RalfKeymasterThe name field in the image you sent is not correct.
Please make sure to enter the data in the name field correctly. It has to look exactly like in the key e-mail, your name followed by the e-mail address in parantheses.
Use copy and paste to avoid typos. The key e-mail has an example image attached that illustrates how it’s supposed to look.

RalfKeymasterExit crashes are avoided as much as possible, but can happen especially with some older games. That’s the nature of the beast. A game might exit before the Oculus/OpenVR runtime has a chance to unload for example, which may cause problems in some cases.
The warning is perfectly normal, always happens on submitting the first frame with OpenVR, nothing to worry about. Warnings in the log aren’t errors, a warning usually is just meant to highlight certain messages.
In general please don’t report problems with unsupported games as vorpX issues here unless you verified them with a supported title. Thanks. Unsupported games may or may not work or show all kinds of unusual/unintended behavior.

RJK_ParticipantLEGO City Undercover is an openworld game (and relatively newer), TT Games probably choosed a different game engine for it. – Was worth a try.. May be you could try an openworld game profile like Farcry 1/2/3 or may be RISEN 1/2/3, Gothic 3, Oblivion.
Note: Some of the cloud profiles are not 3D even the “Geometry” setting is shown in the ingame settings. Thats why i mark my Geometry profiles always with (G3D) in order to avoid confusion.

dellrifter22ParticipantWell shoot…
I’ve tried searching a bit more around, looks like a few people have had similar troubles on this forum, but no solutions were posted. One even described the poor color depth issue. Search “spinning” among this forum if you haven’t already. Just maybe you could revive a thread or contact one of them to see if they ever got it working.
If you’re not already exhausted, some additional things that may or may not be worth checking:
– Windows 10 is up to date (and directX)
– No active anti virus scanners. (in Windows Defender turn off real-time protectoin)
– Nvidia drivers clean reinstall. Without Geforce Experience, or 3D vision related drivers. (I never installed it to avoid conflicts with automated game settings)
– Opt out of SteamVR beta (not using SteamVR beta)
– disable steam in-game overlay
– SteamVR developer settings: Allow asynch reprojectioin and Always-on reprojection, both on.
– Not running Oculus process if installed. (I also have a rift so I stop the OVRService when using pimax steamvr, just in case)
– vorpX is installed to C drive. Installed with admin rights.
– Try launching vorpX manually with and without admin rights. Try launching games with and without admin rights.
– vorpX is in steamVR mode and hit apply for every change made in config app.
– spinning in fullVR mode as well as cinema mode?
– close piplay after booting steamvr. Or try launching game with both off, allowing vorpX to autostart steamVR. (this sometimes helps my Fallout4 launch issue)
– Pimax is not connected/on during system boot/reboot, only after. (can sometimes confuse the system or device)
– Pimax does not show in Device Manager under Display/Monitor adapters. (If shows as Rift DK2, uninstall it’s device/drivers)
– neither CPU or GPU severely overclocked or thread locked.
– test hdmi port with alternate device (likely not necessary since other vr apps display color correctly)and I’ll stop now haha. Again, these may not solve anything, just thinking out loud. Bet it’s something simple though, fingers crossed.

RalfKeymasterLichdom is not supported, so it’s perfectly normal that you don’t get 3D. Judging from what I found on the internet it seems to be based on CryEngine 3, so making a custom profile based on the Crysis 3 or the Kingdom Come Delieverance profile is worth a shot. There is no guarantee though that this will work.
If it works, you will get basic stereo 3D. FOV adjustment for FullVR mode would have to be done manually though.
Same for Vermintide 2. That one will be looked into before the next update though, I just can’t promise anything yet.
Some general info: vorpX doesn’t automatically provide stereo 3D for every game you throw at it. For stereo 3D and Direct VR functionality game specific profiles are required. Normally you should see a message in the headset whenever you open an unsupported game to avoid any potential confusion in this regard.
To check beforehand whether there is a profile for a game you want to try you can use the “Local Profiles” list in the config app or the supported games list.
Team Fortress 2 (and other Source engine games): there might be an issue with a recent SteamVR version causing this. I can’t say anything more specific yet, but the issue will be looked into before the next update.
Apr 22, 2018 at 9:49pm #172547In reply to: Skyrim or Skyrim SE + Skyrim VR Question
DemosthenesParticipantThe orginal Skyrim will work better with Vorpx. SKSE works fine with it. I made a comparison of Skyrim VR and Skyrim Vorpx in another thread. There are no mods to avoid but camera mods might cause you frustration if you are not aware of what they are doing. I mentioned in another thread UI mods that I use. The UI in Skyrim VR is the same as in the original game. SkyUI for SKSE is far better.
You can’t use your controllers as swords etc. Vorpx does not track controllers as weapons – if Vorpx could do that for every game the developer could retire to a solid gold house in the countryside. But this could be considered an advantage considering how poor sword combat feels in Skyrim VR. You can use/see them in options. Use playerfov setting to reduce hand/arm size.

in forum General vorpX Discussion
Viscus1197ParticipantTitle. Going to try to play skyrim in VR again – what is better to use – Skyrim or Skyrim SE and why?
Do mods play well with Vorpx Skyrim? Are there any mods to avoid / Must have mods?
Does SKSE work with Vorpx Skyrim?
How does the Skyrim VR release feel in comparison into vorpx? I have seen that it looks better in terms of scale. I really just want the ability to use my controllers as swords, etc. The UI in Skyrim VR is also magnitudes better.
Thanks.

GrumdarkParticipantThis is one of the great reasons among others, for which some users have requested from a couple of years ago the functionality in the Vorpx menu for On / OFF reticles, change of form for these, color and position.
This way, you do not have to be always turning off and turning on 3D, or playing z buffer in order to avoid this …
Mar 31, 2018 at 7:45pm #172116In reply to: ADS (aim down sights) is off in Far Cry 4
rtoastParticipantOkay thanks a lot I’ll mess around with it some more and see if remaping the 3d toggle to left trigger helps.
Im curious though what a game like far cry does thats different from say, a game like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series where it also has a 3d gun model and aiming down sights but for some reason still manages to avoid this issue.
I suppose this was kind of explained already in the previous post but its sort of hard to wrap your head around it

in forum Technical Support
kaossinoParticipantHi, I have always had this problem when I use vorpX and decided to ask for information.
When I use the Oculus Rift with vorpX in the cinema or immersive mode, after a while the screen moves to the left and I have to center it again. After a few minutes I have to center it again and so on.For example this happens to me with Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Witcher 3, and others
Does anyone know how to avoid it?
Mar 14, 2018 at 10:40am #171761In reply to: Dragon Age: Origins not starting
RalfKeymasterThat’s some pretty messed up issue with Steam first starting the game, then the game starting EA Origin and ending itself and afterwards Origin launching the game again. Not much that can be done. Similar Steam/Origin issues occur with other EA games (e.g. Mass Effect 2).
Get the Origin edition at a sale, it works just fine. Steam edition needs to be uninstalled or the start process will get even more convoluted.
Alternatively get the GOG version which comes without DRM and avoids all such problems altogether.
For Ubisoft/EA games it’s generally best to buy them directly in their respective storefronts to avoid any potential issues due to the double-DRM.
Mar 8, 2018 at 10:31am #171588In reply to: vorpX 18.1.5 Available Now
dellrifter22ParticipantSince Christmas update I’ve been enjoying the performance boost and enhancements to immersive cinema modes. The slight increase to range have been effective for my Pimax.
And it’s been a lot of fun revisiting Farcry 2. Thanks.
If there’s one thing that bothers me about the update, it’s the loss of standard Alt key functionality in games.
I use LAlt abundantly while gaming and have since resorted to simple AutoHotkey scripts as a workaround. But a few games are hard-coded and will not allow me to remap keys, making it difficult to play correctly.
I understand LAlt is now reserved for vorpX functionality with good intention to avoid conflict/confusion, but in cases like mine it’s become more of a hindrance. And since a rollback request would sound unappreciative, I wonder if adding a “toggle Alt lock” option among expert settings would be a useful consideration.
Otherwise, I like the direction things are headed and am always excited to see what improvements are in store. Thank you.
Oh, and one thing I’ve wondered for a while… Is there a simple way that you know of to backup custom resolutions in Windows? The larger Creators Updates tend to wipe them clean unexpectedly :/
Feb 24, 2018 at 3:41pm #171199In reply to: vorpX service
RalfKeymasterThe only thing it does while the Oculus software is not running is periodically checking whether the Oculus software runs. The service is required to avoid the potential issues mentioned above with Oculus 2.0 and will get more functionality in the future.
It’s not using the Oculus runtime, that was probably an odd conicidence.
Feb 10, 2018 at 1:17pm #170693In reply to: dishonored 2 FoV reset every time i read a book !
RalfKeymasterSounds like the game changes the FOV memory address when reading books. I’ll take a look at it, but probably not much can be done to avoid a rescan when that happens. Might make sense to diable Direct VR caching, then you can simply hit ALT-L for a re-scan.
