    If you can’t see the crosshair, try to experiment with the HUD scaling factor (image page of the vorpX ingame menu).

    Also make sure to enable MSAA in the game’s menu. That has a greater effect on image quality than raising the resolution.

    The game resolution isn’t mapped 1:1 to the headset’s screen resolution since the VR runtime warps the image to account for lens distortion. You can go as high as your PC allows performance wise, just make sure to use *exactly* 4:3 for all Source 2 engine games like indicated by the vorpX message to avoid issues with the DirectVR FOV override.

    If your PC can handle it, you could try 2880×2160 for example. For a game as old as Half-Life 2 that might work with a fast machine, but for newer games you will have to make compromises to maintain a decent framerate. Stereo rendering is computationally expensive.

    Disciples 3: Reincarnation (G3D)

    This game has phenomenal art direction which oozes a great atmosphere. On a whim I decided to see if I could get this working in VR and to my surprise and delight, this game works near dam perfect in G3D Immersive mode. Thanks to VorpX’s shader authoring tool, I was able to fix the HUD along with the shader for the glowing buttons.

    Recommendations:

    – Turn off health bars from combat menu, cards show health anyway
    – Turn off hex grid outlines from combat menu
    – Crank up resolution to the highest you can, for me 3840×2160 16:9 works great

    You can leave both these enabled and work fine. The health bar is just a little out of depth, but not bad. There is also a translucent option for this.

    You can also adjust the HUD within VorpX and anything else if so desired. I personally love this game for the art direction and some of the visuals really give a sense of scale and for a strategy game in VR, this is a winner.

    Which HMD do you have?

    I tested just now in my rift (even using the alternate dll you linked) and things are working with updated profile. Please be aware that Ralf has since asked us to no longer discuss or post links regarding bypasses and trainers, sorry.

    If you haven’t already, please try the (Rift) labeled profile I have uploaded from Dec2018. The original profile from this post was based on GTA5, but game updates caused problems with Z3D. I later found that an updated Battlefront 2 profile handled Z3D much better. Even if you are not using rift HMD, please give the rift profile a try. You can adjust it as needed to suit any HMD.

    If you plan to play in fullVR mode, I recommend a square resolution (2400×2400) for best camera FOV results. Create the custom res with your Nvidia Control Panel first, then select it from the fullscreen resolutions in game. If it gives you trouble choosing custom resolutions in game (as it recently sometimes does), you can manually set it in GRW.ini.

    Documents\My Games\Ghost Recon Wildlands\GRW.ini

    [Display Settings]
    KeepStandardAspect=1
    WindowMode=2
    DisplayWidth=2400
    DisplayHeight=2400

    *add KeepStandardAspect line if it does not already exist

    Slide Extended FOV to max in game.

    Hopefully the new profile fixes your problem, but if it doesn’t, let me know and I’ll take a closer look at all my game settings and post them exactly.

    Edit: I’m using Temporal AA (some games having AA on vs off is important), and leave resolution scaling at 1.00 (scaling almost always breaks Z3D in games for me).

    Alpha Protocol – (G3D)

    Works real well in immersive mode. Disable dynamic shadows in game menu since shadows do not render correctly. My other in game menu settings:

    – Motion blur off, why developers use this beyond me, terrible effect
    – Depth of field off , another crappy effect
    – Distortion off
    – Vsync off

    I am using a resolution of 3840×2880 4:3 and performs great. Profile uploaded to the cloud and simply based on the unreal 3 game engine. I am using a strong G3D setting with a wide FOV. Edgepeek G3D is left on since most screens look good in this way. I prefer using the VorpX G3D hot key to turn off the G3D only a few screens. The head tracking sensitivity is set to 0 so I can turn my head independently from the mouse or character movement. Great for this type of game. Either way, you can change your VorpX settings as you see fit. Fun game in G3D, reminds me a bit of the Splinter Cell series.

    Cheers,

    New Profile + Guide for SWAT 4: Gold Edition in G3D + Full VR or Immersive/Cinema Mode (your preference)

    After several hours of tinkering, I finally managed to get this beauty of a tactical game working with VorpX with a G3D profile. To get this working, I’ve included the following mini guide.

    1.) Have a fresh install of the game. I already had the following graphical mod installed and based on what I understand, this should not be a requirement. But if interested, here is the link.

    Graphical Enhancement Mod

    2.) The following mod (Swat 4 Elite) is not a must but very strongly recommended for some useful gameplay and VR reasons

    – FOV Slider
    – Ironsights which can be used in conjuction with the one eye feature in VorpX
    – For disabling Crosshair (useless in VR for this game anyway)
    – Integrate the Stetchkov Syndicate DLC
    – A bunch of other things, you can read up on it

    Downloads

    SWAT 4 Elite Mod – Main Files

    SWAT 4 Elite Mod – Patch Files

    One important thing to note, this mod simply has a folder -> SEF and gets copied into the main SWAT IV directory. Combine the main mod file and patch (overwrite any files over main) before you copy the SEF folder to the main game directory. Nothing should be overwritten in your game install and don’t do this! If you overwrite anything there, you will have to re-install the main game. This is a very simple install and does not overwrite anything from your main install.

    3.) Once the mod is installed, run the game first time without VorpX and make the following game settings.You must launch the game using LaunchSEF.bat which can be found

    Your Game Main Folder\SEF\LaunchSEF.bat

    – Set your resolution (I am using a custom resolution 3200 x 2400 which has turn out to be a nice balance for graphic fidelity, text legibility and performance. See notes later in guide about other custom resolutions. Most defaults are already set for 16:9 or widescreen.
    – Must disable Glow Detail
    – Must disable Bump Map Detail
    – Must Hide Crosshair – Check
    – Max out the FOV Slider included in the mod, avoids having to use DirectVR which works but finnicky and doesn’t always work. Using the FOV slider is a more permanent solution, hence the mod.
    – Hide Weapon is optional but I prefer it. Hiding weapon allows for stronger 3D strength and experimentation.
    – Modify your keyboard commands and rebind any that conflicts with your VorpX hot keys. Mainly middle mouse button for me.

    4.) Download my profile from the cloud and you should then be good to go. You must launch the game using LaunchSEF.bat which can be found

    Your Game Main Folder\SEF\LaunchSEF.bat

    My VorpX settings have been carefully made. Obviouly you can adjust anything within Vorpx as you see fit. The height modifier is set to 0 but I actually set it to 0.4 during gameplay and when I am ready to quit I put it back to 0 for main menu. This can impact the viewport so be mindful of this. You’ll see what I mean.

    About Resolutions: You can edit the SwatGuiState.ini for custom resolutions which can be found at this file path

    Your Game Main Folder\SEF\System\SwatGuiState.ini

    You’ll see a set of resolutions that resemble something like mine listed below. Once you make a list like this to include your own. Only change resolutions outside of VorpX or the game will lock up. But once you got your resolution set, you are good to go.

    ScreenResolutionChoices=800×600
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1024×576
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1024×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1152×648
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1152×864
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×720
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×800
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×960
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1280×1024
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1360×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1366×768
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1440×900
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1600×900
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1600×1024
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1600×1200
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1680×1050
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1920×1080
    ScreenResolutionChoices=1920×1200
    ScreenResolutionChoices=2560×1440
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3200X1800
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3200X2400
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3360X2520
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3840×2160
    ScreenResolutionChoices=3840×2880
    ScreenResolutionChoices=4320×2340
    ScreenResolutionChoices=4800×2700

    Final notes: This game is complex and believe me, you will need your keyboard! I use a Logitech G13. Between this and my Logitech game mouse re-programmed, I can operate this game without having to look at my keyboard. There a few caveats that do come with this. When using grenades, turn your head since the screen may become blinding but does dissipate after a few seconds. Also, some of the skyboxes are incorrect, no shaders or authoring can be accessed to deal with them. Edgepeek is a requirement for commanding your blue + red teams and other aspects of game elements such as the view ports. Once a command is issued, simpy get out of edgepeek and watch the action. Really cool stuff. I never get bored of setting off a C2 charge! Thankfully any of the caveats that you encounter are not game breaking. In fact, this really a cool way to play this tactical game. If I come across anything else that is useful, I’ll edit this post. Also, suggestions are always welcomed.

    Have fun!

    Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi (G3D)

    Default is full VR mode or you can switch to either Cinema or Immersive

    You can’t go wrong for a buck, less than the price for a cup coffee
    Steam Sale

    Profile uploaded to the cloud. Requires dgVoodoo2. Older game and you can likely run this on maximum resolution depending on your hardware. I am using dgVoodoo2 settings of 3840×2880 4:3, Anisotropic filtering (AF) 16x and MSAA 8x and is smooth as butter. Just wish the FOV and G3D was a littler stronger but it works as is.

    Condemned: Criminal Origins (G3D and Full VR) -> Steam Version

    This game is surprisingly really good in VR. Nothing like using a lead pipe, shovel or 2×4 with bolts to kick some butt….lol. I used the shader authoring tool to deal with the skybox!

    Other things to note
    – Create autoexec.cfg where your game exe is and enter following.
    “HeadBob” “0.000000”
    “FovY” “95”.
    – Disable Volumetric Lighting, Soft Shadows and Shadows in game detail graphic settings. Everything else maximum. You can experiment with the above settings but looks and performs better without lighting and shadows.
    – Use VorpX settings for personal preferences. G3D strength at 1.00 works well my settings at a resolution of 3840×2880 4:3

    Game also has a suspenseful atmosphere and graphics not bad considering the year of this title.

    Have fun whacking!

    Hello there,
    so I bought Vorpx to play mainly older games and saw that Elite Force was listed under the “supported games” page but when I tried to hook the game up with vorpx all sorts of problems emerged.
    I found a workble solution and want to share it with you so that you can avoid all the nightmare for yourself. ;)
    First of you ve to install the base game + expansion pack.
    The play the game with better grapical fidelity, download the HD Texture pack for the game: https://www.moddb.com/mods/elite-force-graphic-overhaul-project/downloads/elite-force-graphic-overhaul-mod-beta-release

    now you have to just unzip and replace the “BaseEF” folder in your base game directory. Do not unzip the rest of the mod file!

    Then you ve to fix the resolution. Go to: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/star-trek-voyager-elite-force and download the “1_20_StarTrek_Voyager_Elite_Force_Centred_HUD.7z”.
    Unzip it in your base directory(for expl.:1920x1080p folder) and go to “BaseEF” folder. Inside open the autoexec.cfg and change resolution as you prefer (for me I ve the Oddyssey+ and I chose 3240×2160 and it looks nice ingame)
    Make sure your monitor has this resolution profile active while you start the game!
    But before that start steamvr then start vorpx and go to “cloud gameprofiles” in vorpx. Find the EliteForce(Funque) profile and import and activate it.
    Now start the stvoy.exe in your eliteforece main directory.
    Hopefully the game starts properly now if not and a bluescreen error appears you propably have to change resolution etc.)

    When inside a mission ingame open the vorpx menue and set “FoV Enhancemnt” to max. Then click on Direct VR Memory Scan so this part is tricky sometimes it will configure tracking fine and sometimes the gameview just sticks and only the weapon in your hand gets tracked. Try it several times at several positions/maps/levels ingame. IF its still not working restart your game or pc and try again. Its kinda hacky but it works good when all is setup well.

    Have fun and merry christmas you all.

    I did set it to exclusive fullscreen, but the res still doesn’t show up in the list. I’ll play with it a bit and see.

    On 3200×2400 it plays very very well. Its so clear on my Odyssey+, and it doesn’t seem to have taken a performance hit at all at that res.

    How does SOTTR run at 3200×2400? What fps are you getting? ASW enabled/disabled? Are you playing full VR or immersive? I assume you have at least a 1080ti system.

    Reason I ask is I haven’t yet bought SOTTR. Interested in how it performs. Although, I just noticed there is a trial version which I have downloaded just now. Will try soon, once I have time away from other VR things.

    Did you set it to Exclusive Fullscreen?

    I tried just now, and default Fullscreen would not let me go above native 1920×1200, but enabling Exclusive did, 3200×2400 worked.

    Can anyone tell me how to get SOTTR to use a custom nvidia resolution that I created, without having to actually go into my windows settings and change my resolution to that res each time I run the game? I can get it to work if I change my desktop res, but I’d like to keep my desktop res at 1920×1080, and run SOTTR at 3200×2400. If I don’t change my windows settings, the 3200×2400 does not show up in the list of resolutions in SOTTR.

    Thanks.

    I don’t understand what’s being done here. Is this only for people with 4k displays? My computer is connected to a 1080p tv, so the max output for that display is 1920×1080, 60Hz, that’s the max. There’s a lot of resolutions already listed, none of them are over 1080, and there shouldn’t be, the tv is not capable of anything higher.

    I’m using a Rift Cv1 for Vr, and it’s also available under “Change Resolution”, listed as “VR-Desktop”, and only has a single resolution available, it’s 3840×2160.

    Where are the above changes supposed to be made in “Change Resolution”, my LG tv, or under the Rift listing, VR-Desktop?

    I really don’t think I want to be “testing” 2240×1680 on a 1080p tv, do I? That’s my concern, the testing of resolutions that are way outside of what my tv is capable of?

    I’ve decided to lean more on scale for this game – with a more conservative, but natural feeling 3D. I like the landscape and buildings to feel large.

    I’ve put my Pimax 4k profile settings on the cloud for anyone interested. I set FOVScale=1.46000 in Documents\Assassin’s Creed Odyssey\ACOdyssey.ini, and used 16:10 resolution (3648×2280) for best results.

    You may have luck getting things to pop better by upping the fov (like 160+), and zooming the screen out some. Also upping the depth weighting of course. Things will look smaller, but should have deeper layering.

    Hi there,

    Last night I got upgraded to 18.3. Installation kept failing, and I had to install manually, but in the end installed.

    Then played Wow last night… it was AMAZING. Most of the issues with not being able to focus on certain things with 2 eyes were fixed and I had a great experience.

    This morning, ran up Wow again, and it’s a disaster! Not playable.

    • When you start up, and after you press Ctrl+Alt+Shift to clear the initial message, the mouse is “trapped” in a 2×2 inch square near the logo
    • I press Alt-Tab to “get out” of the tiny window that the mouse is trapped in
    • On the monitor, the game resolution is the full 1920×1200 and looks normal
    • I see the Wow mouse cursor when I move the mouse, but cannot click any buttons in the game as if mouse clicks do not register. Keyboard is fine
    • When you put the headset on, however, the game area is squished into a square aspect ratio
    • Also, there is no mouse cursor, though you can see buttons in the game light up as the invisible mouse cursor rolls over them

    Why oh why couldn’t it have remained the same as last night? All I did was exit Wow and re-launch this morning!

    Things I’ve tried

    • Reset my game profile for Wow
    • Restart computer

      I don’t understand what has happened. It’s completely unusable now and I could cry because I actually have some time to play this weekend, and it’s wrecked.

      Please help, Thanks!
      Sandra
