sparkyhodgoParticipantIgnoring Bioshock 1 which I have an unusual problem of only 25% of the screen displaying which could be something else entirely I am seeing injections that simply aren’t working.
1- Bioshock 2 the process terminates a couple of seconds after launching, pause the watcher and the game works fine.
Sounds like you’re running Bioshock 1 in DirectX 10 mode. Try DirectX 9 (-dx9 in launch parameters)
Bioshock 2 I’m having the same issue. Let me see what happens if I pause the watcher…
Jan 8, 2017 at 11:59pm #124632In reply to: Rotation scan problem on Vive
RalfKeymasterHaven’t heard of that regarding Skyrim yet, which is very reliable here and only very rarely fails. What seems to be a bit wonky is the Bioshock Infinite scanner profile, but I almost expected that.
What can help in case of failures is changing the starting position/rotation or loading another savegame in a different location. Also make sure to absolutely not touch the mouse during the scan.
In case you use any security/antivirus software that may monitor memory access, disable it. Such a program almost certainly would interfere. If you use anything else, I would recommend Windows Defender.
Other than that unfortunately I can’t really say much else than the disclaimer on the scan progress screen says already: such a memory scan isn’t 100% reliable, may cause issues incl. crashing a game sometimes, and even might not work at all on some machines/configurations.

JakxxParticipantI did actually double check that as I did run the game in Vulkan before. However I switched back and checked again.
I guess something in my system configuration just keeps messing with vorpX. The only game I have been able to get running with it so far was Bioshock Infinite.
Other games (even the supported ones) either outright crashed, had extreme graphical glitches or ran with extreme low fps.
Well it was worth a try.
nieda113Participanthi, actually i havent been playing the game as intended mostly i relax in exploring the games world because skyrim witcher bioshock infinite and even gta5 look so fantastic in 3d . Game play is to me an option but mostly i enjoy the free modes…
Hahah THX
RalfKeymasterDid you run the Direct VR scanner after entering the gameworld/level?
If Direct VR is active, you should be able to use the gamepad natively. Both games have Direct VR. The vorpX gamepad emulation is only required without Direct VR for games that do not allow mouse + gamepad to be used together. Normally it gets automatically disabled as soon as Direct VR kicks in.
Apart from that your issue sounds as if walk/run are inverted, which you should be able to change in the vorpX menu.
I would highly suggest to play with Direct VR + native gamepad though (or even better the Touch/Vive controllers if available).
If you do not see any hint about Direct VR when you start Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite, reinstall vorpX. As of now the latest version is 17.1.2.

TyrminaotrParticipantHey. After 17.1.2 update I can’t use scanner for Bioshock Infinite… Works great for 17.1.1 and 17.1.0
Jan 3, 2017 at 12:58pm #124231In reply to: Positional tracking via Direct VR?
RalfKeymasterSorry in advance for the many caps below. This is extremely important to understand, hence I have to emphasize.
If you want to play standing, please play standing IN PLACE unless a game has positional Direct VR! Standing in place always works totally fine.
As outlined above positional Direct VR is the ONLY way to be able to walk around in a decent manner. Otherwise you ALWAYS need to be in the center position for 100% correct head rotation, which is the reason for the re-centering. It’s difficult to explain, but since the position is applied retroactivley in that case, the rotation center WILL move away from your head with you moving away from the position center.
Again: ONLY games with positional Direct VR (e.g. Fallout 4, Bioshock, Aliens: Colonial Marines) allow decent walking around. Other games are not suited for walking around and should be played standing in place (or seated).
That said, you can see for yourself by raising the fHtRecenterDistance in C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpX.ini. The value is the radius in meters.
You WILL encounter the behavior outlined above without positional Direct VR, which is the reason for the re-centering.

SousaKingParticipantRalf
I just tried the latest update(17.1.1) and in Bioshock I get no 3D effect. Even if I switch between Z-normal or Z-adaptive or none with or without Direct VR. I see no change and get a flat image. Direct VR does fix FOV and positional tracking though. I get the same results with Fallout 4. Skrim SE and Borderlands seem to work properly though. I have a 980ti and Windows 10.Jan 1, 2017 at 8:22pm #124101In reply to: Positional tracking via Direct VR?
RalfKeymaster@ Dedalus
Off the top of my head: The Bioshock games and the Fallout games and Aliens Colonial Marines. All games with Geometry 3D have positional tracking without Direct VR though. If not active per default, it can be enabled on the head tracking page of the ingame menu. Note that neither Direct VR nor the normal pos tracking auto-convert games into great roomscale experiences, it’s perfectly fine for playing seated or standing with a little bit of movement though.
@ prinyo
The menu issue was just identified thanks to the logfiles rust sent. It actually affects every Vive owner, so it will be addressed immediately. With Vive these options are invisible due to a last minute change yesterday that wasn’t tested anymore with Vive.
I will issue a hotfix shortly (within the next few hours). Once it is online vorpX should auto update again.
If you still need/want a new download, you can get that at any time from the link below:

RalfKeymasterThe DirectVR page in the menu is only shown if a game actually supports DirectVR.
Currently this true for these games: Fallout 4, Skyrim, Skyrim Special Edition, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, Borderlands 2, Bishock (original), Bioshock 2 (original), Bioshock Infinite, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Black Mesa Source.

ghost_master2kParticipantYep, Bioshock 2 profile works for Rocket League, but I seem to have lost the Geometry 3d strength slider. I can play though, so woooo. Thanks.

ChuckHeadParticipantRe-installed VorpX with the latest web installer, created a RL profile off of Bioshock 2, and viola! Thanks Ralf, you are a god among men.
Give me a bit to tweak some things, and I’ll get a profile up on the cloud later today.
Thanks again!

RalfKeymaster@ steph12 : Thanks!
@ ghost_master2k, ChuckHead : I don’t have Rocket League installed, so I can’t test, but I may have a quick fix. Judging from ghost_master2k’s log entry the beahviour may be caused by a change in vorpX’s handling of .exe’s that initialize multiple rendering API’s at the same time.
Please try another UE3 engine game from the list as a base profile for your custom profile (e.g. Bioshock 2 for DX9 or Bioshock Infinite for DX11 depending on what you need).
You can also try to reinstall vorpX with your web installer and then make a new custom profile with the generic UE3 profile. I uploaded a quick update that restores the old (and normally worse) multi-API-behavior for the generic Unreal engine profile, which *might* (emphasis on might) fix the issue.
If it does, it would be nice if one of you could upload the new Rocket League custom profile to the cloud.
Nov 6, 2016 at 1:40pm #122524In reply to: List of G3D games?
RalfKeymasterThe spreadsheet gives a pretty good overview. A few G3D games are missing (e.g. Bioshock 2, Fallout 4 from briefly skimming over it), but other than that it’s pretty much the current state.
A little hint for advanced users: not all G3D games have positional tracking enabled per default, either because it wasn’t tested or found to be too glitchy. You can enable it in all G3D games yourself though at your own risk if the expert options checkbox is ticked in the config app. The according options then can be found on the head tracking page of the ingame menu.

franzbotsParticipantAt last, it works ! That was that. Thanks Ralf.
I’ve tried with Bioshock 1 as a begining, I’ll try with other ones later.
Until you fix the problem, can I try to copy user data files from bad folder to good one ?
What is the name of the folder you use in user folder ? -
