In reply to: Fallout 4 vs Fallout 4 VR
willkiel66ParticipantFallout 4 VR with Gingas VR mod and Wabbajack was extremely easy to install. It took time to set up but looked fantastic. You just follow the guide and video to the letter and it works. I played it a couple of year ago. You need the regular Fallout 4 and the DLCs to get it to work. I think there has been a few recent upgrades to the mods and added into wabbajack so it should be even better.
I find standing much more immersive, though I loved games like bioshock series and metro series using Vorpx and an Xbox controller sitting downs so I can imagine using Fallout 4 and Vorpx will be pretty neat as well, especially with graphics mods.Oct 7, 2023 at 11:45am #218030In reply to: Fallout 4 vs Fallout 4 VR
markus3776ParticipantI spent the last few days tweaking Fallout 4 VR to get the best possible visual result in my Pimax 8KX. However, despite HD texture mods, and fRenderTargetSizeMultiplier = 1.5 and Adaptive sharpening mod, the image always remained a bit blurry and pixelated. After a few hours I tried flat Fallout 4 with vorpx. Resolution set to phneomenal and baaam. The clarity and sharpness compared to the VR version is stunning.
If you prefer a clear image in front of motion controller, you should use vorpx.Sep 22, 2023 at 1:17pm #217774In reply to: Starfield Hype Train – CHOO CHOO!
RalfKeymasterI think the Game Settings sub forum is the best place for posts like that. Just create a new one when the profile is ready. Won’t take long anymore.
BTW:
Personally I really like the game, at least the bits I saw so far. Judging from the player count on Steam Starfield isn’t quite the success that everyone hoped it would be though. Way less max players than Fallout 4 when it came out 2015. Only about a third of what super hits like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring recently had on launch. Heck, even Hogwart’s Legacy fared a lot better earlier this year, who would have predicted that…
Even considering a fair amount of extra players via Gamepass that doesn’t look too great for a huge Bethesda RPG in 2023. Still a title that deserves some extra attention, of course.
On the upside: at least that way they won’t get funny ideas about a Starfield 2 before returning to Elder Scrolls. :)

RalphParticipantThis is a very important list ! If you can extend it in a thread of a upcoming official vorpx profile it will be a very important contribution. If we have some kind of compatibility list, many problems that are not related to vorpx can be solved or discussed for example on the nexus mods forum and not here in the vorpx board.
Ralf should have his hands free for new official profiles for CP77 Mod, Assassins Creed Mirage, Lords of Fallen and last but not least Alan Wake 2 !

romandesignParticipantOk thx guys ! So anxious to play it in VR but I dont want to screw up too much in the files so I guess I’ll be patient and keep it pancake in the meantime.
The truth is that to make the game playable and good, you have to “scew up the files”. You gotta use mods and they all modify the same files, so VorpX doesn’t add anything unique there, except that you can’t use any Reshade-based mods. So unless you don’t want to use mods for some reason, you could already be playing in VR…
Here are the mods that I use and they work fine with VorpX:
– You absolutely have to get StarUI Inventory, this is what the inventory should have been.
– Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) – doesn’t do anything but required by some other mods
– Neutral LUTs – No Color Filters, really improves the graphics, default is greenish and muddy
– Enhanced Player Healthbar – the edges are not very sharp in Reverb G2 so this helps me to notice when health falls to low
– BetterHUD, prevents messages from blocking the center of the view.
– EXE – Effect Textures Enhanced – nice visual enhancements to weapon fire, impacts and blood.
– The Eyes of Beauty – Starfield Edition, because why not?
– Less Spongy Enemies, the default enemies are ridiculously spongy. You can spend 2 mags until you kill someone. Very unrealistic. This makes it better, without making the game too easy or stopping enemies from matching your level.
– Better Visible Magazines, just puts green border around magazines, which are too easy to miss in VR.Sep 20, 2023 at 6:31am #217742In reply to: Titanfall 2 Revival!
RalfKeymasterGreat video, I didn’t even know that Titanfall 2 had some kind of revival.
Can’t recommend this one enough. Great FullVR experience and just the right age to run well in VR without the need for an Uber-PC while still looking extremely good.
Aside from everything required to make the game run out of the box the profile also comes with two noteworthy advanced DirectVR features that weren’t mentioned specifically in the video:
- Automatic weapon hide to deal with the ‘face gun’ you often get when bringing first person games to VR: no running around with a weapon attached to your nose all the time. You might not even have known that you want something like that, but it makes a world of a difference when playing a game.
- Preconfigured motion controller gestures for aiming down sights etc. (requires the vorpX beta currently). I’m still surprised myself how close to native VR games like this can feel with just a few well chosen gestures, even seated.

ParadiseDecayParticipantSo Titanfall 2 has a Revival and I tried the game again last night with VorpX for the first time in over a year.
It ran perfect, was smooth as silk and I thought it was just as good as the NEW portal 2 VR mod that was recently released.
I had a blast again, well done Ralf!

BoblekoboldParticipantRedfall works well with VorpX and it’s really easy to configure.
The important thing is to set a 4:3 resolution with .ini files (it seems to be the only way). With virtual monitor it’s not a problem, whatever screen you have.
There is a FOV slider in game (up to 120).
I used an unreal engine 4 unofficial profile.

romandesignParticipantYou must download flawless widescreen . This program allow you that set any fov. Viewmodel , ship , world
Looks like it does exactly the same as the mod I mentioned does. But I suspect that the mod also resets it after a dialog etc. Anyway, why use extra software when there’s a mod?
I downloaded the game a week ago but haven’t opened it yet, waiting on full vr
I’m also eagerly waiting for an official mod, but you can try my profile, based on Alpha v2 – it’s pretty playable. Only disable the gamepad override, I think it works better that way for the ships. Also, if you are using joystick like I am, program the emulator for cross-controls: so joystick controls proper roll and pitch – they are on separate thumbstick on the gamepad, and pitch should be reversed (in-game menu option or inside emulator). And throttle and yaw should be programmed on proper axes too. That way ship combat is much better than when joystick emulates gamepad normally.
Official profile might have lower latency, and other nice-to-haves, but it’s quite well and playable as it is, full VR with gestures, so the beginning is slow and long anyway, and it’s really not bad. BTW not sure what people were complaining about – slow beginning, boring game and all. It’s basically exactly like Fallout/Skyrim in space with very nice graphics and cool hard sci-fi aesthetics. It plays exactly like that. All the clunkyness is the same as with the older Bethesda games. But nobody does a better job in this gameplay style, which is my favored. I only wish there would be native VR support, atmospheric flight, manual landings and docking and generally more believable space simulator dynamics. And of course less loading screens – game could check if there is enough RAM/VRAM available and preload the next zone in the background…

RalfKeymasterYou need the beta. There is a brief introduction video in the beta post, including an explanation how to bind gestures to actions yourself. Incidentally using Titanfall 2 as a showcase.

CrazyDolphinParticipantRalf,
Thank you for the response. I’ve gotten the VorpX icon back in my ‘Hidden Icons’ tray and can do all of the regular things with it. What seems to have solved it was restarting the computer after the update (after shutting it off last night and restarting it this morning), so all looks good right now.
I’ve been on the Flatscreen to VR Mod Discord Channel, and saw a posting that the Titanfall 2 profile has been updated and looks great, so I’m going to give that a shot.

RalphParticipantYes, you are right. That’s on my to do list, i have to figure out to change the font of the UI. In Skyrim and Fallout was it possible to change that.
If you find it on google, and fix it for your own please share it with us here !

markbradley1982ParticipantYou’ll be happy, because most of the official profiles released for other games in the past will match all your questions. Have patience and wait for support of the Developer of Vorpx, he is called Ralf, he will post the details of his official profile here i that forum. You worry too much, Vorpx is the right thing for you, you will have fun with Vorpx and Starfield !
Yeah a guy who built a motion cockpit definitely is someone would most likely enjoy VorpX.
I’ve played/play Fallout New Vegas, Rocket League, Cyberpunk 2077 (before the dedicated VR mod) and Final Fantasy 7 Remake completely in VR using VorpX. It’s a great tool for hobbyists and stereo-heads.
Unfortunately I haven’t played Starfield yet, and it sounds like my PC is going to need an upgrade for it.

SpookyhamsterParticipantBethesda games are entirely different for me to what normies experience.
I wont play the game for a while until there are enough mods, and hopefully vorpx will work fine with it until someone makes a real vr mod.
Though I agree flat vanilla bethesda games are boring, I can’t imagine playing vanilla skyrim or fallout 4, this will be no different for me.
But once properly modded it will be one of the best games ever made.
