I cannot get it to work at all. I disabled 2 out of 3 monitors, and i cant get the menu to pop up in skyrim at all. everything is crammed right up against my face, so i cant even play. on top of that whenever vorpx is enabled, windows get randomly moved to the rift. really pain. any suggestions? not really able to search through the forum
disabled Nvidia 3D, didnt help. Also tried to run Fallout 3 and if I pick “Show only on Rift DK2” I get error – Failed to initialize renderer. Unknown error creating the Gamebrio Renderer. It works fine if I do on main screen or even on all screens (Clone) but it wont show in DK2 then.
I followed each step thoroughly even going through multiple post and threads reading everything on what I could be missing. I just uninstalled 3D vision driver and 3D vision controller driver. I’m also going to try to experiment with the watcher to off. I haven’t tested those 2 yet but I will later on today.
I really want it to work as all I play is planetside 2, FSX, iracing, assesto corsa, LFS, GTR2, for sim.. I have DCS full but haven’t played
I might get project cars and rfactor 2 if vorpx really turns out good with those games I have if I can get it to work
Greetings! I just received my DK2 yesterday, I’m VERY impressed with Vorpx so far. A few minutes in Skyrim last night (really easy to get going once I had my IPD sorted), and it seems better than native support in Halflife. Amazing!
Anyways, I spent have the evening fiddling with windows on shifting display and spent some time finding better ways. I thought I’d share.
Some tips:
You can quickly move an active window to another montitor with Win+Shift+Left/right arrow.
You can also hover over the taskbar icon until the apps preview pops up, right click on the preview and select ‘move’, then tap an arrow key and the window will be locked to the cursor, dag it where you want.
Check out this app: , the instuctions are on that site, but the download link is broken – google for it and find a safe site to grab it from. IT will allow you to set up a hotkey to quick switch which is your primary monitor.
I’d love to hear any other tricks that people are using.
Its set to Extend Desktop to HMD.
if i launch while its in portrait mode ill need to tilt my head…..
no vorpx message either.
DK2 resolution is 1080×1920 (because of portrait mode)
DK2 is default screen (other DK2 demos work in landscape mode with out problem , if i launch in portrait mode i need to tilt my head aswell)
I also removed Geforce Experiance and restarted my PC no luck.
strangly in portrait mode it does work. but then i need to tilt it 90 degree to see it proper(and in landscape mode i get weird display)
even the demo of the OR it self is in portrait its really weird
while in landscape mode it works with out a problem same goes with the DK2 demos overall they all work. apart from games via vorpx (half life 2 and Team fortress 2 work with out a problem via steam vr)
Thanks for the overall help ill go and make a support ticket via support |at| vorpx com
I can get BF4 to work, but I have problems with the controls via my gamepad. When I use the right analog stick I get a fast turnaround, just like when moving the mouse fast. I tried using less sensitivity as well in the game as in vorpx. Also tried to have the setting for handling the gamepad internally on, but this makes it even worse. Any help?
Another fix to make AIM a toggle and not a “hold down”…
My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\WillowInput.ini
Only under the section [WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput]
Search for the line containing “RightMouseButton” and REPLACE it with these three lines:
Bindings=(Name=”RightMouseButton”,Command=”ToggleAimOn”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Bindings=(Name=”ToggleAimOn”,Command=”StartAltFire | setbind RightMouseButton ToggleAimOff”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Bindings=(Name=”ToggleAimOff”,Command=”StopAltFire | setbind RightMouseButton ToggleAimOn”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Now your right mouse button aiming works as a toggle instead of having to keep it held down.
By the way, even though it seems those three lines are cut short on the forum interface they are not…if you use mouse to highlight and then do cut and paste it gets everything needed.
Ok I got a way to show fps stats in borderlands 1 and for some reason it still tops out at only 60fps when UseVsync=True even though I have rift set to 75hz in windows and using as primary display…not a big deal..
Now when I set UseVsync=False I get between 160 and over 300fps. After reading some older messages when the game first came out they used to get 40fps and below lol…we’ve come a long way.
got it installed but even after going through all steps in documentation cannot get it to work with any combo
best i get are dual displays in my rift with bioshock infinate (like I am looking at my monitor when wearing my rift in previous dk1 world)
Very frustrating
especially with someone with very high tech level
Mad an account to answer this one. Yeah this is an issue with the way the game developer supported 360 input on the PC. The bad news is that it wants you to use either mouse+keyboard or 360 pad. Vorpx uses mouse inputs for head-tracking so when you use a 360 pad it wigs out. Both Thief and Deus Ex: HR have this problem and I do believe they were both made by Eidos. Now this is not all games, plenty do play well with both inputs at the same time like the Crysis and Bioshock series. There is no ini or console command to disable the 360 pad auto-detect within the game and plugging it in after the game has started and using xpadder to map k&m commands to your 360 pad will not work either. Same goes for Vorpx’s own gamepad tool. I spent like 2 days trying to get a work around for both Thief and Deus Ex HR.
THE GOOD NEWS IS that you can use a non xbox360 gamepad and xpadder and control is restored. Newegg.com even has some knock off 360 pads if you want to keep the same joystiq layout for like 10$.
Or you could just go k&m but if you wanted to do that you wouldn’t have asked. Thief does come out to be a glorious experience though once you get it all setup.
thank you for taking the time to answer. That sounds great, tomorrow a friend will lend me his ps3 controller so I will give it a try with that if that works I think I wil order one of your mentioned knockoff gamepads, guess that should take care of my gamepad problems in skyrim as well.
thanks very much :)
Even though I used to run Bioshock Infinite and others using the rift as extended display I recently tried making the rift the primary display in windows settigns and configured vorpx to output using “system settings”. I also disabled AERO and I with this config I was able to activate VSYNC properly and go to 75Hz in game settings like COD MW3, so now I always run vorpx games using primary display..the experience is much cleaner imo, not to mention could be less problematic with getting some games to work.

So I finally get a program to draw on the Oculus DK2 (Batman Arkham Aslyum), but it appears sideways with one eye view on top of the other instead of side by side and the display oriented on its side as well. The VorpX overlay is there and everything, the game is just not displaying right in the DK2.
So how do I get it to draw correctly?
The same configuration with Skyrim just continually throws a Failed to render error and the game won’t even start.
Even more separation won’t help in that case, at least unless the default isn’t way too low, which I will check tomorrow.
Did you try the vorpX 3D FOV Enhancement in addition to the FOV changer? Without having checked it, I would guess that combined with the 100° from the FOV changer you mentioned this way you should definitely be able to get a large enough FOV.
Gah, forum lost my reply somehow. Anyway, I found it!
Disabling my Intel HD Graphics 4000 in Device Manager solved the problem. I forgot I even had an integrated chipset in this machine, but apparently it was causing a problem. Disabled, and now I can get to work seeing if i can make DXHR pretty ^_^
