just tried deus ex hr, direct vr does NOT work,if i press ctrl-L it fails FOV adjustment.
Also it doesn’t use the custom resolution, i’ve set 1680p inside vorpx panel but it gives 1900*1200 instead.
i’ve set vorpx to launch as admin.
basically i’ve disabled direct vr, changed fov manually in regedit, set resolution to 2560*1440 (will try custom resolution next time), and it looks fine, but i did the same as last year, everything manually.
btw there is too much latency on head tracking, don’t know if it’s possible to reduce it, tried the slider also on head tracking settings, no changes, maybe there’s to disable mouse smooth from regedit, with that latency i’ll get sick after a few minutes, will do more tries next time…
hope it works for other games but for this one it doesn’t look it works so well.
DirectVR is a collection of multiple features that help to make games a better experience when you play them on the headset, it is not linked to the kind of stereo 3D that is available for a game. It can take care of resolution, FOV, settings-tweaks and head tracking. Which of these four potential DirectVR options are available varies from game to game.
Oculus Touch/Vive wands work with almost every game, that is unrelated to DirectVR. You can use the VR controllers to either emulate mouse and keyboard (freely configurable) or a gamepad.
Games that have all four potential DirectVR features are for example the ones below, a lot more have support for at least one of the potential DirectVR features.
Skyrim (original DX9 version is usually the better choice)
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 4
Portal
Portal 2
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 4
Far Cry Primal
Left 4 Dead 2
Mirror’s Edge
Bioshock (DX9)
Bioshock 2 (DX9)
Bioshock Infinite
Borderlands 2
Borderlands Pre-Sequel
Dishonored
Deus Ex Human Revolutions
Black Mesa Source
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 Episode 1
Half-Life 2 Episode 2
Aliens Colonial Marines
Dear Esther (Source engine version)

No need to import profiles from the cloud for these games. Please make a factory reset in the config app (trouble shooting page) in case you imported an outdated profile from the cloud.
WoW is a third person game, hence it opens in cinema mode, not much point in playing a third person game in full VR mode, especially one that is so interface heavy as WoW. There is a new mode that sits in between cinema mode and full VR immersion wise in this vorpX. Switch the ‘Play Style’ to ‘Immersive Screen Mode’ to try that. Basically that’s cinema mode as immersive as possible.
However, if you want to check how first person games work in full VR mode, I would recommend one of the games below, they work in full VR out of the box.
Good games to start are (in no particular order):
Skyrim (original DX9 version is usually the better choice)
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 4
Portal
Portal 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Mirror’s Edge
Bioshock (DX9)
Bioshock 2 (DX9)
Bioshock Infinite
Borderlands 2
Borderlands Pre-Sequel
Dishonored
Deus Ex Human Revolutions
Black Mesa Source
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 Episode 1
Half-Life 2 Episode 2
Aliens Colonial Marines
Dear Esther (Source engine version)
The Stanley Parable
What quisutdeus meant was the SW:BF1 profile in the vorpX config app. You can clone profiles on the “Local Profiles” page of the config app and assign unknown programs to such a cloned profile.
The next vorpX version will come with a SW:BF2 profile preinstalled. If you feel unsure how to do the above, just wait a week for the update. It’s quite easy though, so no harm in trying yourself.
Did you check the “Essential Hints” guide in the vorpX help? It explains the essential basics you have to know, e.g. what options you have if vorpX can’t automatically adjust the FOV for a game. Reading this guide really is essential (hence its name :) ).
Apart from that I would suggest to try Direct VR games first, which do everything automatically, so you just have to push a button after entering the game. Save the ones that require manual steps for later when you know a bit better how vorpX works.
BTW: the next vorpX version will have auto FOV for about 40 more games.

Third person games like Diablo 3 or WoW usually start in cinema mode. You can switch to full VR mode in the vorpX menu (DEL key), but that doesn’t necessarily make much sense for every game. Diablo 3 for example has an isometric camera perspective looking down on the playfield, so it’s best best played in cinema mode. vorpX cannot change the actual game mechanics of a game.
However, for first person games, especially those with Direct VR (like Portal 2), the experience comes quite close to native VR games. Portal 2 does not run on a virtual cinema screen with vorpX, it takes you into the game exactly like a native VR game, even including basic roomscale capabilities in that particular case.
Good games to get started (all with Direct VR support) are listed below. Later, when you know a bit better what vorpX can and cannot do and how it works, you will also be able to bring other first person games close to that.

It didn’t give a pop up window for me either, but it works after selecting it in the vorpx menu.
I meant I searched these forums for “deus ex geometry 3d”, and someone else had discoveres changing the name of deusex to haloce works (but not hud) so I just tried changing unreal to haloce, selected geometry 3d, increased 3d effect, and hey presto.
jonny panic, I just tried but it doesn’t give me the usual “this game supports Geometry 3d” popup window.
Basically, I made a copy of “unreal.exe” and renamed it “haloce.exe”. I don’t see any “Deus Ex Geometry 3D” profile in Local Profiles or Cloud profiles.
I tried this and it works, but geometry 3d is missing. So I searched for Deus Ex geometry 3d… and basically, change your exe filename to Haloce and then it works.
Havent played around much yet but it works well. Not many glitches. Turn off coronas and the crosshair, play without hud. The game looks pretty great in VR.
I can tell right a way about single player as I play only it – So far I played something like dozen custom team deathmatches and arcade mathes with bots and it works as I said – really great especially if you put on top of good 3D and VR, just insanely good looking game (it looks even better then the original – it supports directx 12, but will not work with vorpX, so I play with DX11).
I haven’t touched the Campaign yet but I don’t see a reason why it would not work – I will let you know once I am back from work and start it finally.
If you ask me, don’t mind those outcry about p2w EA introduced with loot boxes – believe me, it is all completely exaggerated. In fact I played it very little cutting some time from my sleep and yet I have like 2.5k credits, before I even started to play for good. Beside that, if you are not going to play MP or not going to play it for real, then this doesn’t really concern you, just like me.
you can thank all those outcry people for being able to buy heros easily, without those people to unlock one hero you would have to play 40 hours to unlock just ONE hero, EA reduced the cost of heroes thanks to those “outcry” people.
I am sorry if I sounded offensive – that was not my intention. I just think it is exagerated problem and also – do you know – that alongside cutting the amount of credits needed to unlock heroes, EA also cut the amount of credits earned in same proportion? :D Some may find it funny (like me) but some may feel offended. So from what I know outcry had no practical effect.
Summary: E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy works really great out the box if you run on HL2 profile as it’s a source engine game. Being a quiky euro-Deus Ex like game, it very atmospheric with large gothic architecture and entrancing visual design.
Direct VR works for rotation but not FOV and Positional (fails on those two).
I felt camera height needed adjustment up slightly and FOV, of course must be manually adjusted. I my testing so far, very little in effect glitches.
I meant to just test it but ended playing for two hours and I haven’t even finished optimizing it. Once I’m done, I’ll upload the profile for easy of use.
PROVISIONAL Rating: Excellent (Highest being PERFECT) – Martin
btw, forgot to mention, I excluded the steam/Common/deus ex folder in windows defender. Is there any other folders?
Are you shure this works with Vorpx ?
So far i tried the DX10 Renderer for Unreal 1, but VorpX doesnt allow any DX-Dlls in game folders.
BTW: This DX Renderer also supports Deus EX and Rune.

Anyhow , it works great with 3D Vision though.
Good news everyone! The original, the one and only Unreal Gold! The action, the music, the atmosphere, the thrills! All of it work pretty well in VR. Just be sure to install the 277 patch here to get the game to work with DirectX 9, and just create a profile based on DeusEx. Oh, and you will need to copy and rename Unreal.exe to Unreal_vorpx.exe or something, since Unreal.exe is already assigned to a hidden profile. Hopefully, Ralf can delete that hidden profile now that the game is officially working!
Oh, and other adjustments you might want to consider: mouse sensitivity to 1, widescreen view (that seems to be what they call FOV) to 120. I’m still a n00b, so if someone could be kind enough to make a better profile, that would be greatly appreciated!
I have a steam deus ex mankind divided version that is no longer renders in 3d even though the vorpx is working. 3d injection probably stopped because of some minor automatic game upate because it litteraly stopped working mid-game. it was working fine and when I opened the game menu (not vorpx menu) and got back to the game it was no longer 3d injected even though vorpx was still working. I have a non steam version of deus ex mankind divided which does allow vorpx to inject and 3d is working just as it did with the steam version prior todays update (9/5/2017).
did anyone ever encounter such issue maybe with previous updates that interfered with vorpx? how can I get it working again?? funny thing is that I have bought a new pc for this game including pimax 4k and it suddenly quit on me..thanx
