1st, do we have a work around that fixes attaching to microsoft games through games pass

2nd, Do we have a list of games that still work with the gamepass and Vorpx. I had no issues with Halo MCC

I am not a modder nor am I familiar with coding so this may be a silly question. But, how come some older games like Doom or Half Life have the capability for full VR immersion (I.e. hand tracking, locomotion, physics) but others like Halo or Clive Barkers Jericho do not? Is it difficult to create hand models and tracking for these?

I would love to try to create something! I’m new to Vorpx but have been tweaking Dying light for the last few days using my HP Reverb G2 and am very excited at the possibilities. I know there’s native support but it’s nauseating without head tracking so I’m using a cloud profile. Is there a way to combine the 2 methods? I can’t seem to get the full 3D immersion from the cloud profiles like the native option. Lastly, is it possible to add in hands like people did with half life using Gary’s mod or something?

In Bioshock Infinite per default the FOV is handled via an .ini edit, not with the memory scanner. Please reset the profile to default in the config app and afterwards make sure to follow the hint shown in the top left corner of the game window regarding setting the FOV slider in the game’s options to max. Without that the .ini edit DirectVR does has no effect.

Halo 4 doesn’t have an official vorpX profile. If there happens to be a user profile with supposed memory scanner functionality it’s unlikely to fully work, if at all. The scanner configuration is fairly game specific. Also scanner profiles don’t always include FOV. You can see what the scanner does and what it doesn’t in a game on the DirectVR page of the vorpX menu.

The G3D FOV Enhancement option can be found under “More 3D Settings” on the main page of the vorpX menu. Be aware though that in most newer games it causes too many visual glitches to be of much use.

BTW: A general way how to handle FullVR for games without automatic FOV adjustment is explained in the “1-2-3 Game Setup” guide in the vorpX help. The method described there isn’t always 100% perfect, but it always works. Additional information regarding FOV can be found in the “Essential Hints” guide in the help.

In Task Manager, I Ended Task on Windows Defender, some Nvidia stuff, and a Logitec app for my mouse. The rest was Windows 10 system, Steam, or vorpx stuff. But FOV scan still fails for all my games.

I did try to fix Bioshock Infinite and Halo 4 manually, but (and I know I probably sound dumb), I can’t find 3D FOV Enhancement in the in game vorpx menu. Am I crazy, or is the setting missing in these games in geometry mode? Or do I have to turn off Direct VR memory mode for it to appear?

P.S. Three weeks ago, I was able to do it all manually for Resident Evil 3 2020, but it may have been partly the First Person Mod.

The Halo games work beautifully in VorpX. Unfortunately the game’s HUD and crosshair design doesn’t translate well to VR. I found a way to remove it in the original Halo CE, but not in the later games. Has anyone found a way to remove the crosshair and Hud in any of other games, specifically Halo 3?

MOD TO REMOVE HUD AND CROSSHAIR FROM HALO 3 (IT USES A D3D11.DLL FILE WHICH MAKES IT INCOMPATIBLE WITH VORPX: https://www.nexusmods.com/halothemasterchiefcollection/mods/88#:~:text=Press%20caps%20lock%20to%20toggle%20HUD%20on%2Foff.%20Press,toggle%20the%20HUD%20off%20with%20an%20Xbox%20controller

    Hello,

I seen some topics on my search in regards to independent movement of the head vs gun. Some was saying this can only be done in ARMA III. (topics from like 2019)

Is there a tutorial on how this can be done? I saw mentions of like track IR etc.

And what’s the latest on this? I initially tried to play Far Cry 5, which had both head and gun combined. (I though because of imported profile).

Then I tried Crysis 3, with same results.

Is there any workarounds, did anyone manage to get the head and gun move independently, or better even, bind the gun to the hand controllers (I`m using Reverb G2). I found a demo that came with the WMR app, I think it was Halo or something, that had the guns binded to the controller – that was very impressive.

After getting a few more hours to play (I’m in Act II now) I have to say that with some fine tuning, Cyberpunk 2077 is incredible in Vorpx, assuming you have the hardware to crank everything up to the max. I think they wanted to do the game in VR but found that it was just not possible for most people given the fact that you need some pretty amazing hardware.

I really couldn’t imagine playing it any other way… I’ve noticed some bugs, and the game occasionally crashes but it’s 100% worth it. Maybe the best game since Halo CE or GTA V imho.. This is how the game was meant to be played it seems.

Here are some things I did, that may or may not suit your taste:

    – significantly zoomed out the image so that I can see all of the hud, did some fine tuning on the zooming/edge peek mode so that you could really just play it in edge peek mode at times

    – cranked the 3D in edge peek mode up

    – changed the background to black, really helped make the game much more immersive, when in VR view it just looks like limits to my FOV rather than a floating screen

    – cranked up the saturation and dialed in a few other settings like that

Kind of amazing the developers didn’t just put a mode like this in the game it’s ridiculous how much better it is than playing it on a monitor, even if this is sort of a sit-down “hyrbid VR” solution. Ralf has single handedly fixed Cyberpunk 2077 and if we ever get a full 3D mode that’s just icing on the cake.

Anyway, hardware specs if you’re curious:
Oculus Quest 2 (HP G2 finally shipped and I hear it’ll be even better)
    5900x
    3090FE
    32GB 3600 RAM
2TB Samsung Pro PCIE 4.0 SSD
    Water-cooled CPU + 9 fans

So pretty heavy duty computer, but if you can do it, it’s absolutely amazing. I wouldn’t recommend it any other way.

Game ran amazing on my RTX 2070 Super and Rift S:

    My Initial Thoughts:
You need the LATEST VorpX patch for this to work and the game now has a DEFAULT profile that works out the box.
There is no 3D geometry yet but Z3D works really well.
I would rate this game in VorpX along with Halo 4 and Titnafall 2!

    Halo: Spartan Assault (G3D)

After days of tweaking the Halo Shooter from 2013 finally looking good with VorpX.I recommend using resolutions around 2880/3200 for more details.

    – Optimized for Cinema Modes
    – Full VR not recommended
    – Nice details on higher resolutions
    – Profile available at the cloud

    hey,

if you’re looking to play this game with vorpx here’s some infos to get it working.

for g3D use conarium profile copy and attach to swd7-win64-shipping.exe located at Xuan Yuan Sword VII\SWD7\Binaries\Win64.

for z3D use halo : the master chief collection profile copy and attach exe the same way.

you can event tweaks the engine.ini file if you wish and modify fov with unreal engine unlocker.

    here’s my copy/paste engine.ini located at Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\SOFTSTAR\SWD7\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
make sure to make it read only.

It is working for me and i can even say that it is working very well !
(like you said need to remove shadow to use G3D profile without problem, at least for me).

Thanks a lot dellrifter22 for your work on this (and same for halo master chief collection).

Halo 1+2 will not work since theyre using DX9. The official Halo: The Master Chief Collection may work. If the profile doesnt include the Halo 3 game exe yet, make a copy with DirectVR and Shader Settings and assign it to Halo 3.

I have access to the Rift-S, Pimax 8K+ and Index. My personal take is the Rift-S is the most frictionless experience, be it in terms of setup or *perceived* performance. The Index is close and is a more technically advanced bit of gear, but the steamvr eco-system is starting to show its seams. The motion smoothing solution for Oculus is far more accomplished than the SteamVR equivalent. Project Cars 2 / DCS World with its graphics options turned all the way down with no super sampling on the Index *feels* about the same as playing it on a Oculus with maxed settings and some super sampling despite the Rift-S having a lower refresh rate. The Oculus ASW implementation simply resolves motion and reduces artefacts far better than the SteamVR equivalent. There’s also other odd quirks to SteamVR… like performance tanking if you have another GPU in your system running secondary monitors (even if there’s no other apps or additional windows open/running in the background).

That said, I found Vorpx works better with the Index and Pimax than Rift-S.

The clarity/res/fov of the index is great and has vastly reduced SDE over the Rift-S but the Index has an occasional glare/bloom/halo issues.

Oculus games work well under revive and is rather painless/frictionless. I was to understand Stormland was a resource hog or not optimised for non-Oculus HMDs but it worked fine for me with very little tweaking.

All the headsets have pros/cons and, with the exception of cost, those pros/cons put them on a level playing field or at least it really comes down to personal preference. The limited FOV killed me, so I used the Pimax and was happy but the quirks of its software and colour reproduction haunted me so I went with the Index and was happy and then the handholding and ASW quirks of steamVR annoyed me so I went back the Rift-S, and then the cycle continued…

I think 2021 and beyond will be exciting for HMDs, but if you’re more or less happy with what you have now, I don’t think switching to a currently available HMD is really going to be a game changer.

Anyone get Halo 3 to work right in VorpX yet? DirectVR doesn’t work, but I do get picture in HMD, so I think we just need a profile. I will try to copy profile from Halo 1 or 2, but will have to wait until tomorrow.

Titan Fall 2 works very well. I’m loving it. Also, Resident Evil 7 and Halo: Master Chief Collection (Halo 3 just released for it TODAY!).
