the thread below. It’s currently buggy but there seems to be a temporary workaround:

    Arma 3 doesn’t work DK2

Planetside 2 has a vorpx hook but the game doesn’t response to the mouse cursor at all but the vorpx menu mouse it does

I downloaded arma 3 and f1 2012 again so I will try those later on and see

I have set up my DK2 according to the Vorpx DK2 setup guide.
    Rift Extended
    Show only on Rift DK2
    Portrait orientation

I have launched Arma 3 with these settings. It does show up correctly on the Rift (yay) but it is horizontal, and it is not split into 2 windows. I *believe* I followed the instructions properly in this post:

    Arma 3 doesn’t work DK2

I have set the resolution to 948×1080 as both the fullscreen height/width and render height/width.

I think I am doing something wrong early in the process as it is still vertical. I press delete in game but there doesn’t appear to be any setting to switch the orientation. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Also – Ralf – the game does support independent head tracking. By default when you press Alt and move the mouse you can free look around without moving your aim.

O rly? Wonder whether it’s gfx card specific (GTX 770 here).

Can you force the resolution settings in My documents\Arma 3\arma3.cfg ?
