    The Dig – Steam version (DGVoodoo2 v 2.6) – 2D

    I usually dont post 2D games here, but this one (steam version only) works just fine with DGVoodoo2 and VorpX out of the box. 320x200px , but looking surprisingly good in cinema modes. Former DOS game from 1995, probably one of the first games with full speech output.

    DGVoodoo2 v 2.6 required
    – drop D3Dimm.dll and DDraw.dll and the config files into the game folder
    – Press ALT+enter for full screen
    – 2D profile available at the cloud

    I was able to solve the boxed in cursor by setting my monitor to the same resolution as the game first in Windows Display Settings. I still need to run the game in Windowed Boarderless to prevent squishing, but things look and work as intended now.

    I’ve found 10:9 ratio 3200×2880 to be the perfect size to fill FullVR (zoom 0.90) in my HP Reverb without waste. It looks nearly HD monitor sharp while maintaining above 35fps with a mix of high and Ultra settings. It’s coming together nicely and making my investment toward 2080ti/Reverb worth it.

    I know there are a few other Reverbers in here, so I’ve posted my setup here and on the cloud for anyone to try. Soon I’ll be ready to start playing for real, just gotta get it best it can be first 😎.

    @ nieda : Did you get it to work? Are you able to load the game without vorpX? What are your system specs. Hopefully it’s not running out of ram or something.

    @ testgrounds : The game doesn’t seem to have selectable aspect ratios, but you can create your own custom ones in Nvidia Control Panel and they will show up to choose from in game – if your TV supports them that is. If you want to play in a 4:3, you might try 1920×1440 for example. As mentioned above, try setting your TV to the same resolution or higher than the one you use in game, and it should solve your cursor problem.

    @ matteo : Seems like it. With modest settings at least:

    Fantastic worlds better than vorbX believes me I promise not too much if you follow the instructions exactly. The FOV fits and visually great, so you can play it without restrictions what did not go with vorbX. VorbX is not needed❗️You can really compare with native VR now, not just simple Z-buffer 3D.

    @Ralf you should with the LukeRoss00 Put together, he can do something. Honestly, the FOV does not really fit in over 90% of the games, so you’d better admit that instead of having it all beautiful. If the FOV would fit with vorbX instead of only zooming heavily then vorbX would be a great application, but as it is now almost all buyers except here in the forum talk badly about vorbX.

    Not only is this game ‘Not that good’, its f-ing terrible. I dunno how the devs could have screwed up a winning formula so bad. X1,2,3 and 4 are all decent… this one is just difficult for no reason in particular. IMO it feels similar to Wing Commander Privateer 2, but WWWAAAAAYY more difficult. It took me a couple hours of searching to find out that you need to contract out someone to move your goods and get a trade agent on a station… who the heck thought that would be a good idea?!?!

    I bought Elite Dangerous recently and I have to say, its 1000x better than Rebirth and I’m a huge X fan. In my twenties I clocked 100’s of hours into X and X2. I just wish they added some story or purpose to ED instead of just flying around making money. There is PVP so that’s cool but otherwise there isn’t much to do. I really enjoyed the story behind X even if it kind of fell apart in 3. Anyway Ralf, I really hope you can add VorpX to some other space trading games if possible. Star Control Origins or well anything else on steam?

    Sorry, buddy, bur I disagree. Out of all the X games, I really enjoyed the Rebirth and even more X4:F. Have hundreds of hours into both (300+ in XR and probably 700 in X4, most of them obviously station running in AFK making money).

    With X4, I have several restarts, modded and vanilla. There are issues, especially in Vanilla, but I overall like what they did. X4 is more superior technologically, improves on the other games. A lot of people love X3 the most. I can’t say otherwise, but the X4 was a good step forward. It just always takes them a long time to polish the games, release expansion, content, ships, etc. So when expansions are out hopefully by the end of this year 1st DLC should be out, I may give X4 another go, or wait until the last DLC. I started really playing XR 3 years after release and it was a completely different game.

    just wondering if there is a limit to processor or gpu usage, trying to optimize alice madness returns but ive noticed that its not even using all my gpu or my processor, got a rtx2080 ti and experiencing fps drop only at specific points in the game and in the same place to it even runs fine maxed out until these parts, if there was a way to allow vorpx to use more of my gpu it would probably be fine

    Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 (G3D/Z3D)

    This one suffers from a bit of big gun syndrome, but what matters is looking through the scope feels good and the world fov is great. Bullet cams scale is more correct in this one. Night vision is pretty sweet too.

    Make sure to run the game in DX9 mode, 16:9, with FOV of 91 by editing the following lines of system.cfg found in:
    steamapps\common\SniperGhostWarrior2… system.cfg

    r_Driver=DX9
    r_Fullscreen=1
    r_Width=2560
    r_Height=1440
    cl_fov=91
    r_drawnearfov=91
    r_MotionBlur=0

    This has been a fun trilogy project the last couple months, and I think they are ready to share. Much like these games get better upon each installment, their vorpX compatibility does also. Still, I enjoyed playing them all and believe they each have good VR experiences to offer. You can find them quite cheap on sale these days also.

    Three new profiles now on the cloud. Enjoy.

    Sniper Ghost Warrior (G3D)

    Something about the jungle setting and ability to pick up assault rifles might make me prefer this one to SGW2. Native FOV was extremely low and remains a bit low still even after extreme FOV Enhancement. Still a good fullVR 3D experience if you can tolerate some culling near top and bottom and have the shadows disabled.

    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440) any other ratio can cause glitches

    *Don’t trust the red aim dot to be exact at long ranges, toggle Z3D hotkey for critical shots
    *Disable raindrop effect with vorpX Shadow Treatment if distracting

    Hmm, I thought we had another day with the beta. I did get some more time in before it ended though to make additional profile fixes. You can re-download the profile and hopefully be set for launch day.

    It cost an extra ~8fps, but G3D now has fewer lighting glitches and no more
    DOF blur. It runs heavy with lots of jaggies, but great for models and ironsights. If you’d rather have the fps and can tolerate some glitch, I can upload a lite version also.

    Z3D can look pretty nice here when you crank up the resolution and apply AA. I think most will choose this, but here’s my recommended setup for both using Rift CV1:

    Ghost Recon Breakpoint (Z3D/G3D)

    – use vorpX in Oculus mode for Rift (steamVR mode won’t launch correctly)
    – set UPlay launch argument in Breakpoint properties:

    /belaunch -be

    – set Extended FOV to max 100 in Video settings

    Low settings are recommended and still look good. You can keep textures High if you have the VRam. Mild Ambient Occlusion is also fine.

    Z3D FullVR
    – use a 1:1 resolution 2400×2400 in Fullscreen set to Auto aspect ratio.
    Keep resolution scaling at 100.
    – turn on Anti Aliasing, but do not use the additional Temporal Injection
    – set in game sharpening to full 100 and vorpX sharpening to full 2.00
    – Keep all vorpX HUD sliders to full 1.00 to avoid flickering

    G3D FullVR
    – use a 1:1 resolution 1280×1280 in Fullscreen set to Auto aspect ratio. (lower than 1280 doesn’t seem selectable in game)
    – turn off Anti Aliasing settings to avoid trees blur
    – reduce vorpX sharpening to 1.00
    – Adjust vorpX HUD depth to ~.90

    If 1:1 resolutions are not applying correctly, add lines to GRB.ini found in:
    C:\Users\(user)\Documents\My Games\Ghost Recon Breakpoint

    [Display Settings]
    KeepStandardAspect=1
    WindowMode=2
    DisplayWidth=2400
    DisplayHeight=2400

    Xbox controller override has been set so that headtracking should also work. You’ll need to remap the controller buttons to the corresponding keyboard buttons in the vorpX delete menu (bottom of controller page). I’m not sure there’s a way to invert Right stick though.

    Please remember to play in solo mode only and do not attempt to play coop or pvp to mitigate risk of being banned by BattleEye.

    Hopefully this all still works on launch code. Have fun.

    The best Experience in a 1:1 Resolution like 2500×2500 and large FOV is changing from FullVR with zoom 1.00 to Edge Peak with zoom 0.90 to look on the minmap and then switching back to FullVR.

    The half sized transparent “window” disappeared after setting Focal Offset to 0

    Using headtracking in FullVR makes it impossible to aim something with my gamepad. I would like to reconfig the gamepad layout in the profile completely, but i don’t know how it works.

    Is there a tool, to create the profiles and config them ? Or do you use the ingame menu only in vorpx ? i don’t need a tutorial, i will do it alone, but there is only a short documentation of the G3D config option in the vorpx ingame menu online and nothing else. How do you config your Z3D profiles ?

    I’m an early retirees and i have more time than I like. I have 15 years of experience with Ubuntu and i’m used to self-taught in software on the basis of documentation. I would like to learn how to create profiles for vorpx. My english ist still not so good, but google helps me with these things ;-)

    Sniper Elite V2 (G3D)

    I’ve re-imagined this old cinema profile for a more FullVR experience. Having larger world scale and the scope right up to your eyes now makes it more immersive. I’ve also fixed some 3D effects so bullet cam destruction and slow-mo explosions look better.

    If you rely on HUD info, cinema mode will be the better option though. For a better cinema experience, reduce vorpX FOV Enhancement and Height Modifier both to zero. You can also enable shadows and effects that were disabled for FullVR (toggle vorpX Shadow Treatment).

    – exclude SniperV2Launcher.exe in vorpX config (don’t hook the Launcher)
    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440)

    *For Cinema mode, reduce vorpX FOV Enhancement and Height Modifier to zero
    *vorpX Shadow Treatment optional for Cinema mode
    *Increase bullet cam occurrence in game settings
    *Close game with Alt+F4 (exit from menu may hard-lock Steam)

    ————————————-

    Sniper Elite 3 (G3D)

    This one is also primed for FullVR in similar fashion, looking even better. Because of strange character model leg cropping, I had to raise the vorpX camera a significant amount. It looks good this way, but you’ll need to factor in about 10 inches above your intended target to compensate. So aim your crosshairs a tad high with all weapons.

    As with V2, you can also use cinema mode for better HUD awareness and enable Shadow Treatment effects. Don’t forget to reduce FOV Enhancement and Height Modifier to zero.

    – exclude Sniper3Launcher.exe in vorpX config app (don’t hook the Launcher)
    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440)

    *For Cinema mode, reduce vorpX FOV Enhancement and Height Modifier to zero
    *vorpX Shadow Treatment optional for Cinema mode
    *Increase bullet cam occurrence in game settings

    Enjoy the bone-shattering 3D. Looking forward to attempt SE4 next time it goes on sale.

    Call of Juarez: The Cartel (G3D)

    Not sure why all the hate for this rendition of Juarez. I had a good time. It’s hard to find these days (now delisted from steam storefront), but you can still buy steam keys from newegg/g2a for pretty cheap. It took a lot of shader tweaking for G3D, but is now another fun action shooter for vorpX.

    – FOV setup as directed by PCGamingWiki:

    Edit default_levels.xml
    Go to <path-to-game>\MD
    Open Data0.pak with 7-Zip or similar.
    In it go to Skills and extract a file default_levels.xml
    Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Call of Juarez – The Cartel\out
    In this folder create a folder Data.
    In folder Data that you’ve just created, create another folder, named Skills.
    Now move default_levels.xml that you’ve extracted to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Call of Juarez – The Cartel\out\Data\Skills
    Open default_levels.xml in Notepad.
    Change <prop n=”CameraDefaultFOV” v=”50.0″/> to v=”80.0″ .

    a value of v=”80.0″ works best for this profile (any higher breaks recoil).

    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440)

    *Adjust vorpX height modifier for preferred aiming
    *FullVR best for Rift, Cinema mode best for Pimax8K
    *Z3D also works

    Profile now on the cloud. Hopefully somebody enjoys it :) .

    Homefront: The Revolution (G3D)

    Feels like an urban Far Cry with vibes of Deus Ex – liberating outposts with a bit of exploratory platforming. World design is nice and the gunplay feels good.

    While there are already Z3D cloud profiles, we now have a working G3D profile for Homefront 2. It still has some minor lighting glitches to sort, but all world objects are 3D as expected. I had to disable fog to prevent artifacts, and you may notice some decal/light-source swim due to mild FOV Enhancement. Ignoring that, things can look pretty impressive at times in this CryEngine based title. Nighttime in the rain amongst the search drones is stunning.

    The full-body presence and animations do well for immersion. Default weapon model placement felt a bit high, so I’ve raised the vorpX camera to my preference. This changes aiming down sights, so adjust vorpX height modifier if it breaks your weapon of choice.

    – FOV setup open: C:\Users\(user)\Saved Games\homefront2… game.cfg
    edit lines to 80:

    cl_defaultnearfov = 80
    cl_fov = 80

    – 4:3 resolution recommended for Rift (1920×1440)
    – turn off TAA anti aliasing and motion blur
    – set all Shadow related graphics settings to Low

    *Reduce vorpX FOV Enhancement if light/decal swim to bothersome
    *Adjust vorpX height modifier for preferred aiming
    *Scaling down HUD can misalign some UI effects
    *Hide HUD elements in game settings
    *Zero key to holster weapon
