Hello, all!
I’m beating a dead horse a bit here, but has anyone figured out how to run Mass Effect 3: Legendary Edition? There’s an official profile for 1, but none for 2 or 3.
There are a few suggestions:
* Rename MassEffect3.exe to MassEffect1.exe – Doesn’t work, because the Legendary Edition launcher needs to launch these files by name. There are many existing threads on this, with no solution.
* Use the original ME2 and ME3 games – not helpful, since saves aren’t compatible, and I don’t have those games (I just have the LE editions).
* Wait for an official Vorpx profile to arrive – It’s been 5 years.I’d love to try and make custom profiles for ME2:LE and ME3:LE, but can’t, since those exe files names are already taken by Vorpx official profiles. I know this is a deliberate choice by Ralph, But I’m asking to please, please at least give us the option to mess around with this and get it working. If we mess up the profiles, that’s on – I’ll happily reset those, but it’s better than just not having the option.
It’s very different than the original kinda like the difference Resident Evil is doing with remakes so they’re not the same games, Mass Effect3 isn’t the same as the remake. Anyone had any joy geting Mass Effect Legendary Edition working with Vorpx cause it’s on steam sale again
I happened to have a GTX 1080Ti, RX 6750XT and a RX 6800XT for some time. And decided to test a few games with vorpX on the same system.
Most games work fine on all three, performing as you’d expect for the GPU.However there were a couple where the FPS tanks in geometry 3D for radeon cards. The ones I found are Mass Effect 1 and 2 of Legendary Edition, Mass Effect Andromeda and F1 2020.
The RX cards drop to 2-15 FPS in ME1/ME2 LE, and 30-40 FPS in ME Andromeda and F1 2020. Compared to 60-80 in ME1/ME2 LE and Andromeda, and 100+ in F1 2020 for the 1080Ti.
This considering the 6750XT and 6800XT are both more powerful than the 1080Ti.I scoured a bit in the forums and found a few complaining of poor performance on the 6000 series. That is actually how I decided to test F1 2020.
There doesn’t seem to be something obviously in common between these games. For example standalone version of ME2 doesn’t have this issue.
Also Z3D works close to native FPS, with RX cards preforming better as expected.I used DDU on every GPU swap, disabled all AMD features (active sync, boost, chill etc.), disabled AMD overlay, forced Vsync OFF globally. I tried lower game settings, different resolutions, fullscreen/borderless/windowed, OpenXR/SteamVR/Generic 3D Display, all sync options in vorpX.
I’m not sure what else to try.
Greetings 3D fans,
I am thinking about buying VorpX for Doom2016 and Dishonored 2!
I´m slooooooowly running out of VR games because there is not much in true AAA quality after Half-Life Alyx and Moss, only indie-stuff and 2 hour games, that´s why I want regular AAA games in VR.
Just like Alien Isolation with that Mother-Mod, wow one of the BEST games for VR out there! But VR has one significant flaw, everything is way too small and not life-like sized, and that´s why all games need to have the SteamVR world slider set to 120% to have the world around me in authentic life-like size.
Otherwise VR would look like a completely off and strange dwarfen world with ridiculous 140cm dwarfs as NPC´s standing around, chairs and tables look like made for elementary school children, and in general everything is only half the size it should be in VR when playing without the SteamVR world slider (which is the most legendary and important option ever implemented in any program!)The world scaling option in SteamVR solves this problem diving into some ridiculous dwarven world whenever putting on the headset, for good!
Everything looks great now thanks to SteamVR world scaling. Even the cockpits in Flight Simulator 2020 needs slight scaling correction, the Fenix Airbus has a perfect life-like size in 110%, and the DCS jetfighters look great at 115-122% world size scaling.
Alien Isolation needs SteamVR world scale adjustment of 125% otherwise small children´s hands are holding the flamethrower.
You see how important size scaling is for VR? It is the main difference between being fully immersed, or being in a strange dwarven world where nothing has the right size and scale. So to get to the point, it is not possible for me to enjoy VR without world scaling option because only having the correct size of objects gives immersion.
X-Plane for example has no world scale slider in VR, that´s why the cockpit chairs have the size for elementary school children, ridiculous and absolute impossible to immerse myself in such a cockpit.
You see, not graphics but seeing objects in the the right proper world-like size makes a game a masterpiece or a no-go in VR. :)
My question is:
Has VorpX a world size slider option for games like Doom2016, Dishonored 2, (and I would also love to play Outlast and Soma if possible)?
Without world scaling the immersion and sense of size and height is so off that a VR gane is not enjoyable.
I need to know if I can adjust the size of the 3D world when using VorpX for a game before buying it :)I took a break from gaming – about 2 months. When I came back, my controller doesnt seem to be working the way it used to in VorpX. Im using a PS5 controller connected via blueteeths and, sometimes, usb cable (if BT doesnt work for whatever reason). It always simply worked with PC games (via Steam) and with VorpX. Some games required me to turn off Xbox Controller Support but now when I do that, it just no longer works. (When playing outside of VorpX, the controller works fine, so this issue is just in VorpX). Interestingly enough, one game works fine (Days Gone), but not the others ive tried (Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, and Mass Effect Legendary MS1/2).
I notice that when I hold down the PS button, the right thumb stick works as a mouse, and right and left bumper 1’s work (zoom and shoot). So that tells me there is some form of kb/mouse thing going on. But these games worked fine a few months back. Now, nothing. I tried also switching to ‘game pad’ in the menu, (where you can select gamepad / KB/Mouse etc.) as well as all the Xbox Controller Support Options (off, partial, hide, full etc.) and nothing.
Any assist is greatly appreciated!
Ben
I just tried to play ME2 Legendary Edition, but the geometry mode is missing the shadows. So i switched to Z-Normal to get the shadows back. It works, but the depth information/masking is all jumbled and over the place.
When i tried the same thing with ME1 LE, i didn’t have this issue. Am i missing something in ME2? Maybe i’m using the wrong profile (default)? Maybe it’s a bug?
Hey guys, sorry if this issue is as incredibly noob as it feels, but I can’t seem to find the answer on the old ME threads on these forums and I’m a complete newcomer to VorpX settings (and PCs, honestly) so not only don’t know *what* I need to change, I don’t know *where* the settings are (or if the term I should be using while asking is colour, or lighting, or saturation, or…)
Basically, I’m launching the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and finding that once my headset (Oculus Quest 2) switches from showing what’s on the desktop, to running with VorpX in ‘immersive screen mode’, the colour and the lighting of the game completely blow out. I mean, Mass Effect games love their lens flares at the best of times, but this is next level: I take my headset off and look at what my monitor is showing and it’s all muted colour palettes and shadows with spots of light, and then I look back through my headset and the humans’ skin looks dark orange while the Asari are shining such a bright neon blue you can’t see where the edges of their models intersect with the white walls behind them. It runs wonderfully smooth, everything’s scaled correctly and the 3D effects look great, but the colours are just so blown out it almost hurts. It’s happening across each of the games, too.
Since the Oculus is showing the ME:LE launch menu with a pretty direct 1:1 replication of what the monitor is showing in terms of colour, quality and lighting, I assume this means something’s going on from the VorpX side – but it seems no matter what settings I fiddle with in the in-game VorpX menu, it doesn’t resolve the issue.
Has anyone come across a similar issue, or can point me to the settings I should be fixing up? Is this a resolution issue (there’s no blurriness or stretchiness, just the colour/lighting being off, but I’m not tech savvy enough to know if it’s related), is it something else, or is it just the way that these games port to 3D?Appreciate any help.
