Hello all. I am considering buying Vorpx, unfortunately because of circumstances beyond my control I have had to recently sell all my VR hardware! I know, it’s a small tragedy! I had a perfect setup too, with a Pimax 5K XR that I will never find again, since they are discontinued and never come up online anymore… Anyways, I’ll re-buy something better later on and I’ll have this amazing software for that future time!
I understand from reading these forums before posting that the primary purpose of Vorpx is for VR use, and that any other 3D features are unsupported and bonus features. I am OK with this and not asking for anything. I used to have a pair of shutter glasses I connected to an NVIDIA card when I was MUCH younger, back in about 2004, and I loved them but I don’t know what happened to them. Currently, I only have a laptop (Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 4) and while it ran my HMD perfectly, I don’t have that anymore. I would like to find an alternative, and I think all I can do is use 3D anaglyph glasses.
The perfect setup would be to have a wrapper that would allow for Amber/Blue anaglyph, as that allows for near-perfect color reproduction. If that’s not possible, I’ll take what I can get though!
Can Vorpx help me with this? It seems like the answer is “maybe” after reading the forums… If not or if there is a better alternative, would someone please point me in the right direction? NVIDIA used to have this in their driver, but they dropped support, something I thought they would never do! Bastards!
Thanks for reading and for your help! It is greatly appreciated!
Not sure if I understand te problem. Normally using the controller buttons shiuld work just as using keys, i.e. a key is registered as down as long as you press the button.
Also also not sure why you want to use the keyboard emulation in the first place. The mod works perfectly fine with the default gamepad emulation.
I had wanted to be able to simulate a long press of the V-key using the VorpX Hotkey Settings Menu. If I set one of the hot keys as ‘V’, when I aim at or choose this by looking at it, the simulated press if a short-press of ‘V’.
I’m very much a PC gamer and used to playing with my own custom key bindings. The gamepad emulation is very functional but I can’t customise it to my preferences. It used to be that I could use the motion controller to change from keyboard emulation to gamepad emulation when driving. Unfortunately, I cant seem to do that anymore and need to use a mouse to control the on-screen VorpX menu (a re-install of VorpX did not fix the issue for me)
Have the same issue, even before the update.
Now found the log file:
INF: VorpControl: Starting (32bit, version 21.3.5).
ERR: vorpControl: 64bit control not running, restarting.

It seems that the 64Bit control takes a while to start up and is restarted too quickly.
So maybe a small delay is needed before trying to restart?
But yes, I always click OK and continue playing the game.
Been trying to play Prey with the occulus quest and looks great, but not sure how to use the buttons and I can’t find tutorial or anything that explains what each button does. Pleas help cause Im enjoying it so much but kinda stuck…lol

Ralf, for the last few versions of the standalone mod, when you activate the in-game VorpX settings menu it has not been possible to move the cursor and make selections using the motion controllers. Instead it’s necessary to use the mouse. In future versions it would be great if we could have the ability to use the motion controllers again
Ralf that worked! Just using the other build gave me the dX9 option and it’s glorious!
I have a fairly beefy 4080 laptop. How do you recommend getting rid of the stutters? The fps seems great but there’s this odd stutter I can’t really describe.
Super excited. Did not expect it to look this good. I was never a big motion controller fan, so already this has been worth every penny. I’m sure there will be glitching etc, but wow.
Hi Ralf, thanks for replying. I have launched the game many times with the window in the foreground. I have been successful with using a gamepad and keyboard & mouse but it won’t work with my Index controller inputs.
I can’t get my Valve Index controllers to work after the motion tutorial at the start of the Cyberpunk 2077 using the Vorpx VR mod. Can anyone assist?
What resolution do we set in games when using the Quest 3?
I’ve tried so many now and just can’t get it right. I have also tried custom resolutions through the nvidia control panel with no luck.
Do we have to set the resolution of the game, as the same resolution in the Oculus App too?
Thanks.
But now i have a bigger problem related to VR controllers. When I’m in fist fight mode when I move any of thumbsticks fast (to move a character or rotate), the game interprets it also as hit command. Also when I’m in any game menu, it reads fast thumbstick movement as “A” button, so it selects buttons when I’m moving cursor above them. This bug is both in gamepad and mouse/keyboard mapping mode, but when I’m in mouse / keyboard mode it additionally resets mouse location to center of the screen. I’m using Valve Index controllers. Is it something wrong in my settings or it is a bug?
I finally find a solution for this issue. It is specific to Varjo Aero headset. When I disabled “Controller” setting in Workspace tab in Varjo Base the problem was resolved. This setting activates mouse control with the controller in Varjo “virtual desktop”. Theoretically when I launch a game, this desktop turns off, but it seems that there is still some dependence.
I can finally fully enjoy the game, thanks for brilliant mod!
With the standalone mod you see only the game in the task manager, that’s perfectly fine.
Please don’t use VD. Download the Quest/Oculus PC app if you haven’t already and then use Quest Link with Oculus mode selected in the mod config tool. No SteamVR required, no VD required.
If it works correctly, the first thing you see in the headset is a launch room with instructions and a motion controller tutorial.
Hi everyone! I just installed cyberpunk again yesterday because I heard about this awesome VR mod and got a Quest 3. I have the latest everything installed, but when I start Cyberpunk from steam, it doesn’t do anything more than a floating screen in front of me. My motion controllers don’t work – i can move the mouse cursor with one of my controllers but nothing else works. I can also only select continue-load-new (the top 3 menu buttons). The controller won’t control anything past the bottom half of the screen. When I go in game using mouse/keyboard, I can move the camera around just like i could move my mouse cursor around. I don’t have a vorpx menu or tutorial or anything that pops up when I load the game.
What other steps can I do to troubleshoot this? Is there a log kept somewhere that I can look at?
Hi there!
I just purchased a Quest 3 headset 1 week ago and yesterday I downloaded Vorpx.
I was able to get Arma 3 running and play online with my friend but I had significant problems with the HUD and mouse controls. I think the vorpx hotkeys and menus are interfering.
Hitting the middle mouse button should activate Aim Down Sights but instead it switches between VR display modes. Could not figure out how to turn this off.
I was unable to access the action menu while in game.
Also while in the menus the displayed mouse cursor was unable to reach certain buttons on the screen, running out of room to scroll, as the cursor position was out of alignment with the movement.
I was playing around with getting a custom resolution set up to match the native resolution of the Quest 3 so that might have messed things up.
Hmm. Well, I checked the service control panel and the service wasn’t running, nor was vorpcontrol.exe.
Not a real issue with me, I’m not interested in the gestures at this point but thought the virtual desktop looked pretty cool.
