There is already a topic with a lot of them :

    Geometry VR Game List.

You can check engines&games here :
    https://rjkole.com/gamestuff/engines/index.php

Or looking for the game on the forum.

Or just trying it (the only way to be sure).

From my personnal experience, best profiles are :
    Originals Bioshock 1&2&Infinite
Originals Metro (I tried 2033 it has perfect G3D and 6dof) and Redux versions (I tried Last Light Redux and it was perfect but I recommand a top end graphic card with this Redux version, without even knowing if it’s better than standard)
The ascent (and some others Unreal Engine 4 games) works well.
Black Mesa (&Xen), probably Portal and Dark Messiah.
People say Dishonored, Titanfall 2, F.E.A.R, Mirror’s Edge, Fallout 3, etc. works well.
Probably Clive Barker’s Jericho & Undying too.
Originals Stalker works with good G3D but without adavanced lighting (DX9 only).

Kingdom Come Deliverance, Metro Exodus and Farcry Primal works well enough (and so probably Cry Engine games like Prey 2017 / Crysis 1-3, and Snowdrop Engine games like Facry 2-5)

Even if concerning Metro Exodus, I prefer Z3D during most of the game (except bunkers&spiders which are great in G3D) in order to have raytracing, at least on Reverb G2 (no compression, so it’s stunning).

Some Z3D profiles are very close to G3D (Atomic Heart, Frontier Of Pandora, Unreal Engine 5 games seems to work great from my experience).

I may be wrong, but I think most DX9 games probably have perfect G3D, and some DX11 games too.

This is unfortunate, I’m having the exact same issues right now. I was really hoping to play Portal 2 with my 3D projector. Did you ever figure this out? If there’s any way to troubleshoot or potentially solve this issue, I’m all for it. The only other game I really wanted to try was the witcher 3, and while VorpX at least attached itself to Portal 2, albeit with that black screen, it doesn’t even manage to get that far in the witcher 3. I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong, but it’s been a pretty dissappointing experience so far. Hoping there are solutions…

When you launch the WMR portal while another OpenXR runtime is set, it should ask normally whether it should make itself the OpenXR runtime. After agreeing to that your G2 should work like before.

If for some reason that doesn’t work, try using the G2 with SteamVR by choosing SteamVR as your headset type in the vorpX config app. Native WMR OpenXR typically is better for WMR headsets, hence vorpX recommends it in that case, but SteamVR also works. Better than nothing.

The one thing you should definitely avoid whenever possible is OpenXR via SteamVR’s OpenXR implementation.

Hoping someone can explain to me the sequences by which things are generated by the graphics card. I would like to know so i can determine which is more important in attempt to optimize for my preference (seem I need higher refresh so greater then image quality).

More specifically, how are rendering resolution settings (found in the Quest desktop app), and game resolution settings different. Or, how do they impact they tend to impact performance.

    I have two possibly thoughts:
    (1) Game (virtual monitor) and virtual environment are rendered independently. And combined right before forming a final image (rasterization). In this thought, Rendering Resolution has no effect on the virtual monitor, only the environment. I image being in mindcraft world, and looking through a portal/mirror to Cyberpunk 2077. Therefore, 0.7x vs. 1.3x has little effect on the quality of the virtual monitor/game image.

    (2) Game (virtual monitor) and virtual environment are rendered on top of another (like the game monitor is a texture). Assuming the game is rendered at a lower resolution, and the game would be scaled to the Rendering Resolution. Stretching the image and making it look fuzzy. I guess this would be like looking at a low resolution texture/posture in a game running 4k. The text would be all blurry. In this case, i’m not sure where to start to find optimal balance, Rendering Resolution or Game Resolution. Although Rendering Resolution would be the max, for game. It’s effectively the monitor resolution.

Hello, I am using a HP Reverb G2 with Steam VR and Windows Mixed Reality Portal and try to get Skyrim Special Edition to work with VorpX. The hook seems to work the G2 is displaying a (distorted) picture which i cannot fix because the VorpX keyboard Shortcuts and delete key does not work. Any Suggestions are appreciated!

Only Portal 2 is supported of these three. That should work without any hassle though. if your new PC has Windows 11, make sure to use the vorpX beta from the link below. There is a severe petformance issue with DirectX 9 games like Portal 2 on Windows 11 with the regular vorpX build.

Even if your PC is brand new, please double and triple check for any tools in the background that may hook into games. Some bigger PC vendors preinstall bloatware that may interfere. Also remove any potentially preinstalled invasive third party antivirus. Use the built in Windows Defender instead. Defender kicks in automatically when you remove third party AV.

For the vorpX beta check this thread:

I bought my VR headset because of the possibility to play a lot of games with vorpx in VR. Sadly not one worked until now with my Quest 3.
I tried Satisfactory, Portal 2, Quake Champions

Is there any possibility that I can use my Quest 3 for those games? Sadly this is very demotivating.
The PC is completely new, no software that can distract vorpx.

So Titanfall 2 has a Revival and I tried the game again last night with VorpX for the first time in over a year.
It ran perfect, was smooth as silk and I thought it was just as good as the NEW portal 2 VR mod that was recently released.
I had a blast again, well done Ralf!

Next to impossible that the update caused any head tracking related issues. No changes in that department at all.

I uploaded a Portal 2 profile with updated memory scanner data. Luckily in this game the scanner data is consistent between game sessions, which allows to include it into profiles. Should get you going again at least until the next Portal 2 update.

You can download the profile in the config app on the ‘Cloud Profiles’ page.

I think the problem is that head tracking is broken (for me) in portal 2 since the update yesterday. That may be whats preventing the scanning to complete.

I tried another game (Fallout:New Vegas) and it works normally.

My OS: Windows 11, HeadSet: Reverb G2.

After updating to Version 21.3.5 today I can’t complete a Direct VR scan in Portal 2. (Rotation is cached but Postion and Field of View fail.)
Worked fine yesterday from a cached scan from a few weeks back.

I restarted the machine after the update to double check.
    Thank you for your time!

There is now a profile for diablo 4 with depth 3d with addon.

Where I can find this profile, I found a post by Blueskydefender but no idea where it is?
Second problem is that while reshade works on flatscreen with diablo but when windows mixed reality portal is open reshade won´t hook to diablo.

I tested couple of other games and did not have this problem there.

About that magenta thing, sometimes when I switched to performance mode the colours could get messed up.

Hi, thanks for replying. I’ve tried your profiles! Thanks for publishing them!

Sadly I can only connect the Pico 4 via virtual desktop. And I have to use Vorpx in steam VR mode.

I can run HL on medium without too much trouble. My CPU does shoot up to 86% when the shaders are loading though.

It’s great to hear that your profiles are working for you. I’ll give them another try. Would you recommend the beta version of your profile or the original?

I just assumed it was a dx12 issue, but I’ll rummage through my library and find something I can test with. And I’ll recheck my background applications for conflicts. I’m a beginner at this so I guess I just thought that if Vorpx could hook portal 2 it meant there were no global conflicts – but perhaps that’s underestimating the impact of alternative versions of DX.

Tbf, I’m wondering if the issue is that the game is taking too much of the CPU’s power and depriving Vorpx causing the failure.

    Hi,

I’m new to Vorpx. I’ve managed to get it working for Portal 2, which is great.

I’m using a Pico 4 with virtual desktop and a windows 11 laptop.

Now I’m trying to get Vorpx to hook Hogwarts Legacy.

I’ve downloaded the beta, but I can’t seem to get the game to hook. I’ve tried the 3x cloud profiles available for the game. I’ve also tried a couple that are unreal engine 4/dx12 only too. I’ve been setting the file as the HogwartsLegacy.exe in the win64 subfolder of the installation directory. Is that the right one? Or should it be the steamlink desktop one?

I’ve tried installing hook helpers and alternative hooking and that still doesn’t work.

The logs seem to say there’s an error setting fov as there’s no hmd. But even if I try to pre-launch SteamVR the process still fails.

I’ve been through the trouble shooting and don’t appear to have any conflicting programs running.

I read in a different post something about letting the shaders load before attaching vorpx but I’m not sure how to do that?

And am I missing a process step here? Should I be loading up the Vorpx desktop monitor and launching the game via that rather than via virtual desktop?

    Any ideas?

    Hello everyone,

Newer user here but I started using vorpx with portal 2. Very crisp, looked great and intuitive.

When I moved to dying light 2, no matter what I do for settings, I can’t get the game to look crisp at all. Up close (within say 10 feet in game) things look good, but past 10 feet, the trees look like a game from 1998.

I have messed with all in game settings (from low to high), and messed with vorpx menu settings. I still get great frames with everything cranked to the max. I can get vorpx quality settings up to ‘phenomenal’, while it says ultra ‘cannot be done on my pc’. I have added all ‘wide custom resolutions’ through nvidia settings.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    My setup:

    I7 13700k
    Rtx 4090
    32 gig 6000hz ddr5
    Pimax 8kx
