I heard Guilty Gear Strive use Unreal Engine 4, so i was wondering if anybody tryed it with VorpX ?

I’m on the fence of buyng this game, i was a huge fighting game fan, especialy the SNK games, and when i discovered Gealty Gear more than 20 years ago, it became my holly graal; but now at 40yo, i just can’t get into it as before.
But if i could play the game with 3D, i could totaly enjoy a new vib out of this Gealty Gear univers.

first, you need to know what engine the game uses.
second, you need to find a game in the profile list (or sometimes cloud profile list) which uses the same profile, for example unreal engine 4.
third, you need to make a copy of that profile and then attach the exe of your game to that profile.

next, try to start the game, maybe it will hook and maybe 3D will work (Z3D or/and g3D), but maybe it wont, if that’s the case, you can try another game profile using the same engine.

sometimes for 3D to work, you need to launch the game in windowed mode or fullscreen mode, and sometimes you even have to turn off antialiasing or other things like dlss or other stuff.

sometimes it just wont work and you’ll have to ask for a profile in the game wish list thread, sometimes it will, you wont know if you dont try.

fun fact, i remember before shadow of the tomb raider got an official profile, i had it running in Z3D using conan exile profile which runs on a total different game engine, that’s the magic of vorpx for you, but most of the time games with different engines wont hook if you try, ie creating a profile using a unity engine game for a game running on an unreal engine 4 engine will probably not hook.

also dont forget vorpx right now doesnt support vulkan, and dx12 is Z3D only atm.

    Unbox (G3D/Z3D)

Cute Unreal 4 Jump n Run with self delivering parcels.
Most Important: The profile requires a shortcut to the BoxJump-Win64-Shipping.exe with -nohmd at the end. (Game runs without steam client)

    – Required: Shortcut to BoxJump-Win64-Shipping.exe with parameter -nohmd
    – Great S3D in alle modes
    – Full VR with Headtracking
    – Cinema on Default
    – Profile available at the cloud

The game is currently 89% OFF Here

    Hey Ralf,
Just throwing in my opinion on this, as I’ve seen a few other people request a similar thing.
Obviously, VorpX blows away any other product out there, however there is one aspect that I’ve found in SuperDepth3D which I think would be awesome in VorpX.
I’ve noticed that it lets me set certain things like eye separation, and a few other 3D-popping options which give certain games in cinema modes with Z3D that extra little bit of “pop”, making them seem more “3D”.
I’ve tried side by side comparisons with AC Valhalla, and its a nice feature to have.
I know VorpX is far more then just Cinema mode with Z3D, but for games played in this mode it would be a super nice to have. I know too, that it can make things unrealistic, which isn’t what you want for those “Full VR” modes. But if you could incorporate some additional options into advanced mode for us 3D junkies that would be cool. …Or not… I mean its fine the way it is, but just thought I’d give my 2 cents on it for future features.
    Cheers!

Mirror’s Edge is really impressive. Also played Bioshock (non-remaster) and it’s great. Working on getting Cyberpunk 2077 to look it’s best.

I’m using an MClassic, which offers a 4:3 aspect ratio option so I’m going to try and get CPunk looking as crispy as possible. I added all of Ralf’s custom resolutions to my 2080 Ti and will be playing around with it more later.

I have Alien Isolation using the MotherVR mod running incredibly and now that I added the MClassic it’s a whole new level.

Love VorpX, but really curious how “best resolution” is selected?? For example, I only played with it briefly but I couldn’t get the original Unreal to zoom out further like in Mirror’s Edge. TBH, have only spent about 2-3 hours with it thus far..

Improved hooking timing/safety: fixes some DX12 games not hooking anymore since Microsoft split the d3d12.dll into two separate DLLs a few weeks ago. Also improves hooking reliability with some games that initialize DirectX very early in their launch process.

Could this be also an issue in DX11 games like Remnant from the Ashes?
It is an unreal4 game that was working perfect in G3D and it simply stopped working, I can still find G3D profiles in the cloud that do not work anymore and I was also playing it in G3D, so …. not sure what happenned, is a similar bug?

Hi, really new game , you could be the first to create one profile. First find out wether the game is running in dx 11 or 12 and try to find the engine name via google.
If the developer uses some mainstream 3dengine (unreal, unity ect.) you can try to create a profile from a game using the same engine. If you are not able to find some info you ca still try some wild shots with other game profiles. If you got it running 3d but you have some glitches then you have to search for the shadertool here in the forum. good luck !

The performance drop in G3D mode significantly depends on the game, or better said on the game engine used.

In example Farming Simulator 2019 (Giants engine), G3D is a total performance killer. I can run it with Z3D on my rig maxed out graphics settings and 1680p resoultion stable with 60fps. In G3D lowest possible settings and 768p resolution it looks like a mess and barely exceeds 10fps.

On some other games which run on unreal engine performance drops only about 30% in G3D without the need to reduce graphics or resolution absolutely ok.

Most (almost all) games can become CPU limited when their main render thread utilizes an entire core of your CPU. Games don’t scale endlessly with the amount of CPU cores, CPU wise the maximum performance usually hinges on a main thread. Since Geometry 3D more or less doubles the workload on the main render thread, it’s fairly easy to run into a CPU limited scenario where it doesn’t matter anymore how fast the GPU is.

One other thing: Unreal Engine games may be capped at max. 62 FPS fer default. That’s true for most UE3 engine games at least. UE4 games like Abzu usually aren’t, but it still makes sense to check whether an Unreal Engine game can reach more than 62fps at all.

Well, is not unrealistic… as I said RE7 works enough to be playable. I was hoping other games to work in a similar performance.

So basically 60fps 720p, could be considered as normal for some games. Ok.

like I Said, G3D doubles the workload compared to playing a game on your monitor since everything has to drawn twice (once for each eye). That alone cuts the framerate in half, depending on the game engine sometimes even more. On top of that there is a small additional overhead for rendering to the headset.

Expecting to run recent AAA games with G3D at 90fps is just unrealistic, regardless of the PC you have. You have to decide whether you want G3D at the price of roughly 50% of your FPS compared to playing in 2D, or less realistic but much faster Z3D.

Shoot for 45fps with G3D in newer and thus demanding games. G3D and 90fps are only realistic for older games.

Played at 1980 x 1200 with vsync and AA off, didn’t play with settings too much
Z-Normal set to 2 seems to work well.

Noticed a thread on reddit requesting it so tested it out and it worked.

EDIT: should prob mention I’m using the cinema mode with ambient background, I don’t use other modes in vorpx personally

Hi – new here – so sorry if this a typical clueless post. I’ve tried to get the game Pacify working. It’s a Steam game, so all the usual problems with that I suspect. Engine is supposed to be Unreal 4, so I tried a few existing Vorpx profiles for games that use the engine. No luck – I never get the ‘Vorpx is hooking to…’ dialog.

I AM able to use Portal 2 just fine, so at least I know that Vorpx works on my machine (and with my HMD – I’m using a Reverb G2).

    Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

to the op, you wont have graphics quality just like you have on regular screen, the purpose of Vorpx is IMMERSION.

even on my old hardware gtx 1080, 5820k and htc vive, i had a lot of fun using vorpx, obviously, some fullVR demanding games had low performance in G3D example is dishonor 1 but Vorpx motion smoothing works quiet well, so i had a blast.

now i upgraded to valve index and more recent hardware and i’m stunned by the graphics quality while using vorpx, atm i’m playing borderlands 3 and it looks real good and i’m using 1920*1440 res and ultra settings in fullVr with fov 125 (with unreal engine unlocker which i highly recommand for the UE4 supported games).

the most important thing for vorpx is how powerful your computer is, the better it is the better your vorpx experience will be.

and vorpx is light years ahead of any others 3D software including that reshade 3Ddepth, because of headtracking, directVR, full VR, G3D, Z3D, flexibility of the software, the ability to create custom users profiles for new games (when it works) in a easy way, highly tweakable settings for all modes (fullVR, cinematic mode, immersive mod).
