    Hi!!

Had a great time playing COD:ModernWarfare 3 and Ghosts, and also with Battlefront and other games, thanks to VorpX :)

Now i am trying to get Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare REMASTERED to run, and i also found out that i just have to copy a profile like Ghosts and add the game.exe to it, it works great in 3D!

BUT i cant get the FOV correct?!! I tried this “MWR FPS Changer” http://www.mpgh.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1189486

with Extreme Injector, i tried changing it in the .cfg (but the config is scrambled,so no luck), but i cant get this to work!!

Its not even working without VorpX, so has anyone got this FOV-Hack to work with COD:Remastered?? Tried Anti-Virus on/off,run as admin, different injection methods…i also see it in the Process lists!!! But FOV doesnt change….

Cant fully enjoy it with only ~65 FOV and a Vive…. :(

Maybe some of you have a solution for this :)
    Thanks!!

I used a program called Riftcat with Windows 10 and a USB 2.0 cable from the computer to the phone in tethering mode. Riftcat basically allows hosting of Steam VR games to the phone running an android client. There is another .EXE called ReviveInjector.exe which translates Oculus Rift SDK games to Steam VR.

All I had to do was drag VorpControl.exe onto ReviveInjector.exe and then as an example I also dragged TRU.exe (Tomb Raider Underworld) onto ReviveInjector.exe and voila! I saw VorpX TombRaider Underworld in 2560×1440 on samsung galaxy S7. Obvious advantages — a very cheap VR solution with better image quality than CV1 and Vive, still using your PC to render the VR left and Right images to produce high quality visuals. The only disadvantage is it uses the phones sensors for head tracking which isn’t buttery smooth like a real CV1 or Vive but this is very minor in my opinion given how well everything else works. I got a used s7 on ebay with cracked back glass for $240 and I’m sure there are other good deals.

I also used the latest Dolphin VR emulator with Oculus 1.3 SDK support and was blown away by many games in VR using the Galaxy S7 and a BoboVR Z4 headset.

You can also probably get away with using a cheaper 1920×1080 5.1″ phone display as well and still get to enjoy playing PC games in VR very affordably.

I was considering getting a CV1 but after trying this solution I realize I am getting better image quality. Touch controllers will of course be another game changer.

I’ve only run into one issue.

The Tomb Raider Underworld I was using was not a Steam game so when I dragged TRU.EXE onto ReviveInjector it had no problems kicking into the Vorpx Injector and I could run the VoprX menu and everything was available to configure to my liking.

However I tried dragging iw5sp.exe onto ReviveInjector and because it was a Steam library game and Steam VR was running a message from Steam popped up saying Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is not a Steam VR game and it will only run in desktop mode. When I clicked OK to continue it failed to inject into VorpX and resulted in a black screen with some stuttering sound. I am curious of that stupid Steam warning message is preventing the VorpX injector from working because it works fine with the non-steam Tomb Raider Underworld.

Anyway wanted to share some good news that you can use VorpX with some success to play PC games on your smartphone in high quality (depending on your phone display) with Windows 10 and Riftcat. Riftcat also allows it’s own natively supported VR games on PC to be played across your phone VR headset. It’s a great way to enjoy VR on a budget well at least until they all start requiring motion tracking controllers. I was excited to see the Gnomes and Goblins main menu screen and then couldn’t get to do anything else because it required Vive controllers. Still worth it for Dolphin VR by far. Playing Resident Evil 4 Gamecube version is a real treat. While everything is in stereoscopic 3D the headtracking is completely independent of your movement controls allowing full 360 immersive environment gawking using your head while moving your character in his own direction with gamepad. Very cool way to play many gamecube games and in 2560×1440 VR!

These aren’t all FPS games, but are excellent picks:

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is AWESOME in VR if you’re into mystery adventures
Elite Dangerous if you like space exploration games
The Elder Scrolls Series – primarily Skyrim.
    Fallout 4
    The Batman Arkham Series
    Metro 2033
Call of Duty Black Ops 1-3, Battlefield 3-4 and even Hardline, Any Splinter Cell or Crysis game
    Alien Isolation
    Quake I-III
    Half Life 2
    Portal
The Witcher 1 and 2 if you like extended campaign games that will suck all your time, not sure if Witcher III is manageable at acceptable graphics levels
    Bioshock: Infinite
    Borderlands
    GTA IV and V
and to tickle your fear of heights check out Mirror’s Edge

Essentially if your computer can run it, and it’s built on a major game engine like Unreal, Unity, and quite a few others – it’ll play in VorpX. The less popular it is the more tweaking you’ll have to do though because it won’t have been done already by someone else. Once you get used to the Vorpx in game menu you’ll be able to get games to run. Whether you get a true stereoscopic experience depends on how the game was coded though.

I’m sure that’s clear as mud now.. lol. But hopefully there are a couple of games on there you can check out that are well established as compatible.

I have Vive now but i was running all these games on Dk2 before. They look much better on Vive but Dk2 is also enjoyable.

Amgonst the call of duty games i only own COD: Ghosts. I took a bit to configure it properly but was running well at the end. Very “immersive” but i think it supports only Zbuffer 3d, which means better performance but no positional tracking. I want to play Black Ops 3 in the future; i hope it’s goonna run with Geometry 3d but i am not sure. In any case if is going to work the same as Ghosts it definitely whorts a run.

Hi there, i use the resolution of 1920×1080 instead of 1920×1440 with games having some unsolvable FOV problems (in my case, Call of Duty Ghosts is an example, but also The Crew and other games without 3d rendering). Doing so the upper and lower portions of the screen are occupied by a dinamic effect called “ambience”. This effect can be disabled with the Virtual Cinema mode but not with the regular Vorpx visualization. I think that black screen, in this case, is much better thatn any effect as it blends with the hud itself and the loss of vertical FOV is minimal and can barely noticed using a black background (i am pretty sure of this because of some games like Mirror’s Edge). On the other hand, ambience is like a constant reminder of the adaptation.

I wonder if there’s an advanced setup i can use for that, or if Ralph can consider this for the next Vorpx version. Thanks for any reply.

That’s not really feasible for a number of reasons unfortunately.

The most important one is that most games would be totally unplayable this way since your graphical position would be different from the position that the game uses for player position related calculations. Hope that makes sense.

Another issue is that typical game environments are simply too large. Even if you have a relatively large VR space, let’s say 4x4m, that wouldn’t help much to move freely in a landmass the size of Skyrim or even your typical Call of Duty level.

There may be ways and workarounds for some of these issues in some games, and that will be explored later for a few important titles, but I won’t promise anything in this regard.

If you want to roam large levels and open worlds in a way that works straight forward and for most games, a locomotion platform is the way to go, not room scale VR.

Deeply profile for this game because right now it is flat.
But then I see in the CALL OF DUTY multiple profiles so there probably will be a black ops 3 …

When starting vorpControl I get the following error:

Sorry. vorX encountered a critical error and cannot do its magic. :\
Try restarting the application. If the problem persists, reinstalling vorpX might help.
    Error code: 2

Then when I do reinstall, vorpControl will be loaden and most? features seems to function. Then when I need to start vorpControl again (after reboot) I get the same error and need to reinstall again.

Also the games won’t show on the DK2. I have folowed the instructions and tried all variations of setting (direct, extended HMD, primary, secondary display).
    The games I tried are:
Call of Duty Black Ops II, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and Legue of Legends

When the games start I do see the vorpX 7.5 text in the screen at the bottom left. With the del key I can go to the options. I tried lots of settings.

I have no idea what I can do next.

    Hi!

I have been putting together an Oculus Rift demo set with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Reason I chose this game is that the VorpX driver fully supports it and that it should have stereoscopic 3D. Also read a very enthusiastic forum post at VorpX about it.
I set everything up, but it does not work as expected.

    Main problem:
As soon as I start up the game, I can see VorpX kicking in, it shows a black screen with VorpX logo in the bottom center, version number in left corner and the standard warning message (telling about support and that I should shut off the shadowing feature in the game) is shown. Warning message disappears when I press enter or point the cursor on the OK button and click.
After that, the only thing I see is the same black screen with the VorpX logo and version number. I can hear MW3’s intro starting up (theme song). Pressing Enter on the keyboard actually does something in the background (I progress through the menu, so it seems because the sound responds to it), but I cannot see the game. It almost seems like VorpX’ black screen is ‘blocking’ the game view.

    This is my setup:
Windows 7 (fully up to date)
Oculus Rift DK1 runtime (demo scene runs fine)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (this is a Steam game, bought and downloaded via Steam) – game itself works fine
    Xbox 360 controller (wired)
VorpX driver – just downloaded / installed
Followed exact VorpX instructions for Oculus display settings (cloned screen, etc)
All overlay messages and notifications by Steam have been disabled
Standard Tuscany demo works like a charm
I have tried a lot of different display settings, but nothing seems to fix the issue.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Emile van den Ende

Today I tried Call of Duty World at War at it is reasonably playable using iw5sp.exe , shadows have issues but you can turn them off, the 3d effect is really good with geometry 3d, the only problem is that ironsights don’t look correct, and whenever you’re hit there’s an annoying visual effect.

Call of Duty 1 is openGL. It is based off of IDTech3. None of the stereo injectors work with openGL.

Thanks for the heads up on Remember Me I was just thinking of buying it last week but didn’t want to chance it. I’m installing it now.
