I still don’t have my activation key. I even sent two emails just to make sure. Can I please get an activation key?

I also have a 980ti FTW, i7 processor. Just bought Vorpx yesterday but I’m getting 23-30 fps. I haven’t seen any game perform that bad. I just built this computer with solid state drives and ddr4 16 gb memory, I feel like I should get better fps even at max graphics.

I just got vorpx so I am learning it as I go. I am using the HTC Vive. My problem is with a racing game. I can load to cinema, even zoom in around but I don’t get the VR 360 degree view. Just 1 image that is flat as if I were staring my monitor face to face up close.

If this is the view does this mean it’s not running in VR mode?

Either way..when I am driving on a track and I move my head, the view doesn’t move. The monitor moves with my head but I’m not getting the freedom to look around me to be aware of my surroundings.

Head tracking is set to on but again it’s still not doing anything.

    Any ideas?

If theatre mode is totally different than VR mode then please help me switch to VR. In theatre mode I press delete for the menu and I turn off the theatre view which seems to zoom in but nothing happens from there

    Thanks a bunch

As far as I can tell this software is really just a gimmick. It’s only working about 1/10th of the time. I managed to get ESO and GTA5 to work one time each, and that was after hours of screwing with things that should have nothing to do with this. Seems the only real “support” I’ve seen is “try disabling your AV” which should just be obvious.

If it helps the way I got it to work the one time was by restarting steam, restarting SteamVR and THEN starting VorpX again. NOTE: Even though those steps worked once it never worked again for me.

It simply starts the game in the VorpX small screen on my monitor and doesn’t load in the Oculus HMD.

EDIT: For the record the only game I can get to work 100% of the time through the HMD is BF4 in 64x bit version.

I’ve been trying to get The Elder Scrolls Online working (in VR, not “cinema view”), but it is looking like a lost cause- the first person camera has a limit of 65 degrees (apparently even the engine tops out at 110), and all of the mentions of 3rd party FOV mods are broken links. Even if you can put up with the nauseatingly narrow FOV, you get slaughtered in combat because you can’t see the danger zones.

Elite: Dangerous is of course gorgeous and immersive right out of the box, but it’s lacking in the compelling content and exciting loot departments, so it gets old pretty fast.

Has someone tried this with a MMORPG that actually works, both for immersive VR and playability?

Yup, without pausing the watcher game won’t even start. Paused the watcher, let the game go into menu screen, resume watcher, start the Desktop Viewer. After a few seconds, I get a magnifying glass in my Oculus and picture freezes, while it still going on my PC Screen.

Anyone here tried Witcher 3 on CV1? How well were you able to get it to work? Did you use any specific mods, can you share your vorpx settings? I am finding very little information about Witcher 3 and vorpx, for some reason. If I try to run it with vorpx it just crashes, won’t even work. If I pause vorpx, run the game, then enable vorpx and run desktop viewer, desktop viewer crashes similarly to “star citizen”. Any recommendations, ideas, working profiles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance!

I had same problem as you just now, also using VorpX with Oculus Rift CV1 (and Mass Effect 1 from Steam). I noticed that when I start Mass Effect 1, I get the “allow this program to make changes to your computer?” Windows popup dialog. When you say “Yes” to that, I believe Windows then runs that program (in this case, Mass Effect 1) under a different user profile than the one you are logged in as. I theorized that this might prevent VorpX from being able to see that the MassEffect.exe program has started, because it only scans programs started by the same user who started up VorpX.

So I exited VorpX and restarted VorpX using [right-click]->[Run as administrator] on my VorpX desktop icon. Then I started Mass Effect 1, got the “allow this program to make changes to your computer?” popup as usual, clicked “Yes”, Mass Effect 1 continued starting up, and VorpX hooked immediately.

    Hi

So i just bought vorpx, and im getting REALLY low fps in most games.
Dishonoured for example runs at over 150-200fps on my monitor at max settings. But with vorpx geometry 3d, even at a lower resolution with settings turned down im struggling to get 30.

Its fine if i go up against a wall or something where its not graphically intensive, but general gameplay is practically impossible

Deus ex human revolution cant even get 20fps on medium settings.

    Is this normal?

    I have an i7 2700k OC’d to 4.6 GHz and a 980ti

Not sure what to say, except that I’ve done all the above and am just not getting a decent VR experience. In geometry mode it looks like “fake 3D,” and it’s barely making 30FPs. Z-buffer looks even worse. Maybe this is playable for some people? It’s possible I was expecting too much. Hard to know what other people are seeing.

I’m trying to get Final Fantasy 13 Lighting Returns up and running and no matter what I do I can’t get it to hook. It’s the first game I haven’t been able to get working. I’ve tried creating a shortcut, running both the game and vorpx in admin (and a combination of each) and also have copied profiles from other games to try and get it working.

No matter what I can’t even get it to recognize that it’s a game. I can obviously load it up in virtual cinema mode but I’d like to be able to have the 3d effect. I’ve tried looking into tridef as well as iz3d and haven’t any luck there either.

I’d be happy to donate a few bucks via paypal if someone could help find a solution?

Can someone help me get F1 working with Oculus CV1 please. I’m trying to setup 2013 at the moment but would like to get 2015 working even though its not on the list. Everything I’ve found has been out of date. The game shows up in the headset, in 3d. The problem is tracking. All the old tutorials on this say they use opentrack to track the headset, but opentrack only supports up to oculus runtime 0.8, and no sign of any updates to 1.3 any time soon. I even tried installing 0.8 which messed up the current oculus software and I had to reinstall that. On the web site it says “Many titles (mostly racing games) do not have mouselook. vorpX takes care of that and enables headtracking in many of these titles”. So am I missing something??? Please can someone tell me how to set this game up.

You can use any resolution you want. Try 1600×1200 or 1920×1440 if your PC can handle that for the best possible image quality. The default recommendation of 1280×1024 is a compromise between quality and performance.

If you are seeing a screen in front you in full VR mode, you probably have changed the Image Zoom setting on the image page of the vorpX menu. Please make sure to reset the Image Zoom to the default 1.0 and the aspect mode to Pixel 1:1.

These are the defaults for Skyrim, and with these settings the whole image is filled, so you are fully in the game. If you already tweaked a lot, it might make sense to restore the default profile in the config app.

Instead of using image zoom, set the game’s field of view (FOV) to the value suggested for your headset. in Skyrim that is particularly easy. You just have to click the “Adjust FOV” button on the main page of the vorpX ingame menu.

In regard to performance please make sure to use an unmodded Skyrim and do not use any performance degrading ini tweaks (uGridsToLoad etc.). Skyrim is a highly CPU intensive game, even more so with vorpX in Geometry 3D mode.

With an unmodded Skyrim and a recent CPU you should be able to get ~50fps in most parts of the map with dips below that in towns (especially Whiterun).

If you want to enhance your framerate significantly beyond that, change to Z-Buffer 3D in the vorpX menu. Doesn’t look as good, but is a lot faster.

Thanks alot for the tip Hannes.
I tried using the war hammer profile as you suggested and imported the ESO.exe, it gives me the geometry option, but my right eye is black when i use it. The HUD shows but none of the actual in game environment. Please let me know if there is any way I can fix that. However the Z3D options work and do provide a slight 3D effect, so it will do for the time being I suppose. I really wish they would add the full 3D back to ESO, I never even got to experience it :(

Can any one tell me how is the Fallout 4 vorpx experience. Im looking forward to playing that full in VR as well. I’m just loving Skyrim in VR after I got all the proper mods and settings right. Unfortunately I only get 30 fps with a GTX 970. A few more frames would be nice, but I haven’t tried to go below ultra setting yet. Gonna be playing all the good Location Quest mods in VR, any recommendations?

    Hello Ralf and Everyone,

I’m having an issue with PCSX2. (Settings and Version info at the bottom.)

VorpX does hook into PCSX2 and I do see the game in the Virtual Cinema (default).
But I cannot see any 3D effect in the game (Grandia III), even when I close one eye and alternate between them I cannot see any difference between the image.

A major problem is that when I open the vorpX menu using the DEL key the game video goes black and remains that way until I close PCSX2 and restart it. I tried to save my settings using the OK&Save button in the vorpX menu overlay then restart PCSX2, but the vorpX settings reset back to the defaults.

What can I do to get 3D working in PCSX2?

    PCSX2 Version: 1.4.0-20160105132032- compiled on Jan 5 2016
    GS: GSdx 20160105132032 (MSVC 19.00, AVX) 1.0.0 [gsdx32-avx]
GSdx Settings: Renderer [Direct3D11 (Hardware)], Custom Resolution [1280×1024]
GS Window: Aspect Ratio [Fit], Custom Window Size [1280×1024]
    BIOS: USA v02.00(14/06/2004) Console
Emulation Settings: Preset 2 – Safe (faster)
    Headset: Oculus Rift CV1
    OS: Windows 10 x64
    vorpX: 16.2.0
