Topic: VorpX fails to start, error
Recently, VorpX stopped working for me. Possible since a Windows 10 update.
The Control is not running, when manually trying to start “vorpControl.exe”, it display a windows application error message saying:
“The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.”When trying to start vorpX Config, I get a similiar error message saying:
“vorpX does not seem to be properly installed. Retrieving some config data failed. Please reinstall the application.”I have already reinstalled en rebooted multiple times. Tried to install on both the default and on different folders.
Anyone else have this issue? Is there anything I can try?

Trying to get VorpX working with the latest World of Warcraft retail build (The War Within expansion). Just hoping for immersive screen mode with some nice stereo depth. Following this youtube tutorial…
They seem to have gotten rid of the “DirectX11 Legacy” option in the latest patch, so I had to select “DirectX11”.
Set to windowed mode.
When launching WoW, I got a “Unexpected Error” about a d3d12.dll in the install folder. The popup suggested I rename it, so I did.
Relaunched WoW, and I got the “Attaching to Wow.exe” popup, no error this time, but…
It launched SteamVR (using a Pimax8kX), and I see the SteamVR void/loading area in my headset, the game window launches on my desktop (I also hear the WoW music in my headphones), but no game in the headset. The VorpX controls (delete key) don’t seem to do anything (no VorpX overlay in the upper left corner of the WoW window, like he gets in his tutorial video).
Has anyone been able to get WoW working with the latest patch? I’m really hoping to figure this out in time for the new expansion (launching next week).

Topic: Gestures Support
Hi, I took a break from vorpx for a while. But recently came back to try when I heard about the newish gesture support. To me this is game changing.
I tried it on two games I thought would be natural: Dishonored and Halo. But couldnt get it working at all. How do you turn it on? I tried in the vorpx menu and add custom gestures of both use or aim. But aiming was still down from my head vs my touch controllers. Is there something that has to be done to set it up that I’m missing?
Or do only some games support gestures?
I’m using VorpX 24.1.0 (for the native Starfield support) on Oculus Rift S. I have set VorpX to use the Rift controllers in Controller emulation mode.
If, at the Starfield prompt ‘Press any button to start’ I press a button on a genuine Xbox controller, then Starfield recognises this and displays appropriate on-screen prompts for in-game actions (docking, boarding a docked ship, undocking etc).
However, if at the ‘Press any button to start’ prompt I press a button on the Rift controller, Starfield acts as if I pressed a button on the keyboard.
Is there any way of making sure that VorpX is making button presses on the Rift controller look to Starfield as if they are button presses on an Xbox controller? Thanks.
I’m not sure if anyone can help me with this. I’m using VorpX 24.1.0 (for the native Starfield support) on Oculus Rift S, and I decided to try Left 4 Dead 2 (build ID: 15163053).
When using the Rift S controllers in Keyboard/Mouse emulation mode I can’t use the left stick to move forward, only backward. While it might be interesting to play the game as a marine who can only back-pedal in a panic, that’s not really what I’m hoping for!
When using the Rift S controllers in Controller emulation mode, the left stick does nothing at all.
I’ve tried memory scan repeatedly, but it fails every time. Is there something obvious I’m overlooking, or is L4D2 support just broken in this version of VorpX? Also, is it possible to disable the right stick so I don’t accidentally nudge my view off centre?

Topic: Random Crashes

I own vorpx now for a longer time.first i used it with my rtx3080 gaming laptop. after some time i made a pc build with a rtx4090. now on both devices i have some random crashes. especially in direct vr games its worse. sometimes i can play for one or two hours without any issues and sometimes it crashes every 5 minutes. i try a lot of different combination of settings and tricks but i can’t figure out why. i also have try to conntact the vorpx support but it seems to be not existing anymore.. so maybe somone in the forum can help me. below u will see my specs and the end of the log file where it crashed.

I’m loving 24.1.0 for the revamped Desktop Viewer, but for some reason it crashes more often than not when I first start it up. It eventually works after several retries.

Ralf, I’d been wanting to give this a try but had been holding off until I started watching the series and you’ve outdone yourself with the DirectVR in this game. Truly beautiful. I’m not using the latest VorpX, but 23.1.5 I think and it’s just great. Should I upgrade? Will in make a difference? I primarily play using the controllers in Gamepad mode.
