fallout 76 runs good with vorpx?

When playing Fallout 4, if I pull up the “pipboy” menu it’s grayed out completely and you can’t see anything. You can hear the tabs moving when you press buttons, but you can’t see anything. I went through the forums and didn’t see anything similar to this. I tried the edgepeek too and it still shows gray. Without being able to use the pipboy I won’t be able to play the game in Vorpx which is a shame because it plays perfect otherwise. Any help or tips anyone might be able to give me would be great if you have the time to spare.

I would love to see something like this. Currently there are lot of custom profiles out there, but all I can rely on is the number of upvotes.

Personally, I would really, really like to see more G3D profiles that work properly; like 100% properly. So far I’ve seen zero of these. While I’m sure some of this is just bad luck of not playing games where G3D works 100% accurately, it’s still my only real disappointment with vorpX, which otherwise I get happier with every time I use it. Even the best profiles I’ve used (Fallout 3, for example) have issues with certain elements (bring up the Pip-Boy and you’ll see what I mean). The vast majority of other titles I’ve tried have issues with shadows, lighting, or both.

Even though G3D take so much overhead, in the vast majority of cases I would choose G3D mode in Virtual-Cinema way down at 30fps over Z3D in VR at 90fps (also, many of the games I play aren’t suitable for VR anyway.)

Maybe a program like this would promote more G3D authorship.

(And, as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t think it would be a bad idea for Ralf to charge a nominal fee for full G3D support. I would happily, no, I would JOYFULLY pay a few dollars per game for perfect G3D.)

    Hi,

just wanted to know, whether there is ANY other/new way to play Amnesia TDD with Radeon GPU (RX6700XT with HP Reverb G2), since it’s been a few years.
The (basically) immersive screen variant is nice, but is there a fix for the “eye switching” and stutter to play it in Geometry 3D, yet?
I basically got the same problem as quoted below, but sometimes one eye goes just dark and another shows (part of) the image.

    (anyway, Happy New Year everyone!)

I cannot play Amnesia Dark Descent at all. Both eyes get flashing flickering of the game and the frame rates is so low it would be less than 1 frame per second. Im running win 10 64 bit. AMD fx-8350 Black edition and an R9 390x video card. Quake 2 does the exact same thing. I have tried many settings to no avail. Games like Skyrim and fallout 4 run just fine. It seems to be a possible issue with Open GL not really sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Everyone,

Hoping someone on here has run into this. I emailed VorpX support and they were helpful (thanks Ralf) but my issue persists – I see Fallout76 is supported and I have seen others use it.

My PC is Win 11 / Fallout76 latest official build / no overlays or weird stuff

I can run and hook other applications and games just fine. However Fallout76 hands on the Steam VR “Next up”. I have tried making a VorpX shortcut to it, different profiles (official and cloud), etc.

No matter what – the same problem:
    -Fallout76 launches
    -SteamVR says Next Up Fallout76
-On screen FO76 has the Vorpx overlays
-Ctrl+Alt+Shift does not close the overlay as VorpX says, del does not open any menu (probably because I am not able to see it in the HDR)
-If I load the game the tracking does follow the headset and that works, the VorpX overlay logo is in the bottom center however the HMD sits on Next Up

    My headset is a Vive.

Has anyone else run into this or a fix?

    Dragonshard (G3D/Z3D)

Early Dx9 game in “Spellforce Style”. Game falls back on low resolution, though it doesnt look too bad in Cinema Modes. Custom resolutions can be used following these instructions https://www.wsgf.org/dr/dungeons-dragons-dragonshard.

    – Optimized for Cinema Modes
    – Profile available at the cloud

I just started using the Oculus Quest2 with VorpX via Virtual Desktop wifi streaming. Before I used the Vive and when I played VorpX games where I needed the Xbox One gamepad, I would just turn them off the Vive wands. No fuss.

Well the situation seems slightly more complicated with the Quest2.

Like before the Xbox One controlled works and it works like a normal xbox one controller ingame complete with vibration UNLESS I dare bump the Ouculus Touch controllers. Then the native xbox support goes away and instead my Xbox One controller falls back to some sort of crappy keyboard / mouse emulation mode.

I know this is happening because vibration function goes away, my mapping is wildly different, and controls are suddenly horrible and the game is unplayable.

Some things I did to troubleshoot:

    1. I disabled gamepad emulation mode for the Touch Controllers in virtual desktop

    2. I disabled touch controller functionality within VorpX

    3. I disabled VorpX from using any of my xbox controller buttons.

    4. Gamepad Controller “takeover” functionality in VorpX is set to “Off”.

Even with all of the above, as son as I move my touch controllers, my Xbox controller no longer has native access to Rocket League and has its controls rebound.

Any idea how I can fix this without having to pull batteries out? Is there a way to turn off the Oculus Touch controllers?

I am running VorpX 21.3.1 in SteamVR mode (I haven’t tried Oculus mode yet)

    1) For those detecting Malware, I’m running only MS Defender and it detected nothing wrong.

    2) Played with it in v1.31 for a few minutes and it looks pretty good. I’m surprised the performance is as good as it is. So far this doesn’t impact performance as much as I expected it to. BUT, I do still notice a lot of artifacts around NPCs. I double and triple checked to be sure I was on “Direct VR” (or whatever it’s called). It also doesn’t get quite as much sharper as I expected at lower resolutions. Compared to, say, Fallout 3 or Fallout 4, where the Z3D -> G3D is blindingly obvious, it’s more subtle here. Is this due to the Direct VR mode, or do I have something wrong? I will also have to push 90Hz because the right/left interlaced rendering becomes glaringly apparent at lower refresh rates.

    3) Is there any way I can make it respect my hotkey assignments from vorpX settings? I have things like ‘Reset VR view’ configured to different keys than usual. Most important would be the vorpX menu buttons, which I map to keyboard strokes only (I have an Xbox controller and I’ve added the little keyboard, so I can access all these right on my controller.)

I’ll try it with v1.23 once I get a full backup of that directory completed. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will work.

Thank you Ralf! What a great piece of work.

    Well, i tried but sorry guys… I can’t do better than this…

For the moment, you can try my profile.
Not terrible but not perfect i think.
Have to play a real game session to see if the issues are too much bothering or not.

The Z3D will be totally fine i think if you use a mod to disable the dynamic resolution.
    G3D is up to you…

These are just temporary profile, because i’m sure Ralf will be able to release a perfect one.

Profile used for the G3D is “Star Wars : Jedi Fallen Order”

I would like to add after playng for 2 hours, that the Godfall profile seems like a fine Z3D profile, except during RTC where it can get a little messy.

If you switch from NMM to Vortex you can use Vortex to disable and reenable all Vortex managed mods at once. You’ll have to remove Reshade unfortunately as well (that’s almost certainly where your d3d11.dll comes from – just delete that one file to completely disable Reshade. Keep a compressed copy in the same folder if you want to be able to easily enable and disable Reshade.)

I had pretty good luck with FO4 and Vortex overall, but the engine is VERY sensitive to resolution unfortunately, and performance falls off a cliff even with a very good GPU as resolutions approach 4K. That, combined with FO4’s awful AA techniques, makes it so, so hard to get it looking really sharp on an HMD. If you’re OK with soft-focus or blurry you’ll be fine.

Launch directly from FS4E, not from your mod-manager. Most mod managers properly install mods so you do not actually have to launch them from the mod-manager (there are exceptions, but Vortex isn’t one of them.)

Seems OpenXR is now installed by default on WMR, oddly enough after reinstalling everything (twice) the OpenXR demo no longer works and it just falls back to the WMR Portal while vorpX keeps giving the “severe error” message.

If i make SteamVR handle the OpenXR API the WMR Portal does gives me a warning and a button to “Fix it” appears but even after doing it, no luck; guess i’ll try updating Windows tho i already have a higher version than the recommended according to the OpenXR documentation…

    I’m getting the following error:

    “OpenXR session init failed

This is a severe error. Make sure that OpenXR is working correctly on your pc or switch to a different vr api in the vorpx config app.”

Games load “as normal” with the vorpX logo but i get no output to the HMD, used to work all right but i started to get some errors so i falled back to the SteamVR api, then reinstalled OpenXR and this happened.

OpenXR seems to be working correctly, i can load the demo to test it works, it just won’t work with vorpX.

Hi, got myself “SpongeBob Rehydrated” on the last sale.
The game is based on unreal4 and after some trying I found a working G3d profile.
After a shader cleanup the game looks nice in a 5.0 depth 3d scenery.
But then came the downfall, everytime you open a door (or the video after the title screen) a animation or pic starts loading and force Spongebob to crash.
You can avoid the crash by switching to z3d or 3d off.
I upload the profile marked as z3d since it also shows 3d but more decent and is playable therefore, maybe somebody else finds a solution for the G3d problem.
